After moving to the area we found South Rhea Animal Hospital after visiting several vets in the Hamilton County area. The vets and staff at South Rhea have been great with us and our pets. Dr. Kat has been amazing in helping guide us on getting the correct treatment for our senior cat who was diagnosed with a thyroid issue. She has been so helpful in making sure we understood all of our options so we could make an educated decision that was best for Pepper. Pepper seems so relaxed with her which makes the appointments less stressful for him and us. I would definitely recommend South Rhea to anyone looking for a down to earth vet clinic.

Dr. Price is fabulous - so calm, patient and understanding. My two girls have been going to South Rhea since I moved here from Houston in 2022 and they have done an excellent job. Recently, my youngest dog, Scout, was bit by a snake while I was in Jacksonville. She was tended to by urgent care just enough so that I could rush her home for proper care here in Tennessee. I am so glad I chose to have Dr. Price and her team take over the care that Scout needed - they exceeded my expectations and Scout is nearly 100% better after only 3 days. As someone who doesn't have human babies, it is so important to find a veterinarian who treats my fur babies with so much love and care and South Rhea does just that! Can't thank them enough!

Changed here for our baby, Ozzy. Very nice and involved people. Their grooming is off the chart good. Highly recommend.

I took a stray/outdoor cat to get fixed. I interacted with at least four different people from the first time I called to drop off/pick up and everyone was stellar. There were plenty of staff so I didn't have to wait to be helped and they were all so friendly and helpful. I have a car and a dog and will definitely be back to see how the vets are

We saw Dr Sarah Wallace on a referral from my brother and I’m sooo glad, she and her team have been one of the best things that have happened to us since moving to Rhea county. She not only knows her stuff as it pertains to animal vet care ( dogs, cows and everything in between) but she has compassion for us as companion and livestock animal owners. We would recommend them to anyone who has small or large animal vet needs and farmers that are as busy as it gets.

Found my little puppy Newman on the side of the road. Called three clinics and noone could see him. I called South Rhea and they said to bring him right in. They are absolutely awesome. The front desk, technicians and veterinarian were kind, informative and professional. Just relocated to Spring City from Cincinnati and we definitely found our new Vet Clinic.

Our favorite veterinarian. Even though we moved 2 counties over we still prefer going to South Rhea. Staff is friendly. Usually short wait times. Clean facilities. My pittie loves the female staff. He always struts.

Very caring staff. They take the time to answer all my question and all my 9 year old’s questions as well. 😄They were recommended by a friend and we have been very happy with the care our two cats have received. Would recommend 100%!

Our dog Nala hurt herself playing fetch running full speed and got stabbed by a stick somehow. She yelped when I touched her by her heart., but there was no swelling or puncture. We found a small dab of blood on her paw, but nowhere else so I left her alone for an hour to reevaluate. She still yelped and now she wasn’t eating (our girl is super food motivated) so we were worried about internal bleeding at this point. I rushed to South Rhea Animal Hospital as it was about noon the day before Thanksgiving hoping they were open. The staff welcomed us, got her weight, and into a room immediately. The Dr. was there shortly after and did a complete external exam on our frightened dog (Nala is petrified of vet clinics as she was a rescue dog who spent a lot of time at the pound) and everything looked ok. The Dr. recommended to sedate her so we could check her throat and then we saw it, a one inch by half inch gash under her tongue. They cleaned it out, stitched it up, did her nails too, prescribed meds and I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Ransom, vet techs, and the front staff. We are transitioning to Tennessee from another southern state and found our new vet for our dogs! Five stars!

Doctor and staff were so kind with our cats. Especially since we are not here full time. Showed me so much compassion when we had to put our very sick kitty to sleep (ESRD). Will definitely use again and highly recommend if you are looking for a professional vet office!

My dog has been to 2 veterinarians in chattanooga and they charged 3500.00 for a surgery that south Rhea completed for a little over 1000.00. It’s not just about the cost…This Oasis for animals is just a jump across the pond from chattanooga and my pup received so much Love and Kindness !All shelters are full because many people can’t perform the best care because of cost.South Rhea understands the importance of animals receiving quality care through talking to humans and explaining procedures, helping to prioritize procedures for many incomes.Every single medical team member from the second we walked in the door to the second we walked out was welcoming, and warm.We will never go to another vet again. Rhea was home and heaven for us !

The staff and Dr. Wallace are amazing! They truly care about their patients ( and their humans). My dog Poppet loves going there!

Super nice people but this place is ONLY for preventative care. This is NOT an animal hospital. If your dog is sick, 100% you will be taking it else where due to either no vets being in or no appointments for days. I've enjoyed going here for years but this week will be my last. They can not provide a satisfactory level care to sick animals on multiple occasions. But like I said super nice people but they're just not equipped to handle sick and healthy animals.

When I moved to Chattanooga, I needed a vet, and on someone's advice I went to the big box store vet. That was a horrible experience for my dog and myself. My "subscription" finally ran out and I looked for another vet. My friend and neighbor recommended South Rhea. What wonderful people! A well run clinic, full range, reasonable prices, and they didn't scare the peepee out of my fearless dog!Charlie and I are in for life now. We love this place. You can't go wrong herCharlie and Don

Adopted a new kitten yesterday. Her name was “Pavement” well she was there. After spending some time with her. Wendy and I discovered she winked a lot. So we have renamed her Winky. She is loving her new forever home. Within a few hours she was feeling at home. Walking all over, looking like the boss. Of her new home. Made sure yesterday and today she would have everything she might need. Bought her some toys. Which she loves. Very much a playful kitty. Made sure she had a bed. Yeah, she probably won’t use it. It’s there none the less. Very much a sweet kitty. When we were here. They said they also had a kitty by the name of Salem. It’s a black cat. I encourage someone to adopt this kitty. The staff here was very friendly to my girlfriend and I. And everything was so professional until we were leaving. When all the workers they said goodbye to her. You could see a couple of them. Where about to cry. As Winky had been there so long. If Salem doesn’t get adopted in the next couple months. Might have to go get this one as well.

We have 4 (5) cats 😲and now 2 dogs. one dog got loose and got shot. Had to amputate, very nice set-up for recovery in the back.Vets and staff are all very nice and take care of us very well. I've really like the vets there. They spent some time with our cats and listening to our complaints, and figuring out what was wrong with a couple of them. Recommended!

I HIGHLY recommend South Rhea Animal Hospital!!! When our regular vet of 8 years wouldn’t fit us in, I called them and they got us in within 30 minutes! Our Molly ended up having Hemorrhagic Gastroenteritis, which is very scary! Autumn, our tech, was amazing!! She’s taken EXCELLENT care of our baby and is very thorough. We also saw Dr Wallace, who was very thorough on the testing to not miss anything and explained everything in detail. We were not rushed out the door and she spent as much time as needed and showed real concern for our Molly. We will definitely be bringing all of our dogs here from now on! Don’t think twice about taking your precious baby here!!!

Extremely helpful, and the staff are super friendly. We took our puppy there that turned out to have parvovirus, and they did above and beyond my expectations for reasonable accommodations. I would definitely recommend this hospital to others and will start taking the other family pets here. Thank you!

I took a dog in, because he had a growth on his belly. Vet, didn't think it was any thing bad, but, if I wanted it removed, she would do it. It was big like a big speckled lima bean in depth and big as a quarter. She would give me a price, what it would cost to remove. When leaving, the system was down. I was told, she would send me the cost when they came up. I got my receipt by email, no price on surgery. I called the next day, and got a nasty snappy remark from staff, she's busy, when she gets a chance she WILL CALL U AND LET U KNOW!!!!!AUG22 , well,, that was a year ago. Still waiting on that called. Funny, I get messages to buy meds and now it's his year check up, but, still nothing on surgery. Hum?My dogs r my family. They go on trips and probably eat better than most children. Sleep in the bed w me.I still make trips back to Clarksville, the one vet there, her prices r good ,like here, but, least they contact u and show more concern about ur animal. And have a caring staff.Price was good. Staff, hateful, and apparently, vet wasn't to concerned about growth on my dog. He yeps if I happen to touch him around that area.I'll make appts in Clarksville, when I know I'll be going. Usually, there, I get told an estimated price while speaking to vet.

This is by far the absolute best veterinary office/hospital I have ever had any of my dogs at. My dog, Jackson, recently needed emergency care and they were amazing with him. Kind and gentle with him and kept us updated as we waited. He absolutely loves going there. 5 stars are not nearly enough...I'd give them 100 times more if I could. Their kennel service rocks too! Jackson and his sister, Casey, love going there too!!

Thank you for being so amazing at such a rough time in our lives. We were on Christmas break visiting family when our beloved BrewBear took a turn for the worst and had to be put down. They treated us like family and turned a terrible experience into something beautiful. They allowed us time to say goodbye because this happened pretty fast. He was in so much pain but they were able to make him comfortable which allowed us to properly say goodbye. So thank you to the staff at South Rhea, you really helped us out and we will forever be greatful!

Symptoms: Drinking lots and lots of water, uncontrolled urination, lethargy, whimpering, etc.We took our dachshund (Spencer) to South Rhea Animal Hospital and he was diagnosed as diabetic with a UTI. We were told to administer 2 units of insulin twice per day as well as an anti-biotic and to come back in 2 weeks for evaluation to see if the insulin dose should be changed. After two weeks, Spencer’s blood sugar levels had not changed so his insulin was increased to 4 units twice per day.My husband and I had to go out of town for the week so we took Spencer with us continuing his insulin regimen. He was NOT improving at all. He was drinking water until he was vomiting and could not keep any food down. He was losing a lot of weight and having seizures. We called the South Rhea Animal Hospital twice while we were out of town and explained Spencer’s new symptoms. Both times we were told to wait until Monday for his second evaluation. We were so worried we found a local vet who checked Spencer’s blood sugar and was told his blood sugar was so high that it would not register on the glucose meter. That vet increased the insulin levels to 6 units twice per day. We went back home the following day.The frequent urination, vomiting, seizures, etc. continued. The next morning Spencer started vomiting blood. We rushed him to the emergency hospital on Amnicola Hwy. They drew blood and diagnosed Spencer with kidney failure with no cure or treatment possible. We had to put our baby down and brought his little body home in a cardboard box. He is now buried in our back yard. South Rhea Animal Hospital mis-diagnosed and killed our precious boy.
