They treat their employees like garbage. Hire 1 manager for a department then only part timers below them. So...what that means is this, They take the salary employees and work them 70-80 hours a week, which when all the math is done, was coming out to about $12 an hour for salary employees!!! And the part timers only getting 4 to 5 hours a couple days a week. See the benefits for the company? And you don't see too many women getting promotions. Not a company I'm proud to have in my home town.

I got food poisoning from a prepared salad on January 3rd, 2024 and to this day February 4th, 2024, I still have not been contacted by corporate in Abingdon, VA. I went to the store on Virginia Ave. where I purchased the salad and the Managers response was "are you sure it wasn't that stomach bug going around". I told him about the 5 hour long dry heaving along with 6 hours of uncontrolled diarrhea and he acted like it was going to kill him to refund me the 7 bucks and change. It took me 3 days to be able to eat without "issues" and 1 week to get my strength back. You have to watch your receipts because of their scamming sale practices and they act like we are still in a pandemic with their price gouging. Cereal at 7 bucks, REALLY. 😤

The selection at this store is not as good as the other stores here in town. They always seem to be out of whatever it is that i'm looking for. It's quite possibly an issue with the management. I would just go ahead and make the trip to the store on Euclid Ave and save yourself from disappointment and aggravation. That's what I started to do.

Dirtiest grocery store I have ever been in. The entrance is plain nasty ! Maybe this is how Food City does it. New to area accustomed to Ingles and Publix standards. Mgmt needs to take blinders off and take a close look. I bought bakery product only to find it stale when opened. First and last journey into that nastiness.

Do NOT buy cole slaw from this location ! You'll get Mostly all Mayonnaise. Whomever is making the coleslaw is truly an amateur and needs to be re-trained. Waste of Money ! Go to a different location for Cole slaw !!!!

I was absolutely amazed the level of service was top notch the platters they made for our team event I couldn't have asked for anything better! The fruit was fresh, the chicken tenders were huge and hot! Plus everything was done exactly the time they said it would be. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT is all I have to say!

I don't like eating hot food that's been in plastic because it's very cancerous that's why I quit eating the hot chicken there that's in the plastic bags sitting in the heat under those heat lamps serious cancer

Very clean. The employees were very nice. I love the deli. The 2 for $10 is perfect. I like when the young man, I don't remember his name, that was there today (7/17/23). He is not skimpy on the servings. It's just enough to fill us up. We are not still hungry when we are done eating. I believe that young man needs to be a manager or something. He is the reason we keep coming back.

I have been shopping at this location for 6 years and never had a problem with anything. About 3 weeks ago I left a bag behind. I realized it as soon as I was unpacking my groceries so I called the store immediately. I told them which register I was at and told them I would be right back to get it. When I arrived to the store with my receipt, a young woman walked by as I was telling the self check out attendant what happened. The young woman said "Yeah, I just put that stuff back". I was shocked that they could not just hold the stuff for 15 minutes for me to get back to get it. Then 12 days later I was trying to get the sale that included a $10 gas voucher. I was unsure if the items I had were all part of the promotion so I asked the young woman at the customer service desk. She walked down one isle with me but not the other isles for the other products. She told me I would know when I got to the register whether I got my voucher or not. Needless to say, I bought all those products but did not get a voucher. I then went up to the customer service desk and after 10 minutes of them trying to figure out what happened, I said forget it. $10 is not worth all my time and trouble. I cannot believe after all these years that I have been treated this way. I was just going to change locations for my future shopping, but decided to find another retailer to shop. So long Food City, I will take my money elsewhere!

To me, this is the friendliest store of the Food City stores in Bristol. I live 5 minutes from the one on the Parkway, so I usually go there. The road work has made this one hard to get in and out of, but that's the city's fault, not Food City. The employees here are nice.

I have always had a good experience at this store and for the past 10 years my review has been a positive one with all 5 stars but today I went into the store to purchase 2 cups of ice from the deli as I do every single morning. Karen(this is her real name) who was there working was working with another customer and another lady came and helped another customer then asked what I needed. I told her just 2 cups of ice please. She handed me my cups and told me to go put ice in then and that Karen would ring me up when I was done. The gentleman in front of was paying when I was done and the 4 men who had came in after me were waiting to be served. I waited and told Karen I needed to pay for my 2 cups of ice. I was shocked that her response was well you need to get in line. I then responded I've been waiting in line for over 15 minutes how do you think I got the 2 cups. She made this face and looked at me as if I was lying!! I will not be back to this store. I will go to thesonic to get the ice because this was uncalled for. Her job is to be respectful to customers and ai was being very polite as I always am so to be treated like this I am blown away. Thanks Karen for ruining my expeierence this morning it was a wonderful way to start my day.

Clean, spacious aisles. Good selection of products and good availability. Fewer than typical empty shelves and good value with many useful in store sales and markdowns.Good City is a string supporter if community needs and resources with a good history of giving back. My ONLY choice for EVERY grocery need! No reason to shop anywhere else!

I was waiting in line for at least 30 min. There were only 2 lanes open with people back out into the aisle. I'm assuming it was a front end cashier came to act like she was going to help she grabbed a person with the least amount of stuff in the their cart. The lane I was in was having difficulties and was completely stopped for I know at least 10 minutes I changed to her lane. I had a weeks worth of groceries. At least 250$ worth of groceries in my cart. She looked at me and hatefully said I'm closed and I'm not taking any more . I lost it at that point and throwed my hands up and said you can keep it and walked out ! I won't be back even though the store is 1 minute from my house. I will travel 30 minutes away to my nearest food lion from now on! I hear I will save a lot more on my grocery bill there too. Plus I'm tired of throwing bad food away. Food Lion Just gained a new Customer!

People in the store are super nice!! However, when getting food from the grill you will need some salt and pepper. I think it is light/no season for dietary purposes for others.

This is a southern grocery store for sure. They have the brands you love at an affordable price. You can earn discounted fuel prices by using a Food City value card, and also received discounted prices on the items you purchased. The store is always fully stocked and clean. They also have excellent hours! Open early to late each day. I know I'm a biased local, but I'm also being honest. 💯

Better prices then most stores, very clean store, super friendly staff. Restrooms are spotless and smell very sanitized. Theres always staff close by to help if needed. One employee gave me 73 cents to finish paying for ramen noodles because my bank card was acting up when I swiped it. Overall I give Food City on Virginia Ave. In Bristol Tennessee a 15 out of 10. Its the perfect place to shop!!!

A great grocery store with unbeatable prices, they have an amazing fresh vegetable selection and great freshly cut meats as well as many frozen and can/box items others may not have. Items for home and garden are near the entrance door and what a good selection of items they have available so check them out, youll be glad you did !
