Hilltop SupermarketOnce a small store now somethingAnd honestly it’s deserved Previously located across the street under a different owner Mike and his son Cody Jackson bought the store and now his son Cody has taken ownership of the store while his father takes his well deserved retirement. I found out about the store 3 years ago when I applied for a job and I still happily work there during college winter and summer break. The store itself prides itself on a costumer’s experience and make sure they feel like family. And in the time I’ve been there I feel Hilltop has held to this well with offered cashiers and baggers, assistance with carts being taken out for customers. The departments are well maintained. The store generally looks very presentable. The prices aren’t the cheapest but it’s family owned store and they do give the best price they can. But the true shine for prices is produce and meat. The produce department sources a lot of fresh produce from local farms ensuring a lower price and better quality. The meat department does the same. I personally think Hilltop is great and that’s not just favoring because I work there. I legitimately enjoy the environment and shop there myself as opposed to Walmart. I prefer to support local stores and make sure my money is going to those I can see and know that I’m supporting quality.

It’s rare today to find a grocery store this large that’s independently owned. What’s even more rare is to find one where every staff member reflects exceptional customer service. From finding items, to special orders, to getting checked out and helped to your car. Regardless of the type of service received anywhere today, it makes a difference when you’re cared for. Plenty of parking and the store stays clean.

Prices are competitive and the sales are great. But what makes shopping there a pleasure are the employees. They present with a positive attitude and are eager to assist you. From unloading your cart for the cashier to repeatedly offering to take the cart to your and load the purchases into your car. It is always a pleasure to shop there.

Hilltop market made the most beautiful wedding cake for our daughter's wedding today. It tasted fantastic. It was delivered on time and was just perfect. I recommend them for any cake needs.

This review could either be 3 or 5 stars depending on the customers appreciation for quaint, family-owned businesses. The staff is friendly. With regard to the presentation of the store, there are a few modernities that one could either find the store to be lacking. But, the staff and overall feel of the experience easily makes up for such things.

They are the only store which give little kids mini strollers when we go shopping.Kids are so happy to visit there.They don't have much products on sale but you always can get what you want.Their pharmacy is nice too.the staffs are very nice and friendly.

LOVE the meat sales they have. Always a good time to stock up on things. Always a very friendly and courteous staff. Very appreciative of the younger folks employed there too. It's great to see these well mannered and professionally behaved young people in today's society.

The store is great. The prices are low and the food is good quality. The only thing I have a problem with is the eggs. I have bought eggs on 3 separate occasions ,( they were collected late) and they had blood in them. Also I'm not crazy about feeling like I have to tip them. I like unloading my own shopping cart and taking it to the car myself. They seem so disappointed when they ask you if they can take it out and you say no. Sometimes all you have is grocery money and nothing left over.

Employees are always friendly, and this is the best place to buy your meats hands down. The deli is a little lacking, but the produce section more than makes up for it. Quality place to do your grocery shopping.

Friendly service, not a big box so it's a nice size, great sales especially on meat and you must try the fried chicken from the deli if you like such things. They are eager to cut meat to your liking when butcher is working. Did I mention great sales?

Great place to shop everyone is very friendly. Great hot plates in the deli ! Also a couple of months ago the deli made a cake in memory of my mother in law it was so amazing. We didn't have the heart to cut it so it's in the freezer.

Not as cheap as Food Lion, but has an outstanding meat selection with top-quality cuts. It also is a great place to get custom birthday cakes that taste better than anywhere else. Definitely a go-to place for anything on your list.

I drove about 29 miles off of a referral from a gent I had just met at Publix. He said the meat was the best and priced way less then Publix. We get in there and the meats were awful. We bought what we thought would be good and each package had old smelling meat, it wasn’t even edible. The staff there was nice and the place was clean. I’d def pass on the meat, we wasted $60.00...

they deli is awful the employees don't want to be bothered. You will stand there and watch them turn there heads and look back like they don't see you they look at each other wondering who going to move and help the customer , then you get an attitude from them , like duh if it wasn't for us customers you lazy people wouldn't have a job I would suggest stoping at the local fast food you get better customer service something you won't get from the deli .

The Hilltop Market is well stocked and conveniently located for people living in the Palmyra/Cunningham area. They have a dollar wall that is well stocked with great snacks and a variety of products. Employees are super friendly and the whole shopping experience is worth the trip

They are a family-friendly place and they make sure you are well taken care of.The deli is open early for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.Today I spent $185.00. I not only shopped, but also loaded everything onto the belt to be scanned and then asked if I needed help taking my groceries to my car. I refused, because I did everything else, why stop now. 2 baggers...1 was bagging while talking to the other as he was chugging his chocolate milk.If you are choosing kids to work, then they should be supervised. 🤔😬

I believe you can tell the quality of a grocery store by their produce department. If it's clean, neat, and organized with the freshest looking fruit and vegetables, The whole store usually is. I was not disappointed by Hilltop. I was very impressed in my first trip there. They also have great deals and a very friendly staff!

We we're picking up a cake and stood in front of the bakery for about 2 minutes. 3 people back there just ignoring us. I finally said excuse me and they all looked at my like I was an annoyance. One guy said yeah what do you need, rudely. I told him I was picking up a cake my daughter in law had order. They were all very snippy. Think I'll find a nicer place to order from.

I recently started shopping at this grocery store and have to say I'll be going back regularly from now on. I'm impressed by the wonderful customer service, fresh produce, and cleanliness of it. I recently bought my husband a birthday cake from the bakery. Let me tell you, it was delicious and you could taste real strawberries!

Had a great shopping experience today. A very nice woman in the Deli assisted me with cold meats and cheese. The bagger, Issac, unloaded my cart and took bags to car for me. Cashier Skylar was friendly and professional. All in all Hilltop exceeded my expectations today! Thank you!

The quality and prices of the meats here are very good. The meat cutters slice hams and whole sirloin, ribeyes to your specifications without any extra charges. The employees are friendly and usually unload your cart onto the conveyor. The baggers carry your groceries to your car and unload them. The employees provide a high level of service that is no longer found in the bigger stores. The store carries a lot of products that aren't found elsewhere. The shopping experience is worth driving out of your way.

Prices are ehhh. Can get cheaper on certain items if you want to travel out some. Meat sale prices make it worth it. Not the greatest selection, however has what you need atleast. Store looks clean and pretty well organized.

Change of shopping experience! Did not like the fact that we walked by the deli section and the girl behind the counter asked if the "4 of yall are together"...referring to myself, my mom, my niece and a random Black man that walked by! Found that to be rude AF!

Very friendly, helpful staff. Products well placed and easy to find. There is a good variety of reasonably priced products. While many grocery stores put generics on the bottom shelf, Hilltop has an entire $1 section right up front! The hot deli is true southern home cooked meals! REAL mashed potatoes, green beans with smoked meat, etc...Their fresh baked goods are fantastic. Skilled butcher always more than happy to help you with any requests or questions you may have. The store is fairly large with all the newest items, yet has kept the small business feeling.
