The store is in a good location and the staff is friendly, but it stays so packed with stocking carts that you can barely maneuver throughout the store. You can't pass other customers in the aisles, you can't get to products on the shelves, and in the event of an emergency people could become trapped. I couldn't even get my sister down the aisles in a wheelchair because of the stocking carts. I had to leave and take her somewhere else where it was wheelchair accessible. This store is becoming a danger. Pictures where submitted with this review. The Fire Marshall needs to be notified. If there had been a fire, my sister could have become trapped in a wheelchair while in an aisle.

I have been going to the Dollar General in Athens for about 2 months now. Every time I go in there the young guy follows me around the store. I guess he thinks I am stealing. Or he wants a date !!!! I have kids older than he is. I am probably good 40 years older than him. But I wonder what this boy would do if he actually did see someone stealing? He can’t put his hands on a customer, and he only weighs 150 lbs . I don’t think Athens City is going to come tires smoking or guns blazing over dollar store merchandise. I wonder if he has thought bout that? A store wrongly accuses a customer of Theft, that’s one heck of a liability. And it’s so annoying getting followed, every time I turn the corner, he’s there. Not very good at being a loss prevention dude. Those cats at Walmart could teach him a few things. They r the pros

This Dollar General is a life saver if you live out on the county roads near nothing. Closest place to get any kind of grocery or household items. I visited this place very often when I lived on the county roads. The employees are nice as well.
