Eagle Cove resort used to be a fantastic resort. After Safe Harbor took over , not so much. We have stayed here many times over the last 9 years, and this resort is on the edge of being a "Do not recommend." The cabins have not been updated since the first time we stayed here, the mattresses on the beds are horrible, and the cabin dock is in terrible shape. The deck on our cabin has loose boards and screws sticking out. Our cabin had several lights burnt out, and a fan that didnt work. The maintenence tech was very helpful, and wanted to fix everything but couldn't get parts for old equipment. Having said all that, the cleaning crew does a great job with what they have, and the cabin was clean. Safe Harbor hasn't spent any money to improve this property and it shows.Food & drinks: No restaurant on the premises and the the ship store has almost no necessities. Bring your groceries or plan on boating/ driving to get anything to eat.

"Safe Harbor" is neither "safe" nor a "harbor." I have stayed here and rented boats from here for many years, I'm pretty sure last week was the last. The Safe Harbor corporation has neglected this property to the point it is ridiculous. The safety issues include many missing and broken boards on and around all docks, including the main gas dock. It is to the point that small children should not walk on them alone....and no one should walk on them after dark. The harbor is barely one, at least a third of the dock for the cabins is sunken, and has been for awhile. The docks that are usable, have no padding and exposed nails. The $50/night covered slips are available, but most of the roof is blown off, and has been for awhile. The $659/night bigfoot cabin came cockroaches and mattresses that were worn out and would be rejected by a homeless community. The running toilets kept my wife from sleeping And the window blinds were unusable.....so Hello Neighbors. When I spend $659/night, I expect better and that corporate might take $10 of that and replace a deck board so that I don't stumble and fall.Bottom line, avoid Safe Harbor properties and go with Sulphur Creek, Willow Grove or another marina that is investing back into their customers needs!!!!Just got back from the lake this week, I stayed at Star Point. Ran past Eagle Cove hoping something improved, you see the photos that I just attached.

It’s been 20 years since I rented from Eagle Cove. This time, I rented a cabin and pontoon boat. I live my live with low expectations so what we received for the 2 story chalet was actually pretty decent for the money that they charge during the week.Overall, the cabin that we rented worked out just fine for us. There were visible items to note, carpets had some staining, door knobs were loose, upper bathroom floor near the shower seemed like if you stepped on it hard enough you would fall through, furniture is probably 20 years old, gutters growing greenery due to not being cleaned out, wasps nests, wood steps up to the cabin needs to either be replaced or sanded. I felt that as I was carrying my heavy cooler up the stairs, I may have broke thorough some of the steps causing me to break a leg and cooler contents going everywhere.Staff was friendly and had no issues with them. Reading the other reviews, it appears to me that the “corporate” ownership wants nothing to do with rehabilitating this property until someone gets hurt and they get sued which is a shame because the location is absolutely beautiful.

We have stayed in the cabins at Eagle Cove the past 5 years--most recently this past June. We stay in the Bigfoot Chalet cabins which are advertised as the most luxurious (and expensive) cabins they offer. Each year the cabin is in worse shape due to a lack of maintenance. The carpet in the master bedroom is disgusting. We had to lay towels over one spot for my wife to agree to stay in the room. Lower level bedroom carpet not much better. The hot tub has a leak and would drain enough water out overnight to make the tub not function. Lower level shower leaking. Front window blinds would not work. Dining room clock has not worked the past 3 years. Many more issues (loose door knobs, exposed outlets, etc). I left Mgt. a partial list of issues when I checked out. Based on past years experience I have no confidence that the issues will be corrected. Courtesy dock for cabin renters boats also continues to deteriorate each year. Sections are not safe. We love Eagle Cove but are to the point of looking at other options for our annual trip due to these issues. We hope that Mgt. will start addressing issues rather than continue to let the facility deteriorate.

Last time staying at eagle cove unfortunately. Been staying here for years and things seem to get progressively worse without any form of improvement. This is accompanied by a $400 a night price tag for a cabin that has more things wrong with it than right. The shower drains are always clogged. Told the front desk on our most recent visit and it was never fixed. Nothing like standing in 4 inches of dirty water after a 5 minute shower. The ceiling fans shake so bad it feels like a gamble leaving it on while sleeping, and the beds are so bad you’re better off bringing blow up mattresses if you want to get any sort of sleep. I’d advise bringing your own kitchen silverware and utensils as well because they are always filthy. All the steak knives during my last stay were oily and multiple pieces of silverware, spatulas, etc had visible dried up food on them. All the rubber ware looks like they’ve been used on the outside grill because they are all melted to hell. We ran the dishwasher three times and it didn’t even dissolve the dishwashing pod. It continued running while the door was open and we noticed the entire top sprayer wasn’t spinning or even spraying water at all, and the bottom wasn’t strong enough to even spray water more than a couple inches upward. Lastly, I can’t stress enough how terrible the docks closer to the cabins are. They are held in place by ropes tied to a guard rail and you often need to step up over a foot to get up onto the dock walkway. Older people would never be able to make it. There are loose boards without any screws, slips that have nearly sunk completely, many missing rope anchors, and zero padding to protect your boat. The front of each slip is sharp solid metal that will tear the front of your boat up if you aren’t very careful while docking. The location is so great, but paying over $400 a night for a half broken cabin has left us more and more disappointed year by year. Getting 3 stars instead of 2 simply for the location, nothing more.

We love Eagles Cove! We have been renting double deckers there for about 3 years! We went today and as always it was amazing! The staff are always friends and willing to make changes if they are needed. Today, the boat we rented had slide issues. Within 20 minutes we had moved boats and were off for the day!Thank you to the staff of eagle's cove!

We have been staying here every year the last 15 years. This place use to have the nicest cabins. However each year it’s been getting worse due to no upkeep. We stayed at the big Chalet cabin and the beds are ALL caving in, the mattresses are so overused and painful to sleep on. Same for the living room furniture; caving in and uncomfortable. The side door is broken, the internet goes in and out constantly throughout the day, they do not stock the bathrooms w/more than 1 roll of TP, they told us to put out our basket of dirty towels on the deck to be replenished but it has been days and no one picks it up, the flooring when you walk in the entrance way is busted, the deck boards going down the stairs are wobbly and very slick (most of us have fallen), the hot tub has a leak so we were told to just refill it ourselves with a hose each day. All of these issues need to be fixed immediately. We are finally after 15 years looking into other places to stay due to the cabins and docking getting worse and worse each year. Most of the docking slips now are broke or sinking under the water. It’s terrible to see this place getting worse every year. But since nothing has been getting fixed we have finally decided to not come back.

This is our second year staying here at the cabins. I'll start by saying there is a lot to like about this place and we plan on going back next year. The view and sunsets are really great. The layout and accessibility of the marina, dock, parking, playground, fire pits, other cabins, etc are great. The cabins are also cleaned well. This year we spent extra on a hot tub, which was a great upgrade because we had one rainout day and its beautiful to watch the sunsets in. We were also quite satisfied with the general location of the resort on the lake itself. If you want just a basic place with AC, a toilet, stove/grill, hot shower, etc after you come off the lake then this is it. If you want something that is more luxurious and not just the basics, then this isnt for you.Now the bad. As other reviewers have mentioned, there is a lot of maintenance that isnt being done that is keeping this place at just an average 3 rating. Various outlets not working, exposed wires, internet going out, leaky hot tubs, minimum plates/cups/utensils in each unit, missing/rotted boards on the boat dock and decks, metal fronts on the boat dock that dont have any kind of bumpers/covering, a section of the dock that is mostly sunken, stains all over the carpets, and the littlefoot cabins have the worst mattresses I have ever slept on in my life(our friends in other cabins agreed, so it wasn't just a one off). The marina only has 93 octane and charges a dollar more for it than some of the other marines on the lake. Also, do not use the boat ramp by the cabins as it is too steep and you will bottom out (only place this has ever happened to me). Use the one further down instead.I will say the staff here is friendly, and tries to accommodate you the best they can. This year when we arrived the first night our hot tub didn't work. The general manager answered when I called at 9:30pm and sent someone out that night to look. When they couldn't fix it he upgraded my cabin first thing the next day.

We stayed in a Littlefoot cabin for two nights. Everything was very clean and well maintained. My son got sick the one night and threw up in bed. The housekeeping staff was very nice and courteous about it. They brought us new bedding and sheets, and took the dirty ones away without any complaints.Everything in the cabin was in good working order and the property was in very good shape. I just wish that they would add some kind of a snack bar or restaurant at this location.

Very nice staff. Very clean cabins with a great view. The staff keeps the entire resort area very clean. Good for families with or without children. No internet/wireless service and limited cellular reception. As of December 2015, very limited boat slips available. Some small boats may fit into the existing covered slips but unfortunately a large bass boat wont fit.During the winter draw down of the water level, the boat ramp is very shallow and it is difficult to launch your boat.

Great place, third year in a row staying here. Cabins are great, service is awesome, the view is amazing.Since the rates went up so much this year from last year, really need to invest some of the money. We docked our boat at the courtesy dock last Saturday, when I stepped off the boat, I fell through a board on the dock. Messed up my leg in multiple places, did an incident report at the Marina, and on Monday when we left the boards were still laying there and nothing has been fixed or blocked off to keep someone else from doing the same thing. Very disappointed that no one even attempted to do something about this. I'm not looking for freebies but it would have been nice to see them do something to prevent this from happening to the next person.

Our boat was to be ready at 3. We were able to load it at 4:30! There were coffee grounds spilled in the cupboards. Dirty sinks and counters. We had some wrapped snacks that were eaten by mice! Lots of spiders in bedrooms and one thin snagged blankets in each bedroom! Good thing it was hot!! The boat was very old but it still could have been kept nicer. Ripped seats and loose railings etc. If I pay $2,000 for a weekend without gas charges included I would hope to find a fairly new or at least maintained boat!! That being said the water and area was exquisite!Boat 66The Burkett's

Update: I got a FULL refund.Original Review:Not worth the money.I spent 4 nights in the Bigfoot Chalet, which is advertised as "the most luxurious" of all their cabins. At $599 per night, it certainly should be. But their definition of "luxury" was clearly not the one found in the dictionary. There were multiple issues with the chalet, to include no wi-fi for my entire stay, broken dining room chairs, a toilet that was not properly bolted to the floor, a towel rack that fell off the wall when a wet towel was placed on it, a bedroom fan that was stuck on high speed, a shower control valve that was installed the opposite of what it should be (cold indicator was hot and vice versa), a bedroom mattress that was so uncomfortable that my guests had to place it directly on the floor for proper back support, and an HVAC unit with a clogged condensate drain that leaked onto and soaked the hallway and bedroom carpeting. The rental boats at the marina were not much better - missing anchors and mooring lines. inoperative horns, and waterlogged life vests. It's too bad since Dale Hollow Lake is a gorgeous location, but I'm never going back to Eagle Cove again.

We stayed here for a week in the summer of 2017. We had a great time and we couldn't wait to come back summer of 2018. But when I called to make reservations for a week in July the receptionist was very rude and not willing to help me at all. All she could do was try to transfer me to safe harbor rentals. She informed me that they can't guarantee certain cabin rentals anymore. My whole family was planning on coming so we wanted to rent 3 cabins side but side so we can be together. The receptionist very rudely told me that they can't do that. We wouldnt be guaranteed the 3 side by side cabins. The worst part was how rude she was. Thanks to her I will be taking my business elsewhere. We we're so excited to spend some time here this summer but it's not gonna happen now. Based off of our stay last year I would give 5 stars but after my encounter with your staff this morning I'm giving a 2.

Rented the Bigfoot houseboat for 3 days this week. We had a great time! The staff was helpful explaining how things worked on the boat, and drove it in and out of the marina for us. The boat was clean, if decorated like the late 80s. 😂 The grill could use a scrubbing, we used foil. The toilets were iffy, but they are RV toilets so theres not much helping that. Overall we were very satisfied with our experience and would do it again! We were surprised by the cost to fill the boat with gas at the end of our trip. It has 2 65 gallon tanks and gas was over 4.00 a gallon. We spent $319 on gas.

We have been coming to Eagle Cove for about 5 years now. First three years were in cabins/pontoons and last year/this year were in houseboats. We always have an amazing time thanks to the seamless stays we have here. I have stayed at other marinas but this is by far my favorite. Thank you for everything! We will see you next year!

Very beautiful views from our porch cabin. Nice porch swing to relax on. The interior of the cabin was comfortable with a living room, fireplace, kitchen and table. It had two bedrooms with closets. The bathroom was very narrow, awkward and the floor felt like it would give way in the near future. As expected for cabins their dated but clean. Lots of activities around and awesome views of the lake and mountains. Secluded but busy.

This was our second year renting from Eagle Cove Marina & it was a fabulous experience!Aspen was wonderful at explaining everything on the operation of the boat.We found our glass table on the upper deck was broken before we left the dock & a crew immediately came to do clean up & replace the table.Love that they have GPS on the boat as our friends w/ jetskis couldn’t find us so they just went to the marina & got our location! We will see you next year!!

The staff was wonderful. However the boats are very old, dirty, and poorly maintained. With the price you pay for a week we should be getting a boat that doesn't have spider webs in the bedrooms, cracks in the slides, general dirty interiors (including holes in the doors and walls), half-working stove and oven, and toilets that constantly stink. This was my 4th houseboat trip to Dale Hollow but 1st time using Eagle Cove.Boat 65 and 69.

Just returned from staying in a 2-bedroom cabin. Had an issue but Mark made it right! All the staff we met were super friendly and helpful. I totally recommend staying there and will most definitely return. Our cell service was just fine but not a fan of Dish Satellite BUT we weren't there to really use either of those! It was a get-away!!

The cabins had A/C but the cabins are not built right to hold the a/c due to roof. The first two nights it was 85 degrees. We had to call the front desk to have them fix the problem. They try to fix the problem to the best of their ability. The cabins weren't insulated properly to hold the a/c during the hottest part of the day. The internet didn't work the whole time we were there. Told them several time never was corrected. They never offer to give any kind of refund or discount for the inconvenience. Boats were extremely slow. They had them governor to the slow speed possible. The can opener and fraying pan was broken. Was not my favorite place to stay. Will not stay here again. The beds were so bad also. My back hurt every night. If it was not for the lake we would have left and went home. The lake was the best thing about the whole place.

After having a great experience last year we rented 5 boats from them this year for a 3 night stay. Unfortunately this year was awful. 3 of the 5 grills were broken. The boats smelled awful. One refrigerator broke, losing over $200 worth of food. 2 separate boats (on 2 separate days) carbon monoxide monitors went off and everyone had headaches. One boats air went out completely. Two boats wouldn’t restart. The list goes on, and on. After bringing this to the staff attention, they shrugged their shoulders and said hopefully next year is better & they’ll look at the boats!

We rented a houseboat and 3 small boats to fish. They lied and said they had 15hp for small boats and when we showed up they actually had 9hp (FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!). Had issues with these motors and they had to take one of our boats. Told us we are the only customers right now but didn’t have any other boats for us. The houseboat was nice but also had issues on day 2 with the generator that they had to come fix. They never offered to assist in any way (monetarily or with another boat, etc.) or try to accommodate us for such major inconveniences. There are a lot of other marinas on the lake. I doubt any others have this bad of equipment and straight up lie in advertising. Beautiful lake but will never use this marina again. Our business will always go elsewhere.

Great experience with housboat rental. Beautiful lake. Much less crowded than Cumberland and still all the fun. Our houseboat was spacious and comfortable. The water was cool and refreshing. Boat and generator started right up on the first try every time. The kids had a blast with the water slide. The hot tub on the top was definitely worth the added cost to use. The kids were even able to watch satellite tv on the boat befor the adults woke up.

Went down for a 3 day houseboat trip with friends. Dale Hollow was beautiful but we had nothing but problems from the houseboat we rented. Major problems each day. The toilet was broken, we had no water and the last night the generator went out so no power or air. When we took the boat back 2 hours earlier then we had to they seemed uninterested in the problems we had and proceeded to charge for gas. Would love to go back to Dale Hollow but will not be returning here. Very disappointed!

The cabin is in nice shape and clean. The location is great, right on the lake with boat rentals at the same location and the cabins come with full kitchens. It is also nice that they are one of the few places that are part friendly. The only real problem is that there is no WiFi and the needs could be more comfortable.

Just checked in and had different cabin than we reserved once we got here and everyone in office acted like they had no idea. Spoke with office day before I got here to verify reservation but little good that did. Update my review after Tuesday but not off to a good start so far. UPDATE,, other than the things I mentioned above it was a terrific time, place was clean and most of the staff was friendly and helpful.

Our group has been house boating for 41 consecutive years. We use to rent from Eagle Cove but left because the way we were treated. So when it went under new management we thought we would try it again. We had reserved a houseboat for August 15 thru 19th. This boat slept 12 but had a refrigerator for about 6 people. Many coolers had to be used to put everybody’s food. The coffee pot stopped working the second morning out. The big problem was the way we were treated. We arrived at 11:00am on the 15th. The boat was there and ready to go but we’re not allowed to board until 2:15pm. The person running the counter at the dock was pretty much disconnected with his customers. The only person that went our her way to be nice and was very friendly was Aspen. She is the one that should running the dock. I saw no reason why we couldn’t board the boat and leave the dock at 11am. We all voted and decided not to come back to Eagle Cove. We’re done because there are many other resorts that rent houseboats.
