It's a fine place to get a few necessities. Groceries, household items, etc.. (Mgr.) Greg is always cool and willing to help with any questions or concerns..

We love this place bc it keeps just a touch of fresh produce on hand, unlike most others. It's also perfectly located on hubby's way home to pick up any last minute needs. We frequent this area often!! I only wish I could give them more stars!

The store has improved recently. For a while I quit going because the lines were always so long and it just wasn't worth stopping. Now they have cleaned it up and apparently hired more people. The last 2 times I've been in there this month it's been a much better experience.

The only place I'm getting my tires from. I have to get new tires sometimes after 6 months. Sometimes before that. They are very polite. They get me in and out. And there prices beat almost every other place I priced. I also trust there work, which is hard to do anymore.

The cashier was extremely kind. He is the first one ever at that store that would beg your items as they should be he put food with food and hygiene with hygiene he double-bag heavier ones. Just a pleasant guy to take care of a customer

I love visiting and shopping at Dollar General. Most products you run out of are carried inside this store. Makes shopping a bit easier for small items. Staff is extremely courtiers and helpful. Not all the sale items could be found on digital website. However, the manager honored them himself.

Usually only a few workers can get backed up bad very quickly when checking out. Not workers fault usually. There is one lady, who hasn't been in there last two times I went, but she is always on phone or outside smoking and not helping the little old lady or the other worker to ring up when the line is getting long like she is supposed to do. I know she was supposed to be helping because the old woman looked very upset at her for ignoring customers and not helping. Then I actually overheard a conversation with old lady and manager that was coming in for the next shift, and I think about how she wasn't doing her job, had been outside all day, something of that sort of conversation. So they may have fired her, since she wasn't there two times in a row, but she didn't seem to care about her job or anything. Didn't happen just once either , some people have bad days I know, this happened every single time I went to the store. It's like one of two grocery stores in my town so I go there a lot. That's the only bad thing I have to say tho about the store. Other than that it's great. Hopefully they let her go tho.

This store is always understaffed and long lines at checkout. Sometimes as much as 15 minutes to checkout. The new expanded layout is nicer, things are always out of stock. Some of the employees are nice, but there are not enough of them to get the job done.

The worse experience ever in cookeville. I can not believe this took place in Cookeville/Baxter area. What happened to the sweet polite happy people in the south? I went in to exchange out a propane tank. I went to the reg. with the guy at the register. I DID NOT go to a self serve. Standing there near him was a lady that I interrupted a conversation apparently, but she did not look like she should be an employee there.. I told the guy I needed to exchange my propane tank out. He looked at me and says "Uhh well you have to do that at a check out register with someone ringing you up, not at the self Checking" I stood there in a shocked look I know it. I told him "yes, ok I need to exchange out my propane tank, its in the trunk of my car" He then tells the lady i thought was not an employee to ring me up. Within 3 seconds she tells me its $21.??" As she did that I was watching the screen to put in my phone number for the digital coupon... Since she didnt even give me the chance I said "There is a digital coupon for $3 off". The guy says to me "Oh no, propane never has coupons" I said "In your ad this week it is on sale with the digital coupon", He looks at the lady that rang me up and said "Did you see a coupon pop up for that when you rang it up?" she said "No", He then looks over to another lady (mgr??) and says "Propane never goes on sale does it? is there a coupon?" she then yells over "No it dont" as she is coming to the register. I then tell her "In your ad its listed for $20 , $3 coupon makes it $17." She looks me in the eye and says "It dont matter if its in an ad or not, what ever comes up under your number is what it is" I told her "I never got the chance to even put in my number" As she is putting her key into the register she said "Yes we are going back to that" Needless to say- they rang me up, i put in my number and GOLLY GEE! A COUPON! The mgr goes 'Oh there it is" and walks away... as i was walking out of the store and coming back up to the store with the empty tank I could hear them going on and on complaining about this.. Mind you customers were in the store! They DO NOT need to be working with the public!

The people who work here are great. No one has ever been anything but helpful, friendly, and kind at this location. But, the reason I'm giving three stars is that they are obviously understaffed and have been for yearsl. This is a very high-traffic location, being one of the only places in the area to get groceries, medicine, and toiletries. There is almost always a long line at the register. Some of the employees seem very stressed out and tired, but they remain pleasant to the customers. If corporate knew what was good for them, they would staff this store better and expand it or build a larger one. They're missing a lot of potential business. There are times that I've just walked out because I didn't have the time for the line that would obviously be there when it was time to check out.

This store has improved some since the remold. Product are stocked on the shelf so you can find what you are shopping for a lesser. The check out is inconvenient for customers most the time only one reg. Open and when they open the other after the line backs up it's the managers and they have to take care of problem at the open register. Most of the time it's due to the credits card machine not reading a card and now day people don't carry cash. This store is the only one out of the 11 store near me that I have a problem with it not reading my card and just happens to be to one closes to my home

Where's the stock? It's not on the shelves. This past weekend they weren't even accepting CASH! What??? The lines are always long and the cashier's always bag chemical items with my food. It used to be a high volume, well ran store. I can't imagine how it fell so low.

This store is covenience to our home and I find myself going there often. The people who work there are generally very nice but the store itself seems to always be understocked and the aisles cluttered. I feel it may be due to lack of help.

I just walked into my local dollar general. There are no signs up that states that only "service dogs" were allowed in the store. I walk in holding my 8 pound min-pin the entire 10 seconds that i was in the store. A cashier actually came up to me and told me that my dog was not allowed in the store. She told me that there was a sign on the front door, yet refused to show me exactly where it was. Probably because there was clearly NO sign posted on the front door! In fact, there were 4 signs on their front door stating that face masks were required to enter the store. There were a total of 8 customers in the dollar general at the time and 6 of them were not wearing a mask that was clearly required to enter the store! I thought dollar general was better than this!

Wasn't even looking for one & there it was. Got everything I needed & then some. However the woman who waited on me seemed more interested in her phone, didn't acknowledge me rang me up then put my receipt on top of the bagging area. She seemed like she was having a hard time. There was a very long line & she seemed by herself. I sure hope this isn't the stores policy in such a busy store. I also hope & pray all is well with her as she seemed distraught about the phone.

It's close to home. I love the convenience of being able to shop for everyday needs throughout the week without the hassle of going to the crowded big name grocery store\supermarkets. Plus I am always saving $$ with the DG app its very easy to use and always has a wide variety of coupons.

Very nice, and courteous employees there. Don't care a whole lot for the price is definitely not the place want to go do your monthly, grocery shopping. Unless you want 4 bags of miscellaneous groceries for $200

This store always surprises me. Each one is different in what they focus on. Some are more about clothes, others are more about home decorations.

It's a little bit higher on a whole lot of things compared to all the cookeville locations. The cashiers could all use a course of charm school. To learn how the customer is the reason they have a job and they need to learn how to go above and beyond the customer's expectations. They could do just that with as little as a sincere how are you,or even a smile goes a long way...trust me

The employees are always super nice but in the evenings there never seems to be enough help with the business they do at night. The shelves are bare sometimes and the stock is on carts in the isle but no help putting the truck up. There is always a lot of clutter in the isles and can't get two carts or one sometimes down each isle. Dont like shopping st this store due to th e fact that u can never get in and out fast cause the line or lines are too backed up or the items you are looking for a not on the shelf but I bet they are on the carts that are scattered across the store. #toocluttered #messystore

This store was up in Tennessee and it was a smallish town and this store had everything you could want for really reasonable prices! The people were so friendly also! Next time I am there I will make sure I go again!

A lot of stuff in the aisles kind of makes it hard to get around it's convenient I mean it's on some things you're a little expensive but I mean myself you know I'm on a limited income so I mean a dollar great on some things but like I said kind of expensive on others but thank you for being there all over overall every store I've ever been in is good just sometimes the people that work at them are real slow

It's convenient, but there is always a line of people and only 1 register open. With this many customers there should be better service. Plus, there are always holes on the shelves where product is never ordered.

Employees were great, however, they were having to use garbage bags to bag purchases. You could tell they were embarrassed. The manager is who ought to be ashamed. Also, there were lots of items stacked in the way and not on the shelves.

AWFUL!!! someone really needs to come in & take over;;* Your Dollar General Store in Baxter, Tn! The shelves are never stocked, there are ALWAYS stock sitting in the isles in those large metal transporters; what stock that is on the shelves are in such disarray that you don't want to search through it to see if maybe the product you are looking for is there or not. We are a really small town & were so excited to see the store get a "face lift" and we all were hoping all of that behavior would change but it has not. So. We ask for our store to stay stocked with what is supposed to be on any of it's particular shelves, please get those awful looking metal product transporters out of the isles so we may actually be able to get around in the store and hopefully find what is supposed to be on the shelves to purchase! I think I am speaking for a lot of people here (at least this Is my opinion and that of your customers I hear "bitiching" about each and every time I'm in the store). Please do something there, we are begging. If this same behavior doesn't change, I will no longer bother to stop there and "try" to shop when I can go somewhere else and get my shopping done in a much quicker manner. Thank you in advance if someone actually reads this and a really big thank you if someone actually does something about it.M. S. Lewis 🤔🙄🤔

If anyone knows what's good for them they will not stop at this Baxter Dollar Store. There is never enough people to help you always 12 to 13 people in the checkout line. If you would take out the break room for the employees your experience would be a lot better. The biggest joke I ever seen is Baxter Tennessee Dollar Store. 0 Stars.

Baxter dollar general has too much stuff in the isles on carts that need put away. You can nearly get through the isles. Long lines at check out empty shelves. You have to decide is it really worth standing in this line to get what you came for. I choose to drive to another store. It's rediculas!
