We were camping up in Yankton and found 2 tiny sick kittens. We called several clinics who wouldn’t see the kittens, but we called this one and they were able to get us in with in an hour and a half of us calling. The staff there was incredibly friendly. If we lived closer that would be our new vet clinic. They are wonderful. Don’t hesitate to take your pets there. They are wonderful!

I went in to find a new vet since mine is 60 miles away my dog needs a dental they could not say if they would be able to do it and would call me it’s been a week and I have called them several times and to busy to speak to me they don’t have the decency to talk to me I will have to drive the to Norfolk at least I have a good vet there

Got my dog in for an emergency visit on short notice even though they were booked for the day they still found time to help him and fix him up and get him on the antibiotics before the 3day holiday weekend! Very nice staff! A little pricey but worth it for my fur baby to be on his way to recovery ❤

The Animal Health Clinic has been our Vet for years. They provide excellent service, are always friendly, and very professional. They try their best to squeeze your pet in for more urgent needs and always help keep your pet up to date on routine evaluations. They do provide boarding for overnight stays.

Total LACK of compassion! I called on an early Saturday morning to request the vet see our cat in an emergency. They said they were booked and couldn't see us until Monday. We have been loyal customers for years. So sad of the lack of compassion. As an educator, I put in an incredible amount of after hours for my students and don't have the luxury of sending them a bill even if I wanted to.

I took my dog in for a check up and the vet said he was fine. 2 weeks later he started having problems getting around and was acting like he felt horrible. I tried to get him into the Animal Health Clinic, but they were booked. I took him to another vet who told me he had a major ear issue that was causing him severe discomfort and problems. This new vet said the Animal Health Clinic should have 100% caught this problem and if they had my dog would not have been suffering. I feel like they did a cursory glance at my dog and just charged me to say he was fine, when he clearly wasn’t. Normally I would think maybe they had just missed something, but the new vet said they were definitely at fault and recommended I never take him back. My dog is now doing well, but I am still very disturbed that he went through all of that discomfort for nothing. Be wary choosing the Animal Health Clinic for I truly believe they did not give my dog a full and proper examination.

They saved my precious fur baby's life after she went into convulsions after she was given the wrong dose of flea medication. We didnt think she would pull through but with the great staff there, she is back to her playful self ❤

Total lack of compassion and service to pets.If i could leave a negative star i would.I called a 8:50 am with a medical emergencyMy dog had an apparent seizure.I was told " booked..bring him in tomorrow"It's an emergency people....Found a super vet in Freeman who said bring him in now. Sorry to say however, my special dog did pass away later.Seems to me good service would be to put off someone else's non critical appointment and take on the emergency.Anyway I would never recommend a place that puts their greed ahead of someone's need.Please find a good vet. This is not the place.

We love Dr Teachout, Dr Franklin, and the whole Animal Health Clinic Family. Once Dr. Teachout stayed late to fix our Toy Poodle's hip when it was fractured and knocked out of place. He did such a beautiful job that she runs around like nothing ever happened. We are very careful to only use the emergency number in emergencies but thank God these Doctors get back to you if they are at all able to when your fur baby is suffering even after hours. They also do a beautiful job with the dog dental work and make visits a breeze for your pets. My dogs don't even mind their shots that much there. We are so very grateful for these wonderful people!

Third time is the charm, apparently. Yankton is a black hole of decent veterinary care, so we are grateful that we tried Animal Health Clinic and Dr. Teachout in our third and final attempt in this town. He is stern but honest and seems very knowledgeable, up-to-date, and fair in his treatment of animals. We were able to get our cat treated as we wished, but also learned a lot from Dr. Teachout and will return there for more care. The vet tech/assistant was also incredibly helpful and informative, and the front desk worker could not have been more kind or polite. My only complaint would be logistic -- they could use more seating in their lobby, but that's a small complaint to the utter insanity we dealt with at the two previous vets here in Yankton.
