We stayed here last week, and unfortunately the place is completely disheveled. My husband was bitten multiple times on his side from something in the bed while he was sleeping. Choice hotels certainly is not inspecting this franchise owned branded property and it shows.There is also junk all over the place and the lobby is a disaster as well as behind the check in counter. I stay in room 207 and woke up to bed bugs. If you recently booked this room soon after it has been reported, you should probably contact an attorney because the chances of them treating is is slim to none. Avoid this place at all cost unless you don’t mind waking up covered in bed bugs.If you are a fellow UNION member working at BLUE OVAL, places ran like this do not deserve our HARD EARNED MONEY. I had purchased a 10 night stay and on the 4th night I woke up to something crawling on my leg. I quickly turned on the light and removed the blanket and noticed a swarm of small and big bed bugs. I have been traveling for 5 years now and this is the first time I have ever dealt with this. After quickly gathering my things and putting them in the bed of my truck I immediately went down to the hotel front desk and showed them a live one I had CAUGHT in a BOTTLE. The front desk worker noticed and agreed it was an issue, and told me a refund would be pushed through when the manager came in around 10 am. The next day I called Priceline ( who I booked through and spoke with about the matter the day it happened) and had them reach out to the general manager. This is when the manager basically REFUSED to give me a refund and basically told me to kick rocks. I completely understand things like this happen when you have hundreds of guests a month, but to basically be called a liar AFTER BRINGING A LIVE ONE TO THEM is absolutely insane. I should’ve noticed this place was not well kept when on the first night I pulled the AC filter out (because it wasn’t cooling) to see a huge amount of buildup on the filter. This isn’t a hard task to keep on top of, and it certainly hasn’t been touched in MONTHS I assume. The owner and general manager clearly do not care about the health and the condition of this place as long as the money keeps coming in. Equivalent of a slum lord if you ask me. I have attached pictures of the bed bugs, and the filter from the AC. The filter alone describes how this place is ran. Also there was some roaches periodically that popped up in the sink area. I attached a picture as well.Noteworthy details: BLUE OVAL WORKERS AVOID AT ALL COST

Very unclean. I had to clean the room just to spend the night. Food also left in the microwave. When calling around to find a hotel room, I specifically asked if their rooms were clean and they said yes. Got out of there first thing the next day and went to Covington. Lights also flickered during my stay and one receptacle did not work. Don't recommend. Very dirty.

Worst hotel stay off my life. The mattresses are infested with BED BUGS, as I learned when I woke up in the morning, in pain. These things can carry diseases and a much more serious problem than people realize.I don’t think the sheets are being washed each time, I think they’re being pulled taught and retucked. Things broken in the room, missing lamps etc.The staff that works here are clearly not capable or willing to do the job. I would never stay here again if it was free. If I had this experience, I bet every bed is infested.

It is off the hwy. Next to truck stops and is truck friendly itself.. roach motel. Breaker through somewhere so lost tv and most lights. Etc.. roaches everywhere..Spacious room but not for 80 dollars Stayed 4 20 to 4 21 .. yes its 80 dollars websites says like 50 so they taking I mean taxing the rest. Everyone but the actual workers were friendly lol... later..

Came in late at night and just needed a room to sleep. The young lady at the counter was great, but this place was scary and gross and felt a little bit like the setting for a "Saw" franchise movie.Ultimately, I just didn't feel safe and left, especially after reading the consistent 1 star reviews on this place. We ended up in a much nicer suite hotel 20 minutes down the road for just $30 more.Walkability: XXX adult store within walking distance. I'm positive you're within walking distance to any illicit drugs your heart desires

The Good: Front desk people were very helpful and attentive! Two ladies assisted us in clearing up some reservation issues when we arrived, and on the second night, a fellow quickly responded when we reported an escalating domestic dispute in the room beside us. The location was easy to find and get to. The fridge and microwave were clean and worked well. Air conditioner worked well 👍The Not-So-Good: Cleanliness/maintenance could definitely be improved upon - there was hair all over the tub and the tub faucet dripped regularly, there were deceased bugs along the baseboards in tiled areas, and this is the most ill-fitting/unsecure door I've personally ever seen at a lodging. The TV picture was fuzzy on every channel and the room phone was not working when we needed to call the front desk at 4:30am to report our neighbor's domestic dispute. As someone else mentioned in their review, the carpet seemed quite dirty and we basically kept our shoes on at all times when not sleeping. The mattress and box spring shared a large stain on their left side, the curtains were two different colors and didn't close well enough to keep the morning sunshine out, and the smoke detector looks so old that I don't even know how to tell if it was in working condition. Also, on the point of fire safety, someone has a charcoal grill on the backside's second level balcony/walkway, which I very much doubt is legal.Nearby activities: Head to Jackson! Lots of options for shopping, eating, and recreation.Walkability: You can safely cross the parking lot to visit the Adult Store or you can relatively safely cross the road to visit the BP Station for snacks, but the bridge over the highway is not pedestrian safe, so you'll probably want to drive to the other service stations even though they're only about 1/4 mile away.

Place is absolutely disgusting! Door to my room wouldn’t even close all the way, bed smelled like someone pissed on it after it was made, bathroom sink had blood in it, and previous guests dirty bathroom towels were still in the bath tub. They moved me to a new room that they said was recently renovated but it wasn’t much better. Housekeeping didn’t touch the room ONCE in the 4 nights I stayed even after asking twice! I couldn’t even get clean towels or more soap. Even Choice Hotels wouldn’t help with anything! Not only will I NEVER even consider staying in another Roadway, I will NEVER do business with any lodge under Choice Hotels again!

Worst experience of my life. Do not under any circumstances stay here.Reserved a non-smoking room and was given one that smelled like pure cigarettes. When addressed the front desk, was once “no that’s impossible it’s a non-smoking room”. Was eventually transferred to another room that smelled like weed. On top of that, found multiple stink bugs in the bathroom. Left after 10 minutes and booked another hotel down the road.When asked for a refund, was told no because “you asked for a non smoking room and we gave you that”. When clearly someone has ruined the room by smoking. Told the front desk I would be filing a dispute with my bank to which I was told “that’s your problem, go ahead”.Overall 0/10. Worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Rude front, homeless in the “lobby” at 8pm, smelled like weed everywhere in and outside the building. Have filed a formal complaint and will be getting my money bank either by my bank/ChoiceHotel customer service.If you’re on a budget and can only afford $60 a night for a hotel, do yourself a favor and take a loan to book ANYWHERE else for $80. The extra $20 will be 100% worth it.Will never be staying at a Rodeway Inn ever again. Hope management reads this and realizes how poorly of a property they are running.

The stay was a mixed bag. It was quite and clean and the check in guy was very helpful. However there is no continental breakfast as stated on the website and the room certainly didn't look like the pictures shown. There was a mix of updated furniture with old furniture. Cosmetic damage but all appliances worked well and we had a brand new TV but the bed spread looked like it was from the 70's.No complaints for the price we paid.

Had to wipe my feet off before getting into bed because the floor was so dirty. It didn't matter though, as the bed was as bad. One side was urine stained (or appeared to be) and the the other side had a blood stain that obviously had not been washed. It is very close to the interstate so very noisy. Luckily I checked in very late and left very early in the morning otherwise I would have refused the room. DISGUSTING.

Dirty. Shower curtain reeked of cigarette smoke and was visibly soiled and moldy. Shower has mold in the grout and on the ceiling. The room had a full size bed and a sofa. The brown microfiber sofa had visible food or other greasy substance on the cushions. The bed was a low end mattress, there were cigarette burn holes in the bedspread, and there were no blankets. The pillow had no pillow cover to protect against contaminants. The electrical outlet for the in room coffee maker and blow dryer did not work even after trying to reset the GFI. There was a kitchen sized black trash bag dumped on the walkway in front of the room. I arrived at 5 pm and it was still there the next morning at 8 am. The air conditioner cover was broken. The drapes have several holes in the lining. There is a adult bookstore in the adjacent parking lot. The lobby was dirty and in poor repair. People are permanent residents of the hotel on the second floor. There was more than one barbecue grill on the upper balcony.Safety: Does not feel like a safe place to stay.

Upon arrival couldn't get anyone to window for like 30 minutes. I actually went back to office and asked for a refund after opening the door to my room, it was disgusting!!! Had a weird terrible smell too. So to keep my business the guy put me in a upgraded newly remodeled one. But there are no vending machines, drink or snack, the ice machine didn't work either. Not to mention the photos of this place that are on the internet does NOT look like it is now. Do not recommend staying here, save your $$ and your time. Very unhappy unsatisfied and will never go back there.

The stay was horrible. My significant other and I have stayed here several times over the past few years and each time the experience is worse. This last time was the straw that broke the camels back. The outside was deplorable with trash and dirty towels outside guest rooms. I would not have paid much attention to them except for the fact that they had begun to mold so they had clearly been there a length of time. The arm chair in the room had no cushion left in it, the matching ottoman has holes in it, and both were horribly stained. There was hair stuck to the inside of the shower walls. There were used hair ties around the bathroom door knob. I got out the shower and my boyfriend asked me how I broke a nail. I said I didn't and looked at him to see him holding up an artificial nail on his finger tip. I watched his face turn from amusement to horror as he realized it was indeed not my nail. The worst part was the roach infestation. I did not see the bugs originally but when I began to warm food up in the mircowave they began emerging from every crack and opening. They were crawling from under the microwave, from under the carpet under the sink. The roaches had clearly made a home in the space between the door joining the neighboring room because for every one that was killed two more would appear. They were even behind the headboard. When I arrived home I cleaned my suitcase out in the driveway for fear of brining anything inside my home. My suggestion is to stop at at hotel in Jackson, push forward to Memphis, or just sleep in your car.

My wife and I enjoy staying here. Everyone on the staff is so helpful. The atmosphere here is welcoming and it made us feel very comfortable. The rooms are clean and everything was working wonderfully. The garden area is one of our favorite places to go and see a beautiful sunset. Then if you want to take a nice walk and eat a good dinner, there's an excellent restaurant just 2 minutes away called Country Pride. With several newly remodeled rooms here at this Rodeway Inn, the staff, management, and owners really knocked one out of the park with all their accomodations . It's a great place to come and stay.

Right off of I -40.The lady who checked me in was nice.The bed in the room was so old it had metal springs. The sheets and pillowcases were so dirty I brought in my own blanket and used a sweatshirt to cover the pillows. There were people screaming in the parking lot all hours of the night and morning.No breakfast or coffee in the morning.WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!

Not a great place but will do in a punch. When we checked in our room had no sheets in blankets. We were rerouted to another room quickly. The clerk was very helpful. The room was comfortable and we slept well. The bathroom was small, did not have any fan or exhaust, and the tub was not spotless. But the room itself was clean.

Original room smelled like dirty body. The clerk was super nice and friendly and she immediately put us in a different room that smelled way better. Unfortunately the toilet had poop in it and the toilet seat had dried urine on it. I give the nice clerk 5 stars 🌟 but the hotel itself was only 1-2 stars 🌟

This place is better than some in the area for comparable prices. Being next to an adult video store was not really conducive to family. If you don't mind that and need a quick place to get some sleep before leaving early, the accommodations are OK. It felt like the comforters hadn't been washed in awhile, but we didn't see any bugs at least. It did take awhile for hot water to come on, but it did arrive. Be patient.Breakfast was better than expected but nothing fancy. Didn't like being charged a 22.6% tax, but I know that's not the motel operator's fault. What does the city and county and state do with that money, spend it on higher salaries or the local minor league baseball stadium? All areas need better lobbyists and officials to look after the interests of travelers and these outrageous hotel-motel taxes. I don't mind paying a 10 to 11 percent tax when I travel, but over than that is excessive.

This place is worse than bad! I was given a key, only to find out from the maintenance guy that the electronic lock doesn't work! I said how do I get in and out? He said just go up front and someone will let you in! The place was disgusting! Insects, ac barely worked, mold, peeling paint, a vanity that was made from 2x4s! Stay away! This experience cured me! I will never stay at any hotel that looks rundown again! This place needs to be condemned!

Beautifully updated and clean rooms (at least the one we were in). Friendly and courteous staff. Plenty of good hot water with excellent water pressure. Decent price. Comfortable bed and pillows. It definitely isn't the Hilton or similar, but for people on a long trip, it is a comfortable place to stay the night.
