This venue is INCREDIBLE for couples that want a unique experience in the beautiful Appalachian mountains. We got to stay here with our friends and family for 3 wonderful nights and will never forget it.Everything was top tier, but the real highlight of this venue is its staff. Everyone we worked with made it so easy on us to plan a wedding from afar, and they were so accommodating and kind while we were on site. They were also able to recommend amazing vendors for every aspect of the ceremony and reception. These people know their stuff and are quick to solve problems when they arise. All of them were a pleasure to work with!

Sugar Hollow is the wedding destination dreams are made of! The setting is stunning and serene, and the staff is unmatched. We could not have asked for a more perfect wedding experience. The quality of everything from the rooms, to the vendors, to the planning and execution was beyond anything we could have hoped for. The coordinator Nicole French is amazing to work with! Her communication was excellent and she handled everything so beautifully that there was no stress leading up to or during the day of the event. I cannot recommend Sugar Hollow enough, we truly had the wedding of our dreams and created memories that will last a lifetime.

Sugar Hollow Retreat is the perfect place to get married! A secluded property with beautiful views of the Smoky Mountains. Lodging on site for over 65 people made it great weekend getaway for all of our guests. The coordinator Nicole was incredibly helpful and made everything go smoothly the entire weekend. Wautaga Lake is very close and recommend renting boats and exploring the lake. There is limited cellular signal which made us happy because it made all of our guests hang out instead of being on their phones. Highly recommend getting married here!! (There are great wedding vendors nearby Sugar Hollow that we loved working with)

Sugar Hollow Retreat is a brides dream venue! I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Over Mountain Hall & it was amazing in every way! The staff are exceptional and the venue is absolutely breathtaking. Nicole, Kaleigh, and Marty went above and beyond to help make the day as perfect as possible. Highly recommend!!!

I've had the pleasure of planning and coordinating several weddings at Sugar Hollow Retreat in the past couple of years. First, the venue is stunning! Overmountain Hall is gorgeous and the ceremony site (amphitheater) has simply put, some of the most spectacular mountain views in our region.Having coordinated weddings from January (with snow on the caps of the mountains) to November with the leaves in full glory, there is literally no "bad" time of year to choose this venue for your event.Ample space for onsite accommodations, close to many outdoor excursions and activities, or just a spacious option for your group to come together and relax.The staff from sales to coordination and event onsite property management is absolutely amazing to work with! I cannot recommend this venue enough!

Having our wedding at Sugar Hollow Retreat was such a wonderful experience! The property itself is gorgeous, the houses and the lodge were charming as well as comfortable – basically everyone who was there with us (and we’re included in this sentiment) wanted to stay much longer than the three-day weekend! And, despite a big winter storm passing through the weekend before our wedding, all the roads on the property were in perfect condition to drive on by the time everyone arrived. They’re on top of their stuff, that’s for sure!Overmountain Hall was beautiful – the scenery around the hall is breathtaking and the interior of the hall is truly a perfect location for a reception. The bridal suite on the second floor was ideal for everyone getting ready and gives a bird’s eye view of the ceremony site. Honestly, pictures don’t do this place justice! You’ll see what we mean when you tour the location in person.The wedding coordinators as well as the property manager were all so helpful in the planning process of our wedding and were always available to answer questions. Everything was executed flawlessly and we couldn’t have been happier with how the ceremony and reception turned out! In fact, everything was so fun and the property and event were run so well, everyone is already talking about a reunion up there in a year or two!

I had an amazing experience during a corporate retreat at Sugar Hollow. Our team stayed in the lodge and the accommodations were clean, quaint, and comfortable. The staff was welcoming and made sure we were happy with our stay. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and from the lookout deck you can catch the most amazing sunrises. There are plenty of places to relax, drink a glass of wine, read a book and take in nature!

Having our wedding at Sugar Hollow was truly a magical experience! We really wanted a wedding weekend where we had more than just one day to celebrate with our family and friends, and Sugar Hollow offered just that! Having on site accommodations was such a convince and really added to our whole experience. We had all of our bridal party stay in the lodge with us, and our family’s stayed in the other on-site cabins. Everyone loved their cabins and said how comfortable their beds were. The lodge, the largest cabin, was big enough for us to host a brunch on Friday morning, with all the equipment we needed to serve a large crowd. It served as a gathering place for everyone for the whole weekend and it was perfect. Everyone had a private room, but could also congregate in the bar or by the fireplace.Sugar hollow has several options for your ceremony location, so we used one of their locations, the overlook deck as our first look location. We wanted all of our friends and family to experience all the beauty this venue had to offer so we planned a group hike on Friday to the overlook deck, it was the perfect spot for photos with everyone and we loved that everyone got to see the spot where we would do our private first look. There are tons of trails on the property but we took a gravel road up to the overlook so it was easily accessible for people of all ages. A few of our guests also used some of the trails during down time.On of the other locations on the property is the Overmountain Hall, which was too beautiful to use just once, so we had our rehearsal dinner there, where we had a fire and played bags. The day of the wedding us girls got ready in their beautiful bridal suite, equipped with Hollywood mirrors and cute decor which was perfect for getting ready pictures.Our ceremony took place right outside of Overmountain Hall and it was just breathtaking with the sunset in the mountains behind us. We loved their covered patio and side patios with cocktail tables right outside of overmountain to use for our cocktail hour.The reception space at Overmountian Hall was everything we wanted and more! Just stunning! Their catering kitchen and bar came in handy, and the space was perfect for our group. One of my favored things about this space is their fireplace, and their beautiful tables and chairs!To top off the beauty of Sugar Hollow their staff is amazing! Marty, the owner is the property checked in with us when we arrived to make sure everything was okay, and she was so sweet! She went above and beyond to help us during our wedding weekend and even helped us intercept a very important package to prevent a groomsman attire mishap. Kaleigh, the main coordinator at Sugar Hollow is one of the reasons that we booked Sugar Hollow. She was so amazing helping with vendor suggestions, and making my vision come to life. Even their maintenance man was so nice from the second we came for our tour, to helping set up the day of.Our friends and family just raved about how much they loved the venue, and we loved that we got to share such an amazing experience with them! With all that this venue has to offer, there is no beating it!

Visited Sugar Hollow in late July for a Leadership Training and couldn't have been more impressed with this place!!! Weather was amazing and accommodations/staff were top notch! Along with being a great escape from the city, this was a perfect place to experience nature in the smokey mountains! Can't wait to bring the family, highly recommended!!!Also, the wine from nearby Watauga Lake Winery was amazing!

We stayed at the Lodge which housed quite a bit of people but still felt quaint. The whole cabin was incredibly clean and no matter how many people were showering, I always had hot water. The rooms were decorated very cutely and the staff was amazing. You get all of the greatness of camping but with a hot shower and a real bed! Very nice place and we will definitely be heading back soon. OH, and the view wasn't too bad either! ;)

We visited Sugar Hollow Retreat for a group retreat and had the opportunity to see nearly all of the accommodations. The rooms were clean, adorably decorated, and very spacious.The views from the Lodge were incredible. We were able to visit in the spring and got to see a full day of everything covered in snow, then the next two days were beautiful sunny and warm. I can't wait to go back in December!

Such a fantastic and private place on an extensive property with hundreds of acres of beautiful scenery ready to be explored. Miles of scenic hiking trails were perfect for early morning and afternoon walks. A particular favorite of mine was a short walk up one of the old logging paths which lead to an amazing lookout above the trees overlooking nearby mountains and hollows. A very special thanks to Marty and the staff were wonderful and went over the top ensured everything we needed was pristine for the entirety of our stay. We loved our time at the Sugar Hollow Retreat and are already planning a return trip to share this place with our extended family.

This place is such a great venue for so many reasons. They have 3 places you can get married, including 2 stunningly beautiful outdoors spots, and a backup plan indoors if it rains, and most venues can't boast that. Also, it's so convenient to have people able to stay on-site! You're basically getting a venue and a hotel in the same price. They allow you to have your own vendors, though they have a list of preferred partners as well. Some cabins need a little updating, but it's still way better for most than having to drive down the mountain after the ceremony after dark. Beautiful views, great staff, great areas for people to hang out...overall incredible place where you feel like you're treated as family!

Although my fiancé and I did not choose to go with Sugar Hallow Retreat, I can believe anyone that does will have a very beautiful and well organized wedding venue. It’s one of the most beautiful spots we’ve seen up in the Tennessee mountains. They were extremely responsive with all details and questions I had. The tour was also very informative and professional. We recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding retreat weekend with your families.

This place is magical!! I can't thank the staff and hosts enough for such a wonderful leadership retreat I did with my company in August. The cabin is really cool with nice accommodations. It's very clean and comfortable. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the content of the material we learned was more than I could have asked for.

Sugar Hollow is the perfect mountain get-away spot for large group events. Marty and the remainder of the staff do a phenomenal job keeping each guest comfortable. We were able to take advantage of several miles of hiking trails, breathtaking views for the observation deck, comfortable lodging, large group dining spaces, conference centers, and most importantly a tuck away bar area to unwind at the end of the day.

Wow just wow this place is unbelievable. If you’re thinking of doing a wedding here, they are perfectly suited for such an event. Their new banquet hall is absolutely gorgeous, and the overlooks for a wedding are the best around. Don’t hesitate to pull the trigger on reserving this place for your wedding! I’m certain it would be a great place for corporate retreats as well. I’m thinking they can seat 400 if it wasn’t for distancing!

My wife(!) and I just got married here this past Saturday and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable destination mountain wedding. Marty and Jim are the innkeepers and are incredibly helpful and very sweet. There are beds on the property for 60 guests, but room for way more with couches and air mattresses. The overlook is absolutely gorgeous and the entire property is very well kept. Lodging is well decorated, clean and cozy. We got married in the field behind the lodge and Jim mowed a path down the hill for us the week before. There is also an amphitheater with a mountain view in the background for smaller weddings. We love this place (we might be a little biased, but we promise it's awesome) and hope to come back for an anniversary soon!Be aware there is no cell phone service but Marty and Jim let you use the lodge phone and give the number to guests in case they need to reach anyone on the property.The wifi is very poor, just enough to send texts and check email, but to us that made the place even better because our guests put away their phones for the weekend and enjoyed each other's company.
