I purchased one bearded dragon and an Iguana from here. And I love them both to death. The knowledge the staff has about there reptiles is emense and they are very helpful. Thank you Franklin Aquarium for all of your help.

Had a customer come into our pet store here in alabama that had come from your establishment after buying a pacman frog and i was disappointed in the info you gave these guys. You guys house all your pacmans in nothing but water and a piece of decor, and you're feeding them FISH as their main diet. This is a no no. Feeder fish are not a healthy staple diet for pacmans (or most species of frog) and on top of that they are not aquatic they need moist substrate. You can easily tell if a frog is aquatic by their feet (webbed/ not webbed). These guys lack webbed feet and are terrible swimmers. Now this customer has had this baby pacman for 2 weeks and it's not eating what it's supposed to. A baby like this needs food at least twice daily. Please think about adding substrate to the enclosures and changing up their diets. This is a BURROWING species of frog, and they burrow most of their lives so they need at least an inch or more of dirt to naturally burrow and hide. The photo provided is one from where I work. This is the more proper setup, at least while they're waiting to get bought. They are fed crickets. They're doing great and are very lively.

It was a rough transition from Mike to his son but it's worked out well in the long run. I anticipate it'll only get better from here.The staff here are always super nice. Sasha is my favorite and is always very knowledgeable since she's been around the company for years.

This place is phenomenal! The have a wide selection of animal products. The store is always clean. The employees are super knowledgeable, helpful, kind & always go above and beyond for our pets and us. Literally have nothing negative to say about them. Definitely the place to go. 10/10, would highly recommend.

Fantastic shop and super kind and helpful employees. Prices can get high if it's not the actual pets, but no judgement--gotta make a profit somehow. I regularly shop here for my fish, and I love that there's almost always what I need in stock. Just like with any pet store, make sure to take the proper steps with new fish--no one is exempt from the occasional case of ich or otherwise sick baby. Though, if that happens, contact them/return to the store for a replacement/refund!

Ended up with 2 dead Bettas, there were many dead ones on display, and still on display when I came in to replace the fish. Best I could figure from Google is a fungus infection, since the fish were covered in furry stuff after passing. Messaged their Facebook about the whole thing and sent pictures of the fish. No one ever replied. I did tell them not to sign me up for their recurring stuff so they may have took that as a don't call me or contact me but still. Pretty shady behavior. Went to pet smart and got one, he's doing fine. So not sure how it could've been my water mixture and my original bettas water was done same way, same chemicals. No one wanted to talk about so either way, no thanks

These guys have amazing customer service. It's almost like stepping into the past. They greet you at the door and are very knowledgeable about the different varieties of pets they have. Exotic pet food they have. Exotic pets they have them to.

This company gets 1 star for me. I'm pretty sure some of the reviews on here are fake. We bought a total now of three black fin shark (catfish) every single one are sick or dead. Everytime we talk to someone about the fish. They say bring in water sample. Each time there is nothing wrong with the sample. How as a customer do expect to have respect for employees or even management know less about the fish than you do. We researched it a million times and takes to a vet. These fish are being sold as fresh water. In reality they need salt water. Though they said if they were born in fresh water they can maintain in fresh water.ITS A LIE‼️ They only go to freshwater to spawn. When that is over they return back to (SALT WATER). They are found in areas where salt water and fresh water collide but never mixes. Please if you get attached to your fish, and you are because they are your pets. Then PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHOP!!!!!!! Go somewhere that has more knowledge about the fish they sale. They are Friendly people just not really educated on all the species of fish! When money is being spent we need more than friendliness!

I highly recommend visiting Franklin Aquarium Pet Shop. The staff is friendly and attentive to customers. There is a wide array of fish,pets and supplies. If you stop by be sure to check out the fountain for some amazing fish. We will be shopping there more. No more big store chains for us.

I've been going to this pet shop since I was around 10 years old, I still to this day do the majority of my shopping there, mostly for freshwater fish and equipment. Although slightly more expensive than your major brand stores, it is a home town family business, and I would much rather do my business with them.

So I had heard mixed reviews on this shop before we went. I was extremely impressed with them. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable of all things fish. They also helped me find a fish that I wanted that was no longer in stock anywhere. It came in quickly, and they called me. They've always been extremely patient with my kids and their love of all animals. They Offer a week return if the fish dies within that time. I know that's shorter than The Box stores, but their fish have lasted much longer than the ones I bought from the Box store. They seem much healthier. Will definitely be going back.

Good pet store the take good care of the animals and greet you when you enter. Most of the staff are friendly and warm while others are cold and off putting but will help you anyway. Mike is great guy has very knowledgeable staff. They have a ample supply of various items.

My daughter is 3 and her hamster ended up passing. So we had to get another, she was so upset .. These ppl are super nice and helpful! Every question I asked she was more than willing to assist any anyway she could and knew the answer to all my question. I ended up getting the cutest little winter dawf hamster! This place was well worth the drive (almost 2 hrs one way). They take good care of the aquariums and aquatic creatures, as well as the other creatures in the shop. The people are nice and helpful. We were there to get saltwater fish, and we will be back.
