BEWARE pictures are not accurate and cautious of the no refund policy. Rented a cabin and showed up to cabin #2. The outside was nice but when you open the door and go in the musty smell hits. The floors were mushy , walls had stain spots showing through the paint. The flooring was pieced together with different scraps. The bathroom wasn’t clean, nasty toilet. When I went to the office to complain I was told I was the first one to complain. All in all it cost me 175 for a cabin we refused to stay in and they refused to give our money back.

My mother and I came up last weekend because we wanted to get away and just unplug. I was blown away by the service, the food, the views, the cabin. EVERYTHING! My mom is retiring soon and you could tell it's making her anxious so we booked this on a whim to get destress. The staff was absolutely amazing. Eva was so incredibly patient with me while I asked 500 questions during booking and even helped me find the cabin mom would like the best. Rachel (I think) at the ship store was beyond amazing, the cabin was adorable and comfortable. Day one we took a four hour nap we were so at peace. Barb, Kristy and Chris took phenomenal care of us at the restaurant. (Madds says thanks for the treats!) We had originally planned to be cheap and eat in the cabin but wound up at Shankys for every meal but one. The food is THAT GOOD. pro tip- get the scallops. I cannot wait to come back. This trip meant everything to me to make sure my mom could destress and everyone at the marina made the experience more than perfect. So thank you. From a doting daughter to a stressed out mother ;) jk.

This Marina has always been my go to for boat rental. This year wasn’t a good year. We arrived to pick up a pontoon boat rental and was met with a wreck. See the photo for the condition. It had major damage on left pontoon which appeared to be taking on water; and tape all over the seats. It was very very dirty and the radio didn’t work at all. In all my experiences of boat rentals, this by far was the worse. We started to refuse, but they only offered to upgrade to a larger boat for much more $$$. Some of our family from a reunion rented at another marina and they got a much better condition pontoon for almost the same price. So it pays to look around and ask about the boats condition. ***We didn’t rent a room.

We spent the weekend 9/16-9/18/2022 on Dale Hollow. We went to Mitchell Creek marina on the evening of the 17th and ate dinner. This place was very busy and I wasn’t sure how long it would be before we got a table. We were seated immediately and were eating within 15 minutes! Great burgers and cut fries!! Will definitely be back next season if not one more late season trip this year!

Shakey’s has joined the Mitchell Creek Marina restaurant team this year. We found their veggie pizza to be delicious. Our server was fun and attentive. They had a band that was entertaining till the rain blew in. The gladly let us slip inside to a table to keep dry.

We stayed in "cabin" 8 and it was a bit run down. If you visit the website you can view a few photos and a video they made in 2016 of the cabin. It does not look the same. The bathroom was missing the toilet paper roll holder. The floor was messed up and uneven. Whoever installed the faucets in the place really did not know what they were doing. You had to rotate the knob several times before the water turned on. The towels were small and super thin super cheap. The furniture looks new and hadn't had the hell beat out of it yet so that part was nice. Oh and one of the windows was replaced with plexiglass they tried to just glue in. (See photo)The bad thing was when we got there the rooms hadn't been cleaned. And we got there after 3:00. Since cell coverage there sucks we had to walk back down to the marina to tell them. The shocked look on their face like oops totally forgot to do that. So yeah overall we kind of thought this place would be a little bit nicer because of the photos and the videos. But it was not. The place looks like it would have been nice years ago. But not anymore. I think there's a lot of potential here but whoever owns it, is not putting the money back into it. Plus they have nothing but kids running the place which wasn't that bad but it really wasn't that great either. I never felt a huge amount of confidence when talking to some of them about their answers they gave me. Won't be back!

We stayed in cabin 13 and had a lovely time. There is a front deck facing the sunset and a back deck facing the sunrise. You can see Dale Hollow Lake from both decks, but the back deck has nothing impeding your view! The appliances were nice, the bed comfy, and there were clean towels and sheets provided. There were a few small maintenance issues, but aside from that it was quite cozy. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

The hospitality of the staff was awesome. They will give you what you need, such as extra blankets or booster chairs. However the restaurant there is open seasonally and we had to find something else to do. The view was great and the insides of these cabins are immaculate! I would stay here again if needed to do so.

My family and I stayed here in cabin 1 for two nights and it was just wonderful! We ordered some food from their restaurant and it was fabulous and the prices are affordable too. My son and I wanted to fish but we could not afford a boat rental this trip and fishing from shore is very difficult because of the terrain. Next time we hope to be able to rent a pontoon boat and fully enjoy the lake. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the cabin was VERY clean and tidy and the beds were awesome. The only problem we encountered was there was no wifi the entire weekend. We were not there to surf the net obviously but at night when you're winding down you'd like to be able to check your email, etc...We did inform the office both days and we were told the problem was being worked on but unfortunately it never did work. There wasn't a cell phone signal at all but I blame our carrier Sprint for that. All in all it was a wonderful weekend and we will definitely be back. I am disabled and I think next time a pontoon rental will be the way to go for us as it would provide the best and easiest access to the lake!

Under new owners, prices are higher and they're not as involved with their customers, they're more concerned with money over customer satisfaction. Cabins are not cleaned well, banisters are falling down on deck, not safe for our 2 year old at all. Still a beautiful place but not the same as the previous 5 years we've been staying here... Shopping around for a New cabin for next summer. Previous owners gave us a free boat slip with our cabin rental and 20% off for paying in full 6mo+ ahead of time, no discount with these people, $75 cleaning fee added on (for a cabin that was dirty before we arrived)and$30 a day boat slip fee!

Went up for a few hours to eat at the Restaurant. You risk your life going here. In this time of COVID 19, not one employee wore a mask. Not one! The inside dining room was packed and not a single guest wore a mask either. To top it off the bathroom didn’t even have soap. No masks, no soap, no social distancing. The staff was 5 star friendly even though they didn’t wear masks.

Made our reservations for four nights in cabin number 1. According to the staff we were the first guests in cabin 1 this year and the back deck had been finished the day before our arrival. Check in went just fine, given our keys and the location to dock our boat for our stay. Very friendly staff during our entire stay. There is no heat in the cabin and the staff left us three space heaters as the first night got down to 40 degress. The cabin is a small 2 bedroom with one very small bathroom. The cabin was clean and smelled fresh. The kitchen is stocked with one pan, no eggs and sausage both cooking at the same time, three plates, three cups, the bare minimum of everything.I don't vacation to watch TV but this was final four NCAA basketball weekend so I made sure we booked a place with TV. Got to room, TV not working. Told staff on Saturday afternoon TV not working, need TV for games tonight. TV not fixed on Saturday. Stopped by office on Sunday and said no TV, need TV fixed. Told he would work on the TV issue. TV not fixed. Office again on Monday, NCAA finals tonight, really need our TV. We are paying for TV. 160 a night is not Motel 6 prices. Told they would fix, not fixed on Monday, no game for me. Tuesday they sent the young man that fills up the boats with fuel. He could not fix the TV and stated the TV in cabin 2 doesn't even come on so at least your TV comes on just no channels. We never had a working TV during our stay, so beware.Internet worked as long as guests in Cabin 2 aren't on at the same time. Verizon phone never worked in cabin or on the property. Not their fault, just beware. Internet was hit or miss the entire stay.We come back to our cabin on Tuesday afternoon and there is an SUV and boat trailer parked in all four parking places for our cabin. This would be the place we would park to make loading our car easier in the morning for check out. I go to the office and ask who owns the veh and trailer parked in front of our cabin. They answer they don't know but it's rude of them to take up all your parking.....u think......For safety reasons the resort should know what vehicles belong to who and how to contact the owners if needed. They put a "you are parked rudely" note on the vehicle but shocking, the vehicle was still parked in front of OUR rented cabin the next morning adding to my daily step total so thanks for that !!. The property is beautiful, the folks our friendly. There are positives but I felt that we did not get what we paid for. Other places on the lake, will check them out next time.

Overall a wonderful vacation (stayed in Cabin 1). Staff really friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff also friendly. Currently going through a change in ownership. We will come back to stay again. I have to mention Dewey. He has to be the most helpful and friendly person I’ve ever met. We had a dead battery on the boat and he let me use his personal jump-pack in case we needed it on the water. It’s people like Dewey that we will visit Mitchell Creek again! Also met a family that will be lifelong friends!! Grateful for a perfect vacation at DHL!!

Fathers Day weekend and NO DOCK STAFF came to assist in tying up at 1:00pm. No ropes on dock slips next to restaurant. Food was good size servings and tasted good. It'd be a nice marina to buy and change management or employees . . .

We booked cabin 11 for a Wednesday and Thursday night the first week of June. We brought snacks and some lunch food to eat on the rented pontoon on Thursday. We had planned on eating dinner at the marina. Well fortunately we found out they were closing at 3pm due to lack of business on Wednesday so we got a pizza (which was great) to eat for dinner that night. When we turned in our pontoon at 5pm on Thursday they had closed again and we had nothing to eat for the night. We had to pack our stuff and go home giving up our last nights cabin rental. "TAKE YOUR OWN FOOD"!

I booked and paid 6 weeks in advance. I was contacted by a voice mail message 4 hours before check in that they canceled my reservation. I didn't get that message because I live 4 hours away. Waited there for manager to contact me or something never did its 5 days later and still no refund I am a single mother. I can't afford losing the gas, time, and now can't even get my money back

We came down to Dale Hollow for a week house boating. I will start by saying that the boats were clean and nice for 10 year old rental house boats. The lake is amazing. My only complaint is the staff at the marina. I had called the Friday before we were to arrive on that Monday and asked if we would be allowed to board early if the boat was ready. I was told that we could. When we arrived on Monday around 9am we checked in (not expecting our boat to be ready that early) and let staff know we were there and ready so we could get our boat when it was ready. We were told it was an extremely busy weekend and the boat wouldn't be ready till 3. It is in the print that check in is 3pm. That is pretty standard for most house boating places but I've always been told "you can get it when it's ready" and that is usually earlier than the time said.We decided to take our bowrider boat out on the lake to explore for a few hours but noticed that the whole marina was very quiet with not really any employees around. We noticed only one houseboat sitting at the fuel dock and no one around. When we came back around noon to eat lunch and the marina looked the same. Very few employees and still the one houseboat, which ended up being ours, still sitting in the slip at the fuel dock with no one around. After lunch we asked if we could start at least loading our boat and were told it wasn't ready yet. We sat on the dock and waited till 2:40pm and after still not seeing anyone as much as touch our houseboat and asked again if we could load. It was just then around 2:50pm one guy walked in and asked "are you guys ready?" "go get your stuff."Once we got our stuff loaded a young man was trying to explain everything on the boat but could not answer any of my questions. He barely spoke and would just mumble that he would have to ask the boss.Once the boss came, he ran through some stuff and thankfully I have house boated before so I kind of know what I am doing.Every other place I've house boated before had hustling staff that was preparing your boat to get it out asap. We sat there for hours when we were told over the phone that if it was ready we could get it. The boat was ready the whole time we were there and we were just waiting on one guy to show up and basically push us out to sea. Then we brought the boat back for fuel and water midway through our trip and told staff what time was the earliest we could bring it in on Friday because we had a long drive ahead. We were told 8 am. I said we would be there shortly after 8. We pulled into the marina and no one was around. I honked the horn a couple times to get help docking the boat. These aren't exactly easy to dock if you're not use to driving them. Well, no one came out till after we had done it ourselves. Luckily I was able to dock it without a problem. Staff came out a few minutes later. The staff seemed friendly but the process was never explained and we were barely talked to. We had to ask and pry any information from staff. For being in the house boating business for 10 years, it's no wonder there were several empty house boats sitting in the docks not being used. I will not be renting here again. We felt like a complete outsider.

Our cabin rental was not cleaned before we arrived. The beds were slept in, trashcan had trash in it, and bathroom products were left on the counter. Our rental fee included a $75 cleaning fee and it wasn't even cleaned for us.

We love Dale Hollow Lake and have always had great friendly service at all docks...until last Thursday at Mitchell Creek Marina. We had good service at the restaurant and then attempted to get gas. There were no attendants. I tried to pump myself but the pump wouldn’t start. Then I went inside and listened to a guy complain over the radio for at least 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. The girl at the desk asked for an attendant over the radio and that guy told her to tell me they were closed because they were losing money. It was before 6pm on Thursday evening and they were supposed to be open until 7pm. I will never return to Mitchell Creek Marina!

Its not so much the place. As the new world order management. Made it clear. They were Northeast liberals. That think the people in the south esp here in Tennessee Are stupid red neck Republicans. So I don't know how long they will last. See ill listen to peoples opinion. Basically the new manager, insulted me to my face and my wife walked away. He bragged about the rich NorthEast, and how great it is. But he's down here making a living. Also the employees look like they are under control. Not like it used to be. Friendly!!!

The service is terrible. This place has really gone down hill. We waited in the restaurant for 15 minutes while the staff stood around on their phones. They never even took our drink order and we had to get our own menus. We left angry and will never go back. There are far too many great places to eat on the lake. I hope they get their act together.
