I applaud any place that takes in animals off the streets and out of harms way. This place had so many cats & dogs available for adoption it was heartbreaking. What was also very sad was the price to adopt any of these animals. I know prices have gone up and you want to make sure that these animals go to good homes, but you are almost forcing people to look elsewhere. Make it reasonable for people to take these precious animals home. šŸ’”

Very clean facility and the option process was very seamless and smooth. Staff is nice. The price was very good in alignment with the care and medical attention the kitty received prior to the adoption. Very thorough. She also has a chip .we adopted her with the name mittens but we named her Athena

I Inquired about bringing in a couple of dogs I had found abandoned. After explaining that I had contacted every rescue in the area before calling them (two weeks of calls and messages all to every rescue we could find) the lady on the phone was quite rude and huffy when I was asking questions about the intake process and when I mentioned that other rescues told me they would have space she said quite bluntly that they only make space by killing another dog. Not euthanize like one would expect a professional to say. Kill. I cannot believe they would have someone on the phone that is that rude and disrespectful to people trying to find help for those babies.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but this place was incredible. The staff were super helpful and nice and the place was spotless! Cleanest animal shelter or animal establishment period I’ve ever been to. No bugs (not even flies) and no pee or poop anywhere in sight, it doesn’t even smell like animals in there. On top of that I adopted literally the most perfect angel of a kitten from them, if you are looking to adopt GO HERE!!! The adoption process itself was also incredibly easy and they explain everything to you, they even give you a slip to get loads of coupons from petsmart after you adopt which I thought was amazing! Not only that but they also have tables full of supplies like toys, treats, food, even some collars and leashes and they tell you to take what you need after you adopt. I’ll never adopt from anywhere else.

They helped me find my new baby, Leo, formerly named Toby. He's a 10 month old brown tabby, and he's the sweetest kitty ever. He's the perfect fit for our family, my other cat loves him. I wish I could thank the animal shelter for helping me pick out my fur-baby, the lady who helped me was so kind and considerate of what I was looking for in a cat. They are dedicated to helping animals find their forever homes!

I was very impressed with the facility. It was clean and had no smell. The staff were very polite and professional. We adopted a beautiful Healer-Border collie mix from them and she was very healthy with NO fleas and she didn't smell like a kennel.Best animal shelter I've ever been to bar none.

The attendant working in the kitty area yesterday afternoon was so helpful in answering all of our many questions. It was a little past the cut-off for adoption by the time we had fallen in love with our newest furry family member, but the staff was so accommodating and allowed us to go ahead and fill out the paperwork and schedule her appointment to be spayed. We are so grateful as we cannot wait to bring her home and surprise our kiddos later this week! 😻

They spay and neuter before the proper age from vets recommendation. Thus, hindering an animals mental health and growth. The proper age to spay/neuter that is recommended by Veterinarian is is 6 months old and they'll spay at 8 weeks old. That's dangerous to future owners and animal because it can make an animal possibly aggressive.

We just adopted from here and I just came to say I was highly impressed with this shelter.Me my husband and kid have been to several shelters including Murfreesboro’s one and was not pleased with the staff or the areas the animals had to run.Cookeville’s is so nice their staff was so friendly and helpful looks like they really care and interact with their animals. We are very happy with ohnny so far and she’s a perfect little addition to our family.

The staff are friendly and do their best to keep the environment clean and disease-free (which can be a challenge in a shelter environment). Be responsible about educating yourself about possible viruses your new pet may carry asymptomatically (feline Calicivirus, which my kitten adopted in October was vaccinated and boostered for while at the shelter but does have and has complications from) and how that can/will impact your current pets. Check out the animal’s health record on file for possible concerns and take your newly adopted pet to the vet asap for evaluation. Adopting a pet is an exciting adventure but also a serious and sometimes expensive commitment. Be sure you are able to provide them with the appropriate care and attention they deserve. 🐾

Really wish I could have been able to afford to adopt one of the dogs but it's a really nice shelter that people should visit and try to help them find homes for the animals.

They were so kind and sincere when we brought our beloved Crypto in after he passed away. And we were even able to adopt a new kitten to help ease our son's pain. They're very compassionate and care so much about the animals and the people.

First off I find it disgusting that people are saying not to adopt from here. Every animal needs a loving home no matter where it comes from. Second, the staff was incredible here! They were very helpful and kind and the adoption process was very simple and easy! I'm glad I came and found this little guy!

I went there last night to pick up my kitten, everyone there was very nice. The kitten I adopted looks just like my first cat when I was six years old. He is absolutely a sweetheart, I’m in love. Thanks y’all

Older woman in the cat room was incredibly rude from the moment we walked in. Came to adopt one of the sponsored cats, the way she handled us when we walked in and tried to look at cats made us leave immediately. Will not be returning to this animal shelter. Other staff was very helpful and kind. I'd rather go somewhere that makes in a joyful and exciting experience to adopt an animal.

Super clean, beautifully set up. We've been on the hunt for a while for a new dog, and had a very specific type we wanted. So, that means we've been to a lot of animal shelters and rescues The staff at CPCA was knowledgeable, friendly, caring, and just all round wonderful. Their adoption fees are absolutely reasonable, and I love that nothing leaves the property without being fixed, which is a huge help in combatting stay populations. We brought our Nix (formerly Cash) home and we're so happy we did! Thank you for being the best place in a 100 mile radius for us to find our best friend.

I just had my first day of volunteering today, and it was the best experience of my life! Being able to work with the dogs and make them happy made me happy. And the people I get to work with are also very nice and great people. They take amazing care of all the animals and give them the time they need. I highly recommend coming and adopting from here. It truly is an amazing place and everyone is so nice.
