I had a room booked for one night. My engine on my car blew up so I couldn’t make it and had to cancel my room. The rate for my room was $112. They said they would still have to charge me for the room and that was fine. But I got charged $260. They explained they charged a $50 dollar fee that is getting refunded. Still doesn’t explain the $148 dollar difference. So unhappy I have to deal with not having a vehicle and a really crabby lady on the phone as I’m trying to explain 148 extra isn’t a 50 dollar fee. Will never stay here again.Edit: They claimed to give me a 50% reduction. I still haven't seen that and still have a charge more than the original room price of 112. I still have a charge of 114 and it's been 4 weeks. I have just gave up and hope nobody else has to deal with this place.

Free parking garage for guests 5/5Front desk agent 5/5Matt greeted me as soon as I walked in to reception and gave exceptional customer service. Felt like we were right at home. Room is nice and comfy to relax after exploring the Black Hills. Thanks Matt for your kindness. You certainly made a great first impression of our visit. Please give this man a raise!

Ate a grill cheese sandwich for $12 which was horrible. It was made with gumball size mozzarella balls which did not even cover the toasted wonder bread. You should be embarrassed to serve this. I should have sent it back. On a positive note the onion rings were good. Did not stay in a room. That score was from past stays.Food & drinks: See above review

Our family vacation took a terrible turn when my brother fell in the shower. We had booked 5 rooms and we all agreed that tye shower floors were slippery. We didn't book handicap rooms as we didn't think we had to. Anyway, my brother fell, tore the tile soap dish off the wall trying to catch himself. He limped next door to our room and I called the front desk and reported his accident. Me and my niece rushed him to the Deadwood ER for xrays and stitches. Thankfully nothing was broken, just hurt his hip and knee and cut his hand. When we got back to the room, the bloody bathroom had been completely cleaned up by the staff. Except for the broken tile soap dish of course. My issue is this: no one from the hotel called the next morning to see how my brother was. No one offered to refund his room fee or even give us a discount. I had been on their call list to go back this year. I reminded them of my brothers accident and I kindly asked them via email if I could get a discount this year. I haven't heard from them since. I read a response from them on another negative review and they said, customer safety is our priority. Well, if something does happen during your stay, don't expect them to care at all ! Sad, but true story. Maybe they will respond to my review ?Our stay was duringKool Deadwood NitesAug 2023.Staff were nice, pet friendly, room was clean and quiet. The concierge told us how to get to the ER / hospital and got the bloody bathroom cleaned up.Safety: Showers floors are slick and my My brother fell !

Front desk staff DO NOT CARE, nor do they communicate with guests that check-in may be delayed. If you let guests know they are able to check in on time then they would be happy. No communication regarding the late check-ins due to staff being sick could have been communicated at 12:20pm when we arrived on the property but were told check-in is at 3:00pm. We arrived at the hotel desk at 3:00 and were told it wasn’t ready. We checked in at 3:30pm. The lady offered us free breakfast and we told her we wouldn’t be eating there and she said “if you use it, you use it, if you don’t you don’t. My husband even said that we wouldn’t be eating downstairs. The casino staff and valet were great.Rating is all about the front desk clerks. Poor customer service - yes I have worked in a few m/hotels and worked the front desk. We were always told to be honest with the customers and they would be appreciative. This is an accurate training suggestion.Rooms: The room was nice the ONLY REASON why we stayed at Deadwood Mountain Grand was because we may have a few cocktails and we won’t drink and drive!Walkability: Close to the other hotels and other casinos. You cross a major road when walking

Wow what a fantastic place to stay in Deadwood. Walking distance to everything! Parking ramp available to guests. The hot tub was amazing. It was hot and I had it to myself 3 days in a row. Nice pool. The bar and grill has good food at reasonable prices along with good service in the sports betting area with plenty of TVs and large screens. There is also restaurant seating available. The view out my window was beautiful. House keeping checked on me during my stay. They were remodeling during my stay so there was some noise but I’m still giving it 5 stars because with my ear plugs it didn’t really affect my sleep and the construction workers were very nice gentlemen. The valet/door guys open the doors every time you come or go. 5 star service. I’ll be back.

Unique hotel. Enter in lower level casino; then, a short walk to hotel elevators since it's built into a hill. Room was large, and modern. Prepay breakfast and you order off the regular menu. People at the front desk very personable. Will definitely stay here again the next time we're in the area.Rooms: Large room with great views.Safety: Doorman greets you when you enter the building from the parking lot.Walkability: Easy walk both to the downstairs casino as well as the downtown area.Food & drinks: Great food. We'll priced.

Used to love this place. Six Strings was a FANTASTIC place to eat with incredible offerings. Now they have just another average, overpriced burger joint. Lack of machines which is apparent during peak hours and if you want to order a drink good luck finding staff to take your order and even better luck getting it within the hour. Be aware if you plan to visit for a show the seating is VERY tight. They use locking hard plastic chairs which snap together with no arm rests so you are smashed against your neighbors on all sides.

7/27-28/2023Hotel signage needs work. Very confusing hotel entrance to lobby situation. Holiday Inn signage not pronounce. Google maps not helpful as it does not make destination clear.Hotel lobby only has one seat per front desk. Two seats would be helpful as most check in with two guests per room.Front desk staff were on their phones.

Attached parking garage is Handy. Good restaurant. Good Customer Service. I wasn't there to gamble however I left with having a good time and enjoyed myself.Has a great entertainment venue, with a Historical Significance in fact.Several offerings for a smoking area.I like that one of them has a TV.I have spent one night on one other occasion here it was dog friendly, the room was clean, and very private with awesome views! On this trip to Deadwood I did not stay at the Deadwood Mountain Grand I was there only on business, For the cool Deadwood Nights car show and auction.

will never go back. a friend of mine got deployment news (and was obviously upset) not being ridiculous or rude in any way but had started crying and was cut off for crying (not bawling or being a bother) but hugging a friend and shedding a few tears. and the bar staff had said upper management had cut him off because he was crying. i just think that someone serving for our country deserves better treatment then what was given by this place. i mean he are fighting for us and doing a duty no one there could imagine. he deserves better. our soldiers deserve better.

This really is a 5 star hotel, I had to bump it down one though because the pool was out of commission when we were there and that was a bummer for my kids since there are limited things at night in Deadwood that are kid friendly. They provided alternatives, rec center and the Holiday Inn Express pool, but nothing we were interested in. So I give 4 stars but I will 100% be back and we definitely recommend this hotel.

Only went to Dale's restaurant. Elk/Buffalo meats are both very lean resulting in a dry burger but if you're expecting that it was great. Requested extra crispy fries and was impressed.

We did not stay here, but came in to check it out. I wish we would have been staying here. We were greeted by Bruce, and he was so welcoming! Bruce showed us around, got us a drink and really talked about the place and all it offered. Just being welcomed there and the conversation made us want to come back and stay. Beautiful facility and so many things to do there. Concerts, wedding venues, nice food areas gift shop and coffe shop. Besides where we were staying down on main Street, this is the ONLY place where we were acknowledged and welcomed. That's all due to Bruce! Great employee!!! We will come here when we come next time!Noteworthy details: Made us feel welcome!!

Everything here was beyond excellent. Large assortment of games, Beautiful clean nice rooms. Had a wonderful steak tips at Dale's restaurant there, We also had breakfast there the wait staff is incredible in the food very well prepared those cooks know what they're doing. Everything was perfect right down to the young man who was a bartender and waiter and on the ball not to mention a very kind young man. I would suggest anybody stay here be sure and plan a meal at the restaurant it doesn't get any better than this.

As we arrived and brought the family we were excited as we have always stayed in cheaper hotels, but our excitement faded quickly when we joyfully were headed to the pool. Instead of enjoying the water we heard a screaching yell "POOLS CLOSED!" from the attendant at the front desk behind us. She yelled over the customer she was helping, and I asked why.. she gleefully replied it was closed for renovation. She continued with the customer in front of her, as me and my kids stood there, no apology or recourse, after a few minutes the attendent next to her quietly said, we had the option of going to the town's recreation center if we wanted to swim. So we walked to the towns rec center, we had no towels and the hotel wouldn't even let us take towel to the facility. The attendant told my husband since we booked through a 3rd party we had no access to the hotels amenities. For the amount of money we spent on this room and for TWO nights, It was a horrible experience. In fact we go to deadwood a lot for shows.. but after this experience I don't think we will ever go back to Deadwood again. I suspect and my gut feeling says It was more about the color of our skin than anything so if you are more lighter shade of human you may have a better experience than we did. One person really made the difference, but the company has this person sitting front and center for a reason... se la vi.

I am sorry to read the previous comment about their stay at the Deadwood Mountain Grand. We stayed last night and had a wonderful experience. The parking garage is across the street and you do have to walk through the casino to get to the hotel. However, our welcome was warm and the casino was not crowded. We took the elevator up to the hotel and were warmly welcomed by Jane. Our friends had their two dogs with them and Jane explained the pet friendly room and short walk to the gates pet area, which was very nice. Deadwood’s famous Main Street was a short walk. We returned to the hotel for dinner and we’re treated very kindly by Michelle. The food was very good. I had the chicken and rice soup and loved it. Our $10 of free play that Michelle gave each couple for dining in was turned in and we got a surprising return! It was so nice to open the windows at night and enjoy the breeze for sleeping. This morning, Dennis was very kind and told us about the history of the hotel, explained about the concerts, and took us upstairs to see the concert venue. We were so impressed, we are taking about a girl’s trip back for a future visit at Christmas. I would highly recommend this hotel. We aren’t gamblers, but there are plenty of other things to do in the area.
