We absolutely love this place! We drive 30 minutes or so from Crossville because they are the best place to visit with all the selection available. It's so much better than our local place and the big box stores around.They are super knowledgeable and a great help in making sure that we are getting the right fish with the right husbandry! We appreciate all his expertise and experience! We look forward to many more trips and growing our aquarium family!

A zero star if I could based on the neglection of every single animal in there. I originally walked in to the gaming section assuming they were 2 separate store. But no… it’s a junk store/animal store. Everywhere you look there is a neglected animal with filthy tanks and even saw a couple tanks with dead axolotls in them. They also had chinchillas in really small cages with mold growing in the water bottles they drink out of!!! None of those animals should be up on the market based on their health and the owner should not be the ones to take care of them.

This store has a great selection of fish! So many nice tanks and really awesome tank decor! I can't forget the nice selection of plants for the aquarium too! I do wish the building had a better way of dealing with the moisture that his you in the face when you walk in. The guy working there was very knowledgeable and so helpful! We'll be back!

I used to love going there until I properly did my research as I got more animals. The conditions are terrible for most animals you have. Fish tanks are filthy, every other one has a dead fish in it. You have many reviews telling you that you don't take good care of your animals. You need to hire more people to clean up both places you own. Last time I ever visited you were keeping two fully grown veiled chameleons in a 10 gallon aquarium and selling them as a pair. You have absolutely no business selling chameleons when you don't know the first thing about their care. Was really sad to see two friendly bunny's you had get skinnier to the point I could feel every bone when I pet them. And of course, I'm not forgetting those poor chinchillas that are kept in the same conditions as puppy mills. I will never be purchasing another animal from you. And neither will anyone one I know. You need to be shut down if you can't be bothered to properly maintain your business. Go over to Exotic Tropicals Pet Store a few blocks away to see how it looks like to take good care of animals. See how much cleaner every single fish tank in their care is.

Neglected, Neglect, NeglectThis was at one of their 2 locations. The first location was full of neglected reptiles, rabbits, and fish in their warehouse location that reeked of dead fish and feces. Not a single reptile is being properly cared for. It was so bad I immediately had to evacuate the building.Tanks had filth INSIDE AND OUT. Reptiles left in tanks that haven't been cleaned in lord knows how long, with inadequate lighting. Some reptiles were lucky to have 1 heating lamp but no UVB and some reptiles had no lighting at all. Rabbits were left to crawl around is old feces when in proper houseing.... that's when the rabbits weren't left in tiny bird cages feet off the ground with tons of bird toys still filling the cages. Their feces falling from above cages into the lower cages filled with baby bunnies and bird toys.The pictures attached are from their location next to Game Xchange. The work sat leaned back in his chair with no attempt being made to upkeep any of the tanks in the facility. While they had a great many options, I would only ever buy from them to save one of these neglected animals from this awful business. The fact they have 2 locations in this state in Cookeville is a crying shame.I will try to go back and get pictures from the 1st location that is in so much worse condition.

Do not support this business. They have a second location at 215 S Jefferson Ave. The condition the animals live in is absolutely grotesque! ESPECIALLY the chinchillas! They look poorly taken care of, the cages are so messy!, they have birds living in cages on top of them, they don’t have real dust baths (they are just REALLY DIRTY jars), there isn’t enough space in the cages for them, they look depressed, it’s also way too hot for them in there. If I could save them I would. DO BETTER! A LOT BETTER! If you have the money to open up ANOTHER location, you’d think you’d have the money to actually I don’t know… TAKE CARE OF THE ANIMALS!

I got said that this my first time into this shop. I feel sorry for all the fish and animals their. The t.anks where so disgusting. Im surprised that they still have live fish. Price where outrageous.

I have purchased a few fish and some plants from them. They always have a good selection of fish to choose from. I didn’t realize until today that they have 2 locations. We went to the other location today. It had all kinds of other items for sale as well. They had records, games, both vintage and retro items, household items, etc… I definitely recommend checking them out. They definitely have all your fish needs.

Coming from an experienced aquarist this place is pretty great most people don’t understand that fish tanks don’t need to be cleaned and cleaned and cleaned what you loose when you clean is a lot of good bacteria that helps breakdown ammonia nitrite and nitrate . These tanks are heathy and there husbandry skills are on point and out of all the money I have spent at this place I have never had a disease outbreak or anything in any of my 25 personal tanks. The reptiles and chinchillas are also kept way better than most places. If you go to petco and petsmart and see that and think that’s the correct way YOU ARE WRONG.

We had an amazing experience at this location. Not only did we find everything we were looking for but the staff is very friendly and very helpful. I would recommend everyone to at least stop in, because they have everything from fish to pets to retro items. Items for the kids to us Gen X folks and Amazing prices.

lots of merchandise in a small space. what makes the store is the friendliness of the staff. Payton was patient as we asked questions he's probably heard a million times. his knowledge and willingness to share was much appreciated.

Then old man said I dropped merchandise when I said I wish u didn’t drop it he started cussing me out do you remember cussing me out owner of age of aquariums. So you didn’t cuss me ? Now he is calling me a liar and don’t worry ole drunk guy I will never step foot in your nasty store again. But he did cuss me out because he dropped my merchandise he don’t tell the truth. The guy dropped it and I will repost this everyday til he tells public he dropped my merchandise and he cussed me.

Great selection! And the turtle "ponds" are so cool. When I was there, they had the most adorable baby turtles.Both locations are amazing! There is so much to choose from for all your aquarium needs. One of the locations even has some reptiles, bunnies, and other animals, AND records and video games! Best of both worlds! The people who work there are so helpful and friendly.

I will say I do appreciate a business that is willing to make a situation right. We bought some fish on one occasion and had a misunderstanding but Payton tracked me down and made it right. I do appreciate an honorable company. We always enjoy visiting their locations and looking at their fish. Always polite and kind, professional as well. EDITED TO ADD RESPONSE BELOWI was a frequent customer, bought about 100-200 feeder fish every couple weeks. Up until the owner asked me who was suppling the fish before I chose to come to them. After telling him we went to Petsmart, but switched so we could support a local business, he told us to go back to Petsmart. We almost always left some fish in the feeder tanks (so there were some for other people) so it was shocking and odd to hear a business ask for me to stop supporting them. I was never rude, never caused issues, it was always show my kids the animals then get my fish and leave.Be weary of shopping here the reviews aren’t lying, the living conditions of these animals is not okay. The only time I bought a fish that was not a feeder, it died the next day. They did a water sample from my tank and it showed no signs that would do harm to the fish..luckily I got my $40 back.We went to the super pet store location where they did not have any feeders in stock, then had the guy working call the other location to confirm there were Over 200 fish before we drove over there. After CONFIRMING that he had enough, we drove over, only to be told everything I stated above.

this place is awful, they have stacked cages of chinchillas with moldy water bottles and wire bottoms, AND no water. most of the fish tanks are disgusting. This place should ABSOLUTELY be shut down. its straight up animal abuse.

Not here to bash, but conditions are NOT OKAY for fish and reptiles. Doors open on a day where it is too cold for those reptiles and not all of them had heat lamps on. Cages stacked and not clean. Lower your inventory if you cannot take care of the amount of animals you have. Please.

Saddest pet store I’ve ever been in. I feel so awful for all of the animals in this store. Almost every tank and cage was absolutely disgusting. Some animals had no water. Some animals, who REQUIRE a heating lamp, had no heating lamp. Very sad.

Zero stars if I could. Absolutely terrible. All the animals are completely neglected. Multiple dead fish, had to point out a dead turtle to an employee who took it out with his hand and put it in a trach can.. None of the fish had clean tanks black algae covered glass or murky water in all the tanks,including the axolotl. Leopard gecko had a fresh tail snap from tail rot. Another was in its water dish caust they had a high wattage bulb on a smaller containerWould never suggest buying anything.

I was looking for a good place to buy some pet fish, I came across this place and immediately hesitated to purchase any because of how green and dirty the tanks were. Some of the tanks were so cluttered with decorations the fish could barely move. Although there is a fairly good selection I still am not sure of the cleanliness and health of the fish. Also, I just googled the store to see the reviews and came across a reply from. The owner, not very professional, if that's the way customers are treated there I will definitely take my business elsewhere 🤔

The coolest fish store ever. The guy who runs it is super cool with an extensive knowledge about any sort of fish and how to keep them healthy and happy. Every time we visit, there's always some new exotic fish we've never seen before. If you ask nicely, maybe he'll feed a carnivorous fish while you're there. Very cool to watch if you have the chance.

I have shopped at this store for almost 20 years. Great and friendly service. Awesome prices! Very knowledgeable about the products they carry. The fish or accessories I have purchased there have always been in perfect condition. I have always had good luck with the fish I have purchased. Never had a sick fish or never had one to die after I got them home. I will continue to shop here. Small family business with great customer service. The variety of fish or other animals they may have is amazing!! I recommend every one to shop here!
