They have really great items.They are very,very expensive.If they would drop their prices about 20% I would do all my shopping here. I did read thier reply but they are seldom busy and I'm not taking just kinda expensive I'm talking really expensive. I don't know how they stay open. Very nice store and very clean and attractive.

This outfitter seems managed and operated by women! Generally outfitters are male centered with a small section of limited gear for females. This store has a large, lovely and stylish selection of high performance clothing, gear, accessories, and equipment for both men AND women. They carry unusual, useful and cool items. Their shoe selection is outstanding. Shopping at SMO is truly a pleasure! The store is dog friendly, and our border collie absolutely LOVES her frisbee! Check out their awesome inventory if you're able!

Incredible shop, they have all you need for outdoor adventures...I mean, they even had a flannel shirt for your canned drink. They have done a great job with the layout and the staff is very helpful. Definitely worth stopping in and picking up a shirt or two...or more.

Nice store with a good inventory of a wide variety of items from clothes to shoes and lots gear as well. The store is packed full of goodies. The staff is friendly and helpful. Great place to stop by before hitting the trails.

Made a stop here when we were in town visiting family. We love the outdoors and hiking so we were happy to check out what they had. I have to say this place was extremely nice and organized. The selection was wonderful top quality items in the pricing was fair. The women that were working were amazing and went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect in our trip there. We bought some merchandise that they made to represent when we go home. Will make it a point to stop by here every time we're in town to see what new stock they have thanks a lot

You can't find another local store like SMO! This is a one-of-a-kind outdoor store that has awesome people, great gear, and a cool location. The employees were extremely nice and helpful, and they gave me and my buddy free stickers for our first visit! This is definitely my new outdoor store, without a doubt.

My wife and I went there to buy hiking boots after reading prior reviews of both the business and it's owners and we were not disappointed. Some reviews objected about the prices so we really weren't sticker shocked at what we found and ultimately purchased. The young girl who waited on us was super friendly and very helpful. As we checked out we chatted with the owner who also was very friendly. A great store with really nice people , something that the big box stores are missing. We'll be back.

Great local place to pick up outdoor gear. They don’t have a ton of selection, but they have all the essentials, and the prices are like they are in any outdoor store. I try to prioritize buying my gear locally, and this is a good place to do it if you can find what you need.

I went here because they were a sponsor of a race I was participating in. It is a great store with a wide selection of quality apparel and equipment without the big city prices. It is evident they support their local community and events. I found a couple of gifts and will order others online. Nice people on their staff.

If you're into hiking and outdoors in general, this is a great place to check out. New store is spacious, well layed out, easy to find on Hwy 30, plenty of parking. Good assortment of clothing, maps, and other hiking gear. Not as big as an REI by any measure--but definitely could be it's smaller sibling. Picky's Recommendation: stop in and look around. Definitely worth it if you're into the outdoors.

Such a great store! I grew up in Etowah, but recently moved out to Colorado. I always make sure to stop by whenever I come home to visit my family. It's amazing to have them in the town. They have adorable clothes and plenty of top of the line gear, which is great if you're interested in exploring some of the amazing natural areas nearby. They contribute so much to the community and it's always nice to go in and see a friendly face. I definitely recommend stopping by and checking them out.

The mark up on most of their items is triple wholesale prices. You can easily find most of the apparel they sell on Amazon for half the cost.

Great place to get ur gear for whatever outdoors thing u want to do! Great people too. Midway Milkshake is also in the parking area. Great milkshakes & food. Midlife is in Etowah on Tuesday now, @ the depot!

Nice spot to buy your gear and help the locals vs the big box chains. Bigger inside than it looks from outside. Lots of the brand names as well as Star Mountain Outfitter apparel. Prices are average for the quality stuff. Store was clean, staff were extremely nice, and it didnt seem to be overstocked. I bought a hat and some stickers for the car to help advertise for them.

My visit goal was to try on trail runners and get a sticker. Miss Amy and Miss Jessi helped make that happen. Small cozy shop with tons to look at! Got some shoes on sale. Plus a neat sticker. Most definitely wanna go back!

They have a wide variety of outdoor products for your outdoor adventure needs. Friendly, helpful employees and owner. As a bonus, they often have organized group hikes in the local area as well as some that are greater distances. Active in the community to promote being outside and exploring the wonderful natural habitat that we live in.

Nice little store for outdoor gear! It's certainly focused on clothing, but it's all easier to digest than lugging through a big box store. The staff are wonderful too! I'm graduate student doing field research in the area and this shop is right along my route, so we'll pop in occasionally and be able to quickly find something I actually need.Today for instance- the AC went out in our vehicle, and this is the first place I thought of to get a break from the heat. And there just happened to be a sale! Found a great field shirt for <$20 in under 10 min, and chatted with the staff while we "chilled" 👍

This tiny shop is packed with good clothing for men and women. I bought several items, including hats, long-sleeved shirts, t-shirts, and sweatshirts. All are very soft and fit perfectly on my fat boy frame.

I love SMO!!! This store is locally owned and operated. Outdoor gear is not cheap. If you want to spend less money, go buy a crappy backpack from Walmart. I'm more than happy to spend a little more money for quality products, especially to support a locally owned business that gives back to the community.
