I’m very impressed with the dollar general in altamont. It’s probably the neatest one I’ve been in in a long time. Also the clerk was super nice. Shelves seemed to be full considering it’s a Saturday night. Good job guys

If they ever put all the inventory away, I'll give them a 5. Staff is nice and selection is good... if it put in its designated location. Not boxed up on rolling carts.

I was staying nearby at an air bnb and ran in here to get a few things. It's not exactly the cleanest DG I've been in. Trash on the floor, clutter, and shelves were a mess. They did have everything that I went in there for, so that was a plus. The line at the checkout was long, so I decided to use the self check out. I had to remove a pile of clutter and trash before I could start scanning my items.

The place is usually understaffed and there is usually boxes of products in floor in the isles so it’s hard to maneuver around sometimes. Also prices are higher than most dollar general stores near it but since this is a dollar general market I am guessing that is why the prices are higher on the same product that is in the dollar general store nearby. Also they are frequently out of stock on a lot of the groceries and other products as it is hardly ever on the shelf in the store. Also the workers are overwhelmed and in a bad mood most of the time

Love that they now carry fresh fruits, vegetables and meat. They are always friendly, but they are short staffed and the they are overworked. Store can be a bit crowded, but if I don't see something I want, they never hesitate to go look to see if it just hasn't been put up yet.

The store is short handed so after the delivery trucks drop the loads it can be a little crowded by stocking needing to done.The staff are very nice and helpful to the customers. They will sometimes take orders from ppl whose dog only eats certain food. You may pay a little extra but it's worth it.

Thankful for the fresh fruits, veggies and meats, just don't need any side to go with them. The shelves are never adequately stocked with essential items people need.Why not stock after hours so the store is ready to supply customers needs the next business day.We visit the Altamont store at least 4 days a week and are always disappointed. We then have to travel to DG in Viola or Piggly Wiggly in Gruetli.

This store is always so nasty, dirty, disorganized and understaffed. It's an incredibly busy store yet they can't keep it staffed or maintained (I'm sure it's because of the lousy pay... $7.25 per hr! Pathetic! Your staff deserves better!) What is wrong with this place? It's been worth the drive to go to the stores in surrounding areas. DG, pay your staff better. You'll get more experienced, better equipped staff if you pay people what they are worth. Clearly you don't think much of your staff because it shows in your store's quality and appearance. Sad.

One of the worst dollar generals I ever been to. And the store is underemployed, filthy,unmanaged,and understocked!!! Most of the time food in refrigerator is out of stock or out of date,or just on a cart sitting in the isle.. definitely needs new management, and already needs makeover. Recommend Viola,or, hillsborough store.!! Just saying.. !! Big difference!!

This is one of the most pleasant places to stop and grab your odds and ends. You will be greeted with a warm hometown welcome from any of the employees at this establishment. If you come through Lynchburg be sure to stop in here even if it's just for a drink or some chips. You will be sure to leave in better shape than when you came.

Great store if only they would stock the shelves and not leave it all out in the way you can barely mkve the cart aroumd the store due to all stock on the floor and not put away nice staff very friendly but I mean they had christmas decor on the floor in boxes after christmas that had never been opened and they was already clearanced chirtmas items same thimg with Valentine's right now they got the boxes on the shelves but not opened and stocked just sitting there can't sell things that away anyway I will still shop there but wish they had more time management

Found everything I wanted to get. Found a earring card with several pairs on it for $3! I can usually find what I'm looking for in this store. No activia so my mother had to have regular yogurt for her meal. It was under $1. Can't beat that.

Every stop store shows decline in stock but most importantly service. Shouldn't take 20 minutes (literally) to grab a drink and snack. With 15 minutes if that waiting in the only line open and watching one employee stand behind a register but won't open in and the manager wandering around seemingly aimless. Worth the drive to a different destination. I adding this on 6-6: worst experience ever. Never going back. OMG staff all around, but 10 people in checkout with 1 register open and new not properly trained cashier who had to shut down and go find a "key holder" in the very back so it took around 30 mins to check out. And again the stock was so poor you cant even buy enough ingredients to make a meal for your children. Pathetic is what i would call this store and the service you receive there.

I was very unsatisfied with the dollar store in Altamonte TN last night when I was turned away about 15 minutes before closing time when they were customers still inside the store and my mother told me that the same girl has been rude to her before the girls name was Christy myres and I can promise you that me or any of my family will never be spending any money there again and I have a big family I'm sorry cause I really like the dollar store but as long as Christy Myers is working there we won't be back

Nice checkout people. Only store in this town which makes it convenient. Lousy printer. Hard to take pics of receipts for apps for rewards. Place is somewhat disorganized.

In general I like most dollar general stores, you find different things in different stores, most stores carry different things and lots of times you can get great deals, check them out for yourself and see what deals you may find, just right for someone on a budget,😀
