We took in a stray dog, and they were all so kind. They answered all my questions, made sure he was healthy. We love our Kronos and so glad we chose Clinton Animal Hospital.

Usually go to them for my large parrots but we had an emergency like status with my dog Angel and we called them. They worked me in and had me in and out within 20 minutes…. SAME DAY! They are always gentle and very knowledgeable. Angel and my family thanks you Clinton Animal Clinic!

I gave the vet and director of the animal hospital MORE THAN ENOUGH time to do the right thing, had a meeting with the vet, director and multiple conversations with the office manager. Unfortunately, doing the right thing isn’t of importance to this practice. The vet is no longer at the practice, she was working out her notice when she seen our dog on 11/20. She recently transferred from the Clinton area to Hardin Valley. This isn’t solely about the vet, it’s also about the director of the practice. He underwent surgery 11/20 for a possible obstruction, leading up to the surgery a barium study was performed, the vet told me the ONLY option was to perform surgery. I put my trust in her and the practice, unfortunately. The surgery resulted in nothing, no obstruction, no foreign body. This result of a negative explore was not discussed prior to surgery. The vet said surgery was the ONLY option we had due to an obstruction. We experienced inadequate communication throughout the entire process from the vet in Clinton. To recap:* The only treatment option that was discussed was surgery.* The possibilities of having a negative explore was not discussed.* We were told that Winnie would "need to stay overnight” prior to surgery. The fact that none of the staff would be there to monitor overnight was not discussed.* Additional diagnostics prior to surgery such as bloodwork or referral for ultrasound should have been offered to help determine necessity of surgery, which was not discussed or offered.* Potential surgical outcomes, such as negative explore and complications was not discussed.* Alternative ways to manage his case such as managing him medically then repeating the radiographs was not discussed.* Potential GI stasis diagnosis was not discussed.* Offered transfer to UT without calling UT to check capacity prior to speaking us only to find out that UT was at capacity, no kennel large enough for Winnie. In our meeting with the vet and the director, the director made a point to mention that I "signed" for our dog to have surgery which I did not. The exact verbiage was “but you signed for him to have surgery?” I verified with the office on 11/27/23 that I was not given an informed consent form or any type of written communication. Not only did I not receive any of the above information verbally, nor did I receive any written documentation or an informed consent regarding surgical outcomes. Also suffered from barium induced peritonitis that contributed to multiple liters of fluid that had to be removed during his 7 day ICU level stay at a different facility. Barium that was left in the abdominal cavity from surgery. I have spoken to numerous other vets that have mentioned multiple other treatment plan options that could have been presented. All this to say, be very cautious who you take your fur babies to in Clinton/Hardin Valley. We almost lost ours. I don’t want anyone to go through what we had to go through. We also had to spend over $10,000+ to save our baby.EDIT TO ADD: The response I'm assuming is written by the director or the office manager (director's wife.) Key point - we wouldn't have realized that NEITHER written nor verbal treatment options were given to us. My husband and I both were in the room when the director said “but you signed for him to have surgery?” This statement is what made me realize that we in fact did not sign, nor were we given verbal potential treatments plans or potential outcomes of a negative explore. I absolutely would have went elsewhere if I had known the vet didn't communicate any of the above information. The office manager herself stated in a phone call that they were "looking into reporting her actions" and "were going to call her new employer to make them aware of her actions."

IF YOU LOVE YOUR PETS AND TRUST THESE VETS PLEASE READ THIS LONG REVIEW. Got an 8 week old German Shepherd puppy on 10/20/18. Brought her here for the "puppy package” on 11/03/18. Then again on 11/24/18 for the rest of her vaccinations and rabies shot. We've used these vets for years for our cats. Never had a problem. Trusted these people BUT We never had an emergency. Brought here back 03/05/19 for a spider bite. Great care. Then March 30 & 31st our baby got sick. Was throwing up and got very weak. We brought her here on April 1st. They did an x-ray and said she had swallowed fabric, probably socks, but definitely fabric and she needed a surgery to remove the objects immediately. Paid $1052 so they would start surgery. My wife called several times during the day for updates. Finally talked to " vet tech" who said there were objects but she'd let the vet talk to us. We get there and there was no fabric. She said it was tapeworms. I asked to see them and they brought out a worm on gauze in a bag about 2 inches long. Said they didn't get them all. Also they didn't worm her even though they wormed her as a puppy and sold us 6 month supply of tri heart. Said they nicked her spleen during surgery and bleed heavily. Then after sewing her up checked to see if she was still bleeding internally with a needle. Said she got blood but might have hit the spleen again. Wanted us to take her to the ER for the night but we couldn't afford it. $739 more. Sent this puppy home on gurney and wanted her back the next morning. She woke up at 4 in the morning and was walking around. We sat up crying over her all night. Took her back the next morning so they could give her fluids. Now we walked her in on a leash. When we picked her up she was covered in urine where no one let her out all day. $255. We had to beg for medicines or any aftercare instructions. 2 days later she was throwing up and shaking again. Just like before this surgery. We went back and they gave us a prescription for more pain meds. Now to make a very long story short, we took her to another vet and found out the surgery was unnecessary. She has kidney disease. She wasn't in pain, she was having seizures. Found out thru 2 different vets that tapeworms couldn't cause a blockage. She's being treated and is doing good. We found out that their ultrasound machine was broken and they just made a wild guess. Fabric doesn't show up on an x-ray. They stated in her medical records that we said she had swallowed socks. What they didn't know at the time is that we recorded every conversation because we were scared we'd forget something important since we were so upset. We've been told how the owners love animals so much that they would never allow this to happen and to contact them. So we did. My wife got ahold of Michelle, 1 of the owners, and told her the story. She acted shocked and said she'd get to the bottom of it. Well she has never as much as called back. Cares so much but they will respond to bad reviews. They rescue "so many animals because they care so much”. Well they didn't give a damn about our precious Sadie!!! It's a felony to abuse an animal. It should be a felony to cut 1 open on a hunch and then lie about it. We are filing a complaint with the Department of Health so at least there will be a record of this so maybe they won't butcher someone else's baby for profit. If anyone has doubts contact me here and I'll gladly send you a copy of the recordings. These people are awful. Update 5/22/19. This is for the owners comment. They have contacted my wife once to say there is an " internal investigation". They are sending the x-rays to a specialist to see if something else could have been done. Apparently the vet they hired couldn't read an x-ray. Another vet saved her. The recordings I have prove I'm telling the truth. PLEASE no more hateful voicemails from Stephen. Start a shelter since you save so many animals. Now that we're telling people about this we know we should have avoided you butchers.

Before Christmas (2021), I took my 10 month old MaltiPoo puppy named Gus to the Clinton Animal Hospital to have the vet look at his back left leg that he would draw up and hobble on when he walked.Dr. Courtney Phillips examined Gus and said that sometimes the knees of small animal breeds pop in and out of place. She did not X-ray his hips or legs. She gave me some nausea pills and some anti inflammatory meds for him to take that did not help at all. He had been hobbling on that leg for several months and it wasn’t getting better . Last Friday I took Gus to see Dr. Osborne at Oliver Springs Small Animal Hospital. She examined him and took X-rays of both hips to compare them. She immediately saw the small fracture at the top of the left hip. It was probably caused by over extending his little leg to go up steps. She splinted his leg for 6 weeks to allow the bone to heal. I am very disappointed in the care he received from Dr. Phillips. I am a new puppy mom and needed help for my Gus!

I just came back from here. I gotta say WOW. Thank you so much for helping my kitty ♡ He turns 12 in March. He is a rescue who is terrified of strangers and gets very aggressive and they handled him with ease. I highly recommend them and the prices were ideal for all they did. Here is a picture of him ♡ his name is Domanik.

Paula groomed my baby Brisco today and she did an amazing job. Paula is meticulous with her grooming and it shows. His cut is perfect and he smells so good! He is always a happy boy when I leave him and when I pick him up. I know that he is loved and cared for while he is with Paula and she is so sweet to send me pictures during his grooming appointment and when he is finished. I just can’t say enough good things about her. We love you Paula!Clay, Barbie and Brisco❤️

Terrible receptionist. Very rude. This is the lady who answers phones as of October 27th 2023. I loathe the fact that a place like this is still in business. I’d rather take my animal to a butcher than to this place because at least at a butcher shop they take care of the animals owners.

Can't even answer the phone by 5:30 even though they close at 6pm. Literally trying to make an appointment but now seems to think the day is over an hour before the shift is supposedly over! I don't know what time zone you guys are in but daylight savings isn't for another 2 months!

The vets here are so kind and knowledgeable. They always fit my dogs in at short notice and are very responsive. Sometimes, they do get busy, but it's understandable. I try to be patient knowing they are helping others too.

My family and I love this place. We’ve been coming here for three-four years. They’re really great with pets. Honestly, I haven’t compared the price to other vets, but I feel like they’re the same or better.

My dog was admitted and stayed several days there, now I'm at the PET EMERGENCY VET! I can't believe yall are in business! As many times as my dogs have been seen there and you did diagnose him with a heart murmur! You quacks are sorry as can be. Charged me over 1000 dollars and didn't catch this! Now at the EMERGENCY vet hoping to save his life and the bill is already over 1,000 and counting because of your negligence! And also having to see a cardiologist to maybe save him!!!!

The actual vet is great but the front desk ppl have left a permanent bad taste in my mouth. I’m still waiting on a phone call w/ an appointment w/ a specialist for my dog.(this is week 3) Mean while I sought a second opinion... I don’t need that appointment anymore b/c Sadie has already had surgery! That’s how bad the customer service is there. They have never made me or my animals feel welcome.. Terry Dziatko has always been the rudest person to me. When I took my dog somewhere else I immediately realized there are actual vets that want our business! It was amazing how welcome they made us feel at the other place. I will never step foot in this office again now that I realize what a “good” vets office entails.**response to response** Please know this isn’t just 1 bad experience. I had been bringing my dogs there for years so my review isn't based off of one “human mistake” but rather the way you treated me and mine through the years. This last issue regarding Sadie needed attention and I was charged $50 (twice in 10 days) for someone to make an appointment w/ a specialist (which still hasn’t happened...) Thank God I took her somewhere else where she has had the surgery. (and they weren’t even specialist at UT)Nothing unethical about naming someone’s name on a Google review especially when they work with the public. I got her name right off your website so if it offends her maybe take her name down. She might love animals but her people skills are seriously lacking. She was extremely rude to me all the time & snubbed her nose at me constantly. Honestly the way you responded to my review by SCREAMIiNG at me instead of just apologizing to me for my experiences there over the years is validation that I did the right thing by switching doctors. Oh and let me be clear that this is MRS. BOND writing this review!
