Visiting from California into this place selling beef sticks w/tomato and black cherry ice cream was too good to be true. Foremost- the sweetest staff there! I eat ice cream maybe 5 times a year or less. …. And this black cherry 🍒 was the creamiest n dreamiest ice cream with extra large cherries. It was delicious and a large scoop!The beef sticks were very tasty, and I plan to go here on each visit.I have to watch my cholesterol and the nutrition count mattered to me at my age. We ate these for days while fishing.Other goods : frozen meats of various kinds and frozen pizza.I can imagine how good they must be.Some good tasting interesting retro cornflake candy bars too !Thank you again for the great pit stop and photo opportunity inside and outside. Everything in the store is high quality and flavorful. Great place to buy gifts of small batch sauces, pickles,canned,bottled,fresh and frozen foods including lots of bacon types. The purple cow also sells great homemade ice cream by the cone ,bowl, quart. Very fun place to stop!

Always worth stopping by! The best ice cream!!! Has beef jerky and all of the butcher shop goodies that anyone could want!! So so so good!! A must stop on any of your trips through the area!!!

All the meat is frozen, no fresh cuts but quality is really good. Ice cream is a standard dip shop with 10 flavors. Worth the stop, simple and easy.

So so so delicious! Lots of options! Several hard ice cream flavors to choose from and many toppings and favors for the ‘Arctics’ and they had lots in them too. Very affordable too! Took our family of 8 here while passing through and it didn’t break the bank and everyone loved it! playground out back for the kids to burn some energy on also. Thanks!!

Perfect place to get some much needed ice cream therapy. They have the BEST butcher products. We always buy a few packs of their meatsticks, brats, or jerky and I absolutely love the cheese curds they have here. Plus the decor they have is unique and just plain fun to look at. 👍

Always love to grab ice cream from the Purple Cow when we're at our cabin! They have lots of varieties, yummy blizzard style treats they give you a lot for your money. Recommend to anyone!

A must visit if you're in the area. They make their own ice cream and it is awesome!!!! We were in the area for a family fishing trip and stopped by when we were done each day. And don't be afraid to try the bacon ice cream!!

This place is a must to stop at during your trip. Their variety of meats and ice cream are sure to make your palette melt from joy. Also, the lady who works there is very cordial and makes the place feel very welcome. Overall, I would recommend this play to any and all lovers of quality goods!

They've really stepped up their operation since the last time I was there a couple of years ago. They've added soft serve ice cream and corresponding malts, shakes and other treats to their menu. Definitely worth stopping in.

Awesome meat freezer selection along with ice cream parlor. Flavors of meats I hadn’t heard of- like blueberry beef sticks and Swedish potato sausage. A wide assortment of flavored bacons and beef sticks with prepackaged sliced pork loin and small packages of meat, sauces, etc. Perfect for preparing at your campsite!

You HAVE to stop here! Amazing home made ice cream and it has a meat store also with tons of interesting brat and burger flavors. We are having the Apple Cheddar Brats and the Buffalo Blue Cheese brats tonight 😊

I was really disappointed. We were really looking forward to going. It had been at least 25 years since going here. I had a banana split. The soft serve wasn't very frozen. The bananas were over ripe. The whip cream was limp & probably the final serving in an aerosol can. The girl that made it had a very poor attitude. That probably should have told me right then not to order it. Live & learn...The 2 other ones in our group had the hard scooped ice cream and enjoyed that.My husband got some beef sticks and cheese curds from the store & also enjoyed them as well.

The ice cream doesn't live up to the hype. Customer service doesn't seem to be able to keep up with more than a handful of people. Unless the parking lot is nearly empty, I'd recommend skipping it.Edit: parking lot was not full when we visited. Five people inside seemed to overwhelm the staff, but they might be facing staffing problems like so many other places.

This place is very nice, I stopped here every time I come through Waubay. Awesome meats and bacons. Many to choose from. Prices are just up a bit but worth it.Icecream is very good, they have Blueberry which is awesome if they have it
