DO NOT TAKE ANY ANIMALS HERE!!!! I know that their facebook page looks all pretty and everything but the people that work here DO NOT care about these animals at all! They also do not care about you or whatever reasoning you may have to be needing to surrender an animal to them and will find ANY REASON not to help you or give you addtional resources! They also secretly EUTHANIZE the poor animals that THEY don't deem deserving of a second chance. They find any reason and/or excuse to euthanize animals and this should be investigated. I know from personal stories I have been told and seriously people do your selves the favor to try finding a new home for your pets elsewhere. Let this place be shut down or bring in new management that actually care about the well being of the animals they are overlooking.

If I could give zero stars, I would! These people that work here do not care for these animals. I will never understand why people put themselves in the position to euthanize poor animals. I don’t understand how they sleep at night with that on their conscientious! If I were you I would demand a free adoption! Don’t give them money! They euthanize these animals and don’t keep the community in the loop.

I had a wonderful experience adopting one of their cats. I would 100% recommend adopting from them everyone that I spoke to was very nice and polite.

Had a trap laid today and the officer divulged information to neighbors, and as soon as he left all Hell broke out in this community. You try and do this the legal way by the law freaking people screaming people threatening all because they are feeding these cats seriously 😒

Considering the obvious lack of resource/funding, it is very clear that the personnel try to do everything they can to have these animals in a healthy environment and help them find a "fur-ever" home. However, it isn't without its issues. First and foremost, the most jarring issue I have with this shelter is the fact any animal, once ready for adoption, can be adopted by the first person to show up. That's right-- first come, first served. This is a problem in my experience because this is not the best way to ensure an animal goes to the correct home. While it is true that animals undergo all of the basic procedures required for adoption, not just ANY person can own any particular kind of breed of animal. Every single animal has a unique situation to them and while the prospect owner may be happy they get to walk away with the animal they wanted, the animal may end up stuck with someone who isn't fit for taking care of said animal. Ignorance is the number one problem when it comes to ownership of a pet. A first come, first serve system is counter-intuitive to everything an animal shelter is supposed to represent. All of that aside, you can make a difference by adopting animals from here. Or working as a volunteer or with one of the many volunteer groups. More importantly, you can object the notion of a first come, first served system and help ensure animals find the correct homes for them. After all, a person being first and with 50$ at hand should not be all that is expected to properly care for any animal.

Hey don't care about animals. If you did you would not kill them . Why can't you let people adopted without charging 125.00 to 175.00 if the dog or cat is on death roll let someone adopted for 20.00 price of shots . We need better for our animals..

Do not take dogs here if they are lost or a stray dog this is not kill free place. You have to play the system to make sure these animals do not have to die. Repeat do not take stray dogs here try find a rescue place that can take them instead.

I just wanted to address a few inaccuracies in these reviews.Alexander Rosado and Debbie Jenkins-- I think you may be conflating the efforts of a separate organization, Cleveland for a No Kill City with Cleveland Animal Control. The posting online, sharing of the animals, contacting rescues, finding fosters, transport, etc., is not done by Cleveland Animal Control. There have been no actual moves by the governing body of Cleveland Animal Control to become a No Kill shelter.Addressing mentions of the adoption fee being high. It's $50, which includes spay/neuter, shots and wormer. It's a very reasonable price for the services rendered, and the entire fee goes to the vet.

My husband and I lost one of our dog and we had a place in our hearts to fill, so I went to Cleveland Animal Shelter and found our Hank. It was a Wonderful experience and I recommend this place to everyone. They really care about making a difference in the animals they come in contact with... Shelia and Steve

A great place to adopt a pet for a reasonable price. And that includes a visit to the Vet for your pet at no extra cost. They should have it to where if you don't like your pet after a certain period of time. You could trade for another or receive a voucher if one is not found.

Cost me 40$ to get a dog. The dog had been fixed, rabies shots, and a clean bill of health from a local vet. I got to personally escort the dog from the shelter to the vet for the checkup and rabies vac. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, and professional.

Needs to be more on top of the stray dogs n cats situation.Especially around the Aurora Ave St area.Ppl just let their dogs run loose when it IS the City Law to keep them in a fence or on a leash.

We just got our new doggie from them. They were very nice. they let us spend time with her and did not pressure or guilt us into it. This was our first night together and we could not be any happier.
