The store itself is fine but for those in search of a cat beware because the lady who is selling them is doing so with them being sick. Apparently has been doing it for quite some time. There have been others who have noticed as well. The store hasn't (or maybe won't) do anything other than give her a slap on the wrist. The biggest red flag for me is that she's offering a first time vet visit with each adoption. This woman shouldn't be allowed to do that as it could lead to other animals getting sick as well. I've done as an employee suggested & reported her to corporate but I'm not sure what good it'll do. Either way she needs to be stopped. And I'm hoping that if enough people are told then hopefully they'll do something to save these innocent lives. Below are pictures of the last 2 that I'll ever get from her.

Bought two fish from here and put them in a tank with other fish of mine that have been alive and fine for some time. When introducing the fish from here ALL the fish in my tank died. Had to drive over an hour back to this store only to be told they won’t honor their return on the fish without a water sample. A water sample that they do not inform you of needing when purchasing and the requirement is not included in the return policy paperwork on the receipt. Way to sell likely sick fish and not honor your return policy. I’ll shop elsewhere from now on.

Was treated very poorly by the employee. Bought $30 worth of dead snails. Left a review on their website to give me a call. The District manager called and said they would replace my snails and that they were sorry for the way I was treated. I never got a call back from the district manager or got my snails replaced. Bad experience and was treated very poorly. Save your money shop elsewhere.

I forgot what time the store closed and showed up 30 minutes after closing for my pick up order. Not only did an employee answer the phone after hours, but he was willing to bring my order out to me. I wish I had got his name, but I really appreciated it.

Carlie in grooming is a MAGIC WORKER! My dogs love her and they are always looking fresh when they leave. Request her for grooming and Petco needs to give her a raise ✨

We took our dog here for grooming because they had availability. We normally go to the Fort O location. My dogs nose was not clean although the rest of her seems to be.Your best option is to go to the Fort O location. It’s worth the extra drive.

Great store. They had the crushed coral I needed. Employee here was doing an amazing job..she was answering phones, running the register, and assisting customers with finding products..all with a great attitude and a smile!!

I love going to this store because they are always helpful. The Fort Oglethorpe store the employees are rude and will not help me. And I live close to the Fort Oglethorpe store.

Me and my fiancé came buy the store to purchase the pair of green arrow frogs (dart frogs) , both since they were companions . The staff was helpful and very friendly .They were both alive and moving . We got (i believe ) a manager to help us and when she Grabbed the first one , she didn’t try to scoop it or handle carefully at all; Knowing how delicate and tiny these babies are. She ended up squishing the frog and killing it, right in-front of us. She then grabbed the second frog and put it in a small container . We happily took the second frog out of their care. Now he’s alone and waiting for another friend. She wasn’t wearing any gloves at all or taking any precautions . We’re very upset , being amphibians lovers, i don’t understand how someone could be so uneducated on their job. Ignorance should not be tolerated at a job with beating hearts. We will be going to the petsmart next door from now on.

The groomers are a JOKE. I brought my 10-month old cavapoo in for her first real haircut this morning. I could see 2 groomers giggling while a small doodle sat waiting for them to finish her groom. The lady groomer came out and greeted us, and after checking our rabies paperwork, starts to check us in.There’s a room behind her with animals barking that we couldn’t see, which encouraged my dog to sniff and occasionally whine during the check in process. She was curious, this is a new place.The lady groomer asked us to wait while she went to chat with the male groomer. He came out, grabbed my dog’s paw (which made her whine) without letting her sniff him. He then looked up at me and said he wouldn’t be grooming her, almost sarcastically. I just kinda looked at him, waiting for the “just kidding!” that never came. He finally said “no, not with her acting like that.”I was flabbergasted. My sweet cavapoo was nervous but no where near aggressive. She whined hearing the dogs in the back barking.. I think that’s more than fair?If there’s a policy that dogs must be silent and not sniff, that should be made clear when booking, but I’m positive there’s no such policy because I heard aggressive dogs in the back.This experience has guaranteed I will no longer support petco in any way. Not only me. I’ve posted this in a pet owners group to warn them, and have received several messages and comments from owners that will stand in solidarity with us.Oh & Petsmart was able to get us in the same day. My pup passed their assessment with flying colors and received a full service groom for the same price.GO TO PETSMART, stay away from Petco!

Have a 55 gallon tank with about 10 community fish in it for about a year. Thought I’d go and get a few more. Will NEVER get any from this store again. After adding four from this store to my tank I now only have four living fish in my tank. None of them are the ones bought here.

So I have a ten gallon fishtank. I bought a betta fish and some live plants and let him live in the tank by himself for like a week, because I had heard that male betta fish were known to be aggressive. However, I noticed that he was quite docile, and so when I went to PetSmart to get him some more food and filters, the employees told us that we could add a few neon tetras to the tank, and that it should be alright. So, we added three to the tank with the betta, and they got along great!! Fast forward to a month later, the tank started to get quite a bit of algae, so we did some research and found out that we could add a mystery snail. So we did. The betta never fought with any of the other fish, and even shared his food with them. A year later, we notice that the snail had gotten a lot bigger and that the algae was returning, we do a little bit more research and find out that we can add a pleco to the tank. We bought a pleco fish, and decided that would be the last fish we would add. We added the pleco fish, and boight so algae pellets, just incase it ran outta algae to eat between the shail and pleco. Later on, we add two algae pellets, we read the instructions and thought we knew what we were doing. Turns out that the type of algae pellet is dangerous, and if you don’t take out the leftover pellet out of the water it will polute and kill everything within a few days. I had left to go to a different state, and left my father to take care of the fish while I was gone, and he made sure to feed them. Sadly, when I got back, everything was dead and covered in algae, except for the mystery snail. Devastated, I took the snail out and cleaned and replaced the filter, and water. Currently, my snail, Pebble is doing well but I can’t help but feel bad and so I went to go get another bettafish, to replace the one I had lost. I went to Petco after seeing that the selection at PetSmart didn’t really have any yellow betta fish, so I went to PetCo with my dad to get one there. Just as we were checking out, my dad laughs “yeah, we are restarting.” The employees become concered and ask what he means, and he explains the story (not very well, so I kinda understand why they decided to do what they did, but still) so we get declined, and told that we aren’t allowed to buy a male betta fish, because we had previously had one with “other fish,” mind you, those other fish were harmless to the betta, if my betta had killed any of the fish, I would not have added anymore fish to the tank. So we get declined, and my dad explains that our tank is completely safe and the only other creature is a snail, but we still get told that the employees don’t trust us. So we walked out empty-handed...

Came in to get a pet play yard that said was in stock, but there was no play yards but the store had a $119 crate on sale for $55. So Im happy with my savings 🤩

Happened to stop by while they were having an adoption weekend. That's never good... For my husband. We adopted this little sweetie! The employees are always friendly and the store is very clean, even with the pets coming in and out!

I came looking for crickets to feed tree frogs gifted to me and got much more. The cashier and floor personnel were very helpful and listened to my going on. I'll be a repeat customer. Been a long time since I've been there. Thanks for being there. Now that u have Katie Linderman there you are the best in Chattanooga. I'll be using your vet services as well.

They just cancelled my appointment bc my dog is old, really! And if they don't want to do a service like cleaning ears, they just blame the dog! Honestly if you can't handle a 24 pound dog you should get another job! STAY AWAY !Update... In response, if you valued customer service, you would do more than send this generic response. Honestly, not grooming my dog because he is old is pure discrimination. I sure hope my hairdresser doesn't drop me because I get old. I will never step a foot in Petco ever again! Nor will any of my family! I'm sharing this with everyone I can.

I love going to petco cuz let's be honest, who doesn't. This store is always cleaned and well organized, but I would really love to see more employees on the sales floor offering assistance and creating a better customer experience to all. Whenever I go I only ever see like 2 people, maybe be because they are understaffed, I don't know. Other than that I do love coming here bit don't go as often due to the lack of assistance whenever I'm there.

I was there on July 3rd around 5pm and was looking to start up a new tank for a betta fish. The employee there (I'm sorry, I do not know her name) was incredibly helpful! She helped me pick out everything I needed, gave awesome advice, and answered all my questions. I now have a fantastic tank and my new betta is doing great!

Acted like they didn’t want to take my dog to begin with. Very obvious they didn’t want to do a shed treatment for a lab as it would inconvenience on a Saturday. Claimed she was stressed out but never been turned away from any groomer for this dog. She came out happy as can be, keep in mind this is a lab who loves water. Would recommend sending your dog somewhere who cares, Brenda’s grooming does our dog regularly and always sends home “did great” report.

I love this Petco. They have almost everything I really need for my cats and actually have a good variety of litter, food, and treat brands. Between this place and the Pet Supplies Plus in Hixon, which has more raw food options, my cats are SET. I'd still love to see a larger variety of some foods, toys, and harnesses/collars but that's not super duper important to me. This Petco really offers a lot more already than most other pet stores do.

Do not go here if you have a snake with a specialized diet. The workers, which aren’t supposed to ask feeder or friend, will snoop and They will refuse to sell if you answer their riddle wrong. Furthermore this location has roaches inside their cricket barrels and they will get into your house if you buy from them. Too bad one star is the lowest I can give.

Really good shop for pet supplies. Bought 2x hamsters. Specifically male. We got a male and a female. Both have lived separately from the beginning. Unfortunately we got the female pregnant. Then we had a few more hamsters. When we wanted to give the young ones away, they could only be returned with their mother.
