This hotel does not meet expectations for a Holiday Inn. The lobby and rooms have been updated but it's kind of like lipstick on a pig. I checked in around 3 pm. At 10 pm I still couldn't get any hot water so I called the front desk and was told that a hot water heater was out. This was not mentioned to me at check in. I would have 100% gone somewhere else. When I checked out, I spoke to the manager and she agreed I should have been told when I checked in. She offered me points. No, I'd like something taken off the room. She took a whole $30 off lowering my rate from $175 to $145. I didn't feel like this was nearly enough but I didn't have time to argue and didn't want to make a scene.The room itself was adequate but the entire bathtub faucet and shower was loose and the hot and cold were reversed. The furniture was dated. The TV's are circa 1990.The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. I just felt like I paid way too much for what I got, even after the adjustment. There aren't a lot of options in Winner but I'll be staying somewhere else next time I'm there.

My daughter and I found this motel to be outstanding, from the customer service at the front to the breakfast the Saturday morning. George? did a great job with the omlets and keeping the cinnamon rolls fresh. Good coffee too. The whole breakfast was delicious. Our room was clean and quiet. We will definitely stay here again if passing through.

$171 for queen bed for 1 one seems outrageous for a less than mediocre room. I have had Super 8s for half the price that are a massive upgrade when compared to this Holiday Inn room. Service and check-in was good, otherwise.Rooms: Boring

I booked a room at holiday Express and suites in Winner South Dakota, and immediately found myself stuck in the snow. After calling a tow truck and finding out it would be several hours before they could get to my location, I called and told the Holiday Inn reservationist my predicament and she informed me that Holiday Inn would gladly cancel my booking that I had made less than 1 hour earlier, however they had no choice but to penalize me $ 57.00 or 30% of the price of my over priced room!, FOR LESS THAN 1 HOUR. I'm thinking about penalizing Holiday Inn with no more business. What a policy, Merry Christmas to all policy makers at Holiday Inn. I hope you never get In a car accident and need to cancel a booking an hour after you book it.Noteworthy details: I've never stayed there. Just got penalized for cancelling my reservation less than 1 hour after booking, due to car accident.

This could very easily have been a 5 star but it misses even the 4 star due what seems to be a general lack of routine housekeeping.There are a lot of great things about this hotel which would take a typical 4 star rating over the top such as the awesome blackout shades with framed edges to block out all the light (I have this at home but I’ve never seen this in a hotel before, pretty awesome) a Keurig coffee machine, cool toilets that do half and full flush… and so on.The general condition of the hotel is very nice and well kept. Staff is friendly and the continental breakfast with their biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon as well as a full assortment of drink choices and cold food items including yogurt is all really excellent. The pancakes machine was out of order but that kind of thing happens, can’t fault them for that too much.So with all the great things this hotel has to offer, where did it miss its mark? Well, one thing I always check in a hotel is the air vents and heat/AC unit. The last Holiday Inn Express I stayed in was on point with this, everything was freaking spotless. This one, however, missed that mark.Another disappointment was when I jumped in the shower at 5:30 AM, the shampoo, conditioner, AND body wash were all COMPLETELY empty. I spoke to a co-worker who stayed here as well and he said that his body wash was also empty but he did have shampoo and conditioner.The headboard had a layer of dust on it… not horrible but you would think that would be something that would be wiped after each stay but apparently it’s not.As far as places to stay in Winner SD, you might not find a better place… for the most part it is a nice hotel but a little attention to the routine housekeeping would go a LONG way!

Had an awesome 3 nights staying here. Very comfortable. Wonderful breakfast. The 4th night was upsetting with guys coming to the motel at 1 o'clock in the morning loud and drunk, and we had to leave at 4:30 to get on the road. But the stay and staff was great.Rooms: Clean and comfortable

The Manager needs to go. I booked my room over 6 weeks in advance for our class reunion. I did it online so I called and confirmed it afterwards. Everything was good to go. I had other classmates ask me about rooms a few days later. So I called back to see if a room could be connected to mine. Since I had the suite with the jetted tub, they told me they could get one on the same level. So they again confirmed my room. I never ended up adding the second room. A few weeks later, the manager called and said a wedding booked that room before I did. He said he would give me a discount on my room. I let it go for a couple days, but I had a friend that already had a room. She wanted to come in a day earlier so I said I would get the room for that night. I called and asked to talk with the manager again. He said he remembered me and would cancel the original two nights and add Thursday night. Thursday when we got there, he at first told me the conversation never happened and that they didn't have a room for me. He again said he would cancel my other 2 nights. Luckily someone didn't show up and they got us into a different one. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing. I reserved the room with a prepaid card. I see this morning they tried to charge it for the 2 nights I requested twice to cancel. I am a rewards member and cancelled before the cancellation date.

The staff is extremely nice and hard working. They made it a point to be sure each room was cleaned properly. I did the bed bug check and it passed with flying colors. We normally don't stay at Holiday Inns as I have had a few vad experiences but this was a pleasant surprise and I am so glad we selected this one on our road trip. There is road construction outside so the road is a mess but not a big traffic area so it really isn't the end of the world.Walking distance to some food places and a little store for things you may have forgotten to pack.

Pool & Spa were very nice, good water temperature!Rooms were clean, and it smelled good!The only bad thing was but wasn't a problem to me at all was the toilet paper wasn't changed from the previous people who stayed before we had checked in wasn't changed to a new paper roll LOL. But that's about it.Over Hospitality was on point 100% and my kids felt safe around the environment. Will recommend staying here if your traveling:)The breakfast buffet has a PANCAKE MAKER totally worth it and yummy!!! Food was excellent 💞💞

Colleen was awesome! We got stuck in ground blizzards and couldn't find a place for over 100 miles. She was warm and welcoming and put us away from most occupied rooms so we could sleep in (arrived at 2am after 5 hours, zero visability with 2 teenagers for 150 miles). She was very helpful and just the best sight and company after a very stressful drive. Thank you Colleen!

Went to Winner for a class reunion. I placed my reservation in August for Oct 7 for 2 nights. When I got to the hotel I checked in at the front desk and the checkin went smoothly. The morning of Oct 8 the front desk was knocking at my door telling me it was time to leave because I only booked it for 1 night. I explained my reservation and they said they would add a night and not bother me again. When I received my bill I noticed they were trying to charge me $20 more a night than what I had originally booked. The manager immediately gave me the correct price. Later in the day of Oct 8 the manager called me and asked why I never checked in on Oct 7. I told him I did check in and I had just talked to him that morning. He said I had a different name on the reservation. I only have one name. Luckily it was figured out and I did not have 2 charges on my card but it was extremely inconvenient. One of my friends called and confirmed their room 3 times before their arrival date and when they showed up the hotel told them they didn’t have a room. And the hotel never accommodated them at all. The room was clean and comfortable. The staff has no idea what’s going on and obviously don’t communicate with each other. For the high price you would think they would have their ducks in a row.

As of 4 Aug 2022, the ONLY road to get to this hotel is completely under construction. It is entirely DIRT. If you're on a motorcycle be aware and careful.We were issued a traditional key for our room because the card key system on our door was broken.The room was clean but smelled damp and of mildew regardless of thermostat setting (hot or cold).The staff were very friendly and professional which is the only thing that kept is from going g somewhere else. They WANTED our business.

The staff was nice and helpful.The room and the hotel where not complete so there was construction material in the hallway and like most contractors they were working first thing in the morning. I would allow them to finish before opening next time. The room was decent but assembled poorly being in an accessable king room the anti slip strips in the shower were not adhered properly and pealed off as soon as they got wet causing a hazardous situation falling but not injured. I believe that given time the hotel has great potential. If I'm in the area again in the future I will see if they have a opening.

During a family trip I got severely car sick!! We decided to stop in Winner at the the Holiday Inn. The motel as a whole was amazing! The staff was helpful and happy. The lady at the front desk in the middle of the night was amazing.Best breakfast we have ever had at a motel!

I appreciated the cleanliness! The rooms need microwaves and bar refrigerators. We had to heat water in the coffee pot. I was delighted with the eggwhite veggie omelet. Awesome. I got the last one at only 7:15 AM. By 7:30 the staff brought out another pan of them but there was a crowd of 8 or more waiting for them. I thought the man with the huge belly should be congratulated for choosing a healthy breakfast until he walked by with two of the omelets, the biscuit and gravy sausage and scrambled eggs. In five minutes the second an of omelets was gone. I suggest a second serving station for the hot items. It’s too crowded.

Stayed here with my family. The staff was polite, quick, and helpful. The room was clean and everything was in order. The swimming area was also clean and my family had a nice time unwinding there. The breakfast was great and well stocked. The lady staffing the breakfast was also very polite and helpful. I would choose this hotel if I am ever in the area again.

Can't say enough good about this place. From the moment we walked in to see smiling, pleasant Hannah, who found our IHG number and got us a great room...to the full breakfast bar watched over by Lyn (everything! Scrambled eggs, eggwhite omelets, biscuits n gravy, fruit, pancakes, cereal, yummy cinnamon rolls and more!!)...to the clean pool and whirlpool with lots of towels available. Our room was wonderfully cool, cleN with fridge, coffee station and the most comfy bed ever loaded with pillows!! Truly felt like home. Win er SD has a winner with this Holiday Inn Express.

Staff was pleasant and helpful. Hotel was well-kept and pretty standard for a holiday inn. I had a hard time sleeping because the mattress wiggled like jello every time my husband or I moved, and the room smelled like someone had smoked in it, despite posted signs against it.

We weren't sure what to expect coming to visit family in such a small town. There are actually several other hotels in this little town of 3300 people but you can just tell from the outside that Holiday Inn Express appears to be the nicest by far. Once inside you'll find the same. I'm not sure how old it is but if it's not new it seems they may have had a recent renovation as everything just looks so new. The rooms are super clean. They also have a wonderful breakfast included with your stay.

Everybody there was really nice! We got in late and the women at the front desk were tired but still cheerful. The next morning the manager chatted with us and sent us in our way with a smile. And, we got upgraded to the executive suite (mainly because there weren't other rooms available). All in all we felt like winners staying in Winner, SD!

Quiet nice rooms. Front desk staff was amazing. Ms. Norma was so helpful and amazing. The housekeepers were s little disturbing. We are here working nights for a local bar and they come nick on our door at 8 am. We have felt with it but we dont have a do not disturb sign for our doors. Other then that it was great!
