I have never had a good experience at a vet clinic until I came to Shallowford. Every person from reception vet techs to Dr. Perry was so kind and informative. My pup had to have a procedure on his ear and they were so gentle and educational and overall wonderful. Not to mention, they have payment plan options. I cannot recommend Shallowford enough!

When I adopted my kitties in 2022 I asked a family friend, a longtime resident of Chattanooga who started Southern Comfort Maltese Rescue, which vet she recommended and, without hesitation, she said Shallowford Animal Hospital. I live in North Chattanooga and my friend lived in Hixson, so this was not a convenient choice for either of us, but I could not be happier with Shallowford. They are a very warm and caring group, from the front desk to the top vets. They have an excellent payment plan, with 3-4 different levels, and they do not try to talk you into the most expensive option. In fact, of the three cats I adopted, one is quite elderly and I was ready to invest in the most expensive level of their care packages, but they felt that wasn’t necessary and she is on the same level as the other two. And the payment plans are just an option if you are interested; not a requirement of any sort. I’ve had dentals done, emergency appointments when they work me in, regular scheduled appointments; I have interacted with the different doctors who specialize in different areas of veterinary medicine … It’s a great Veteranary hospital.

Ashley is an awesome groomer. We had taken our long haired German shepherd to several different groomers and couldn’t get the results we wanted. Lucy came out looking like a show dog.

I have been bringing my cats and dogs here for 10+ years, and I've always been happy with their service. They recently brought in a couple new vets and they are fantastic also. Even the front desk staff make it easy to schedule 10 appointments at once. Even with urgent issues I can almost always get an appointment within 24 hours.

The veterinarians have always been professional and helpful. I felt like my dog was getting quality care there.The front desk staff on the other hand were rude and tried to play off a blatant mistake they made by trying to shift the blame on me for not answering my phone. I had a busy day in the office and reached out directly after.There are better vets in Chattanooga that value both customer service and professionalism.

Overall, they encourage communication through their website, but the receptionists responses are scatterbrained and difficult. Once you get to see the vet, the vets are great, helpful and know their stuff. The costs are prohibitive, but probably competitive. It is what it is! There is a slight discount for seniors... but you have to ask for it. This is our last rescue dog. No wonder animal shelters remain full. People simply can't afford the price of vet care, and the necessary vaccines.

People are nice there but that’s about it. Brought my dog in for our first visit for an eye scratch. Wasn’t prescribed the proper medication so it turned into an ulcer. Back he went for another hefty charge and needed to go back for a follow up. Eye was not progressing very well so tried to make the apt for an earlier date. Showed up and they didn’t have his apt in the system. Left after an hour very unsatisfied with this clinic.

I brought my kitten, Caramel today as we found worms. The staff was so professional and friendly. I was anxious, but they scheduled my appointment right away. My Caramel was giving the vet techs kisses as she got her vaccine! Very very pleased with my experience and so happy to have found them.

The doctors are very knowledgeable and have always gotten back with me when they've said they would. Appointments are easy to make, and the staff are friendly and helpful. They have helped my Yorkie with her allergies and incontinence by perscribing the right medicines and they always check up on her after every visit. I highly recommend them to anyone.

We love Shallowford Animal Hospital! Today, we saw Dr. Hamilton and the tech Jillian. From start to finish, we were in wow! My boy is a little over 1 now. We have been through 3 different vets because we have just not found the “right” fit (in nicer words). No one has taken the time of day, the few places we have been there in and out within 5 mins after waiting for at least 20. My boy is special and requires a little extra love (as most animals do). When I first called to make the appt., nothing but knowledge, friendliness, helpful tips, etc. to calm my nerves until he could come in. As Jillian triaged him, she really listened to us and asked all the right questions to really get to know who Loui is, very thorough, so smart, friendly, and just so sweet (pretty funny too)! Then Dr. Hamilton came in, because of previous experiences I surely thought she’d be in and out. She walked in, sat on the floor and examined Loui, talked to him first and then proceeded and as she did, she talked us through the process what she was doing, why, etc. the whole time. She started from his head all the way to his little paws, even saying “so she didn’t miss anything” and she didn’t, she pointed out things that I didn’t even realize. She was in our room with our pup for at LEAST 30 mins, if not longer. I seriously couldn’t be more impressed with her knowledge, the care, willingness to educate us, etc. Upon leaving, Jillian came back in, made sure we understood treatment and reviewed pricing with us (also going the extra mile to help keep things at a good price) Loui has finally found his home for the extra care he deserves, when he’s a sick boy.. I really feel comfortable with his care in their hands. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. A M A Z I N G!

Love the preventative care plan they offer.Update from visit 4/6/2022After 2 grooming fails at other places, I took my baby back to SAH and she came out beautifully. She looked like a different dog and her behavior told me that she felt better. Dr. Mabe, one of the founders, has given my dogs excellent care and is caring for the parents as well.

The Doctors and staff are EXCELLENT at what they do. I cannot think them enough for helping my sister and I end the suffering of her little dog Puppy. She was 15 years old and suffering. They helped her get to Heaven and now we know all of her pain is gone... I loved how they explained everything to us beforehand and how they genuinely cared for us and our pet....
