They were super kind, and helpful but they told me they couldn’t help me because my 50 pound pup is too aggressive. She’s a year and 3 months. But you guys have an equine center next-door and deal with really really large animals, how can you not take care of a 50 pound dog, ridiculous! I’m not going to get her fixed, and I’ll just find a traveling vet to come and give her shots. Obviously your vets need to quit being scared of small animals, it’s called a muzzle for a reason. I’m kind of disgusted about this whole situation actually. I’m just trying to take care of my dog and they basically made it impossible because they refused to let me go back and stand with her and they would not muzzle her to put her out to get fixed. SMH. Won’t be going back.

The location is easy to access for interstate. The staff from start to finish was amazing! They truly care, not only about the animal but the whole family. That's how we feel about our cridders, their part of our family. The staff spotted this and kept us informed and involved during all of their care.

This vet takes the time to look into what your pets need! They are very personable and care about you and your pets. I recently had them look at my two dogs (Alaskan Malamute, sisters) and had them run some tests, due to some issues they were having. This vet made some suggestions for us to improve the quality of health/life for our dogs and they are working. So thankful that they took the time and care! Blessing!

I called Friday morning for a case that wasn’t life or death, but was an emergency. I have a 3 hour drive, and they were able to squeeze me in. Although Dr Mez already had a full day booked, he took the time to thoroughly examine my horse, found the cause and (as always) was friendly and patient in explaining the diagnosis, treatment and expected recovery time. The thing I appreciate most about Dr Mez is that he always treats me and my horses like we are the only thing he has to do today. He’s efficient, but never makes it feel like he’s rushing.

This place is down right the best place in Sturgis to take your loved pets. The other vet in town was sooo rude! These people made me feel so warm and inviting while I had to put my fur baby down. Come here for all your vet needs if your in the area. I'm in rapid and they took care of me just fine.

I recently had my "wild child", 92 pound dog at the Sturgis Veterinary Hospital-Equine Center for minor surgery and other treatments. His anxiety issues were in overdrive, but the technician, Tiffany, calmly and efficiently controlled his behavior and was very kind to him, letting him explore the surroundings. Lucy, the receptionist was kind and sweet to him, too, as well as efficient. In the office and on the phone, they took all the time I needed to answer questions and discuss his conditions and treatment plans.

Recently had our mule's eye removed. Dr. Janke. Dr. Mez and Kaitlynn were all very helpful. Fees were reasonable. After care instructions were great. We had one question the next day. That was answered in one phone call. Ninja is doing fine. Thank you!

Had a 2 year old horse colt that I thought might of had dust pneumonia. Called these folks up and they got me in right away. After drawing his blood and running labs they zeroed right into the problem. He was choking. Took him inside and cleared the choke. Did a great job and am I glad I went to see them instead of giving the horse antibiotics and turning him out. Thanks Sturgis Equine

I was so desperate to find a vet clinic. I tried several in Rapid City and was just disgusted. Since I gave up after four, it's not fair to judge them all that way, but a friend highly recommended Sturgis Veterinary Hospital. She said it was worth the drive. She was right. The staff is awesome! Lucy is a sweetheart! They are not run by greed and that seems to be a huge problem in some of the Rapid vets clinics. I can't recommend them highly enough. It really is worth the drive!!
