Sturgis jerky used to be our family’s benchmark for jerky. Over the years the price has increased significantly but because our kids love it, it’s a bonus treat in their Christmas stocking. And they’ve always looked forward to receiving it. Last year, several of the packages we purchased had mold in them. After informing Sturgis, they provided a $5 credit . I gave them another chance this year and bought almost $200 of Jerky. Again….several packages had mold. I’ve informed the company and am awaiting a response.

I use to love this jerky kinda pricey but worth it. I have to get when driving through wheatland wyoming. So I decided to try ordering through sturgis meats. I ordereded 8 for free shipping.The peppered was not peppered at all contacted the company just to let them know. They said let me know what you ordered sorry we will replace your order. Never recieved that. so I figured I would try again with the redox still peppered wasn't peppered and haven't heard from them since....

I have love this jerky since I was 6 years old. Every time I travel, I would always buy it. It’s pretty much a staple in South Dakota for traveling. It’s a bit salty, tough to eat at times, expensive, pretty much the essence of South Dakota.

Grew up eating this jerky . Loved it. Haven’t had in the last few years because of all the other brands on the market . Decided to pick up a pack(pepper). I was very disappointed. It was moister than I remember and it wasn’t salty or peppery.

I’m so sad to even be writing this review. I have done business with this company since 1996 and even longer when I lived in Wyoming and bought their jerky at minute man. I ordered a smoked ham and some jerky. And it took a full 4 days. I kept in touch with them letting them know that it was a full 24 hours past the eta. Once I received it the ham was not smoked only cured and it wasn’t cold. I called the company to let them know that it wasn’t what was on the site and Leanne said she would tell the owner. That was Tuesday morning and I have called two more times only to leave messages that again went unanswered. They have ignored me long enough that it feels deliberate now which is very upsetting. I’m just a loyal customer that wasn’t given what I ordered. Now I have a 13 lb ham I don’t have any idea what to do with or if it’s even healthy to eat. I take no joy in writing this review but they dropped the ball when it comes to customer service.

Always been my families and my absolute favorite jerky. Price is a bit high, but completely worth it. To date (20 yrs) I haven't found a better beef jerky.

Today was my first time there and it won’t be my last!! I’m up here for the summer setting up the kitchens and cooking for employees and the owners and this place has good meat at fairly good prices considering everything has gone up!! My only “complaint” is that you can’t see what you’re getting cuz it’s all in the back. When I lived up in Tacoma I used to go to Stewart’s meats and Sturgis Meats is very comparable just without the displays… next time I stop in I’m gonna make sure yo try their jerky cuz I believe I’ve already tasted the best at Stewart’s I just gotta make sure!!!

It would be more accurate to be able to give this company a zero star rating. We purchase a cow every year from a local rancher and this was the first time we used Sturgis as a processor. They have been nothing short of an unmitigated disappointment. (1) Every single 1-pound package of ground beef I have eaten thus far has between 3-5 pieces of bone fragment in it. Last night while eating dinner I nearly chipped a tooth on yet another piece of bone.(2) Even though I specifically requested the organ meat from my cow after processing, the organ meat was discarded and Sturgis has made no apology or attempt to make this error right by the customer.(3) They have taken zero responsibility for their errors, poor customer service, and in turn have been blaming it on my rancher (a rancher I have been using for over 5 years and have only had a wonderful experience with her). I do not appreciate the lack of ownership and blaming my amazing rancher. Shame on them for that.I will never use this processor again. They ruined an amazing head of beef and have done NOTHING to try to make it right for the customer.

I believe.its the best Jerky around. I used to buy the 24pk all the time at Sam's club and went last week and it's not there anymore. Only place I have found it is at their store / website and it's $72.00 for a box of 24 and it used to be 25.00 - 30.00. I know things have gone up but that's crazy almost $ 3.00 a oz of beef. I don't mind paying a premium for great food but that just to high for this guy.I'm not trying to bash the company, I think it's the best stuff around.

Between 1970 and 1975 I went to high school out there best beef jerky I've ever had and I still see it's number one I'm in Chicago now but plan on ordering it the share with my friends and get them to order some. This is Jose Martinez I miss all you guys.

The Black Hills are one of the greatest places and Sturgis Jerky is one of those little hometown icons that make it even better. I grew up with a huge love of Sturgis Jerky and now my kids love it as well. Does anyone remember the cheese curds they had there?

When I lived in Deadwood S.D. we all ate this jerky all the time as It was the best ever. Glad to find it online and looking forward to getting some to see if it is the same. Will post again after getting it.

I called over six weeks in advance to get my deposit back on a hold for a butcher date - they will not refund my deposit unless they get someone to fill it - we didn't get all our meat back the past two years - even though we called to complain - missing two entire legs of lamb plus more - seems pretty shady to me

Used to have Avery good product but it isn’t work the 25 mile drive to get there before they close and they apparently close early whenever so my son overseas will not get jerky won’t make the drive again

They can't follow cutting instructions and then loose half of your meat we found some of our meat out of state 250 miles away this is not the first time but it will be the last

Shop lost my cut sheet and made it up on cutting day, ruining about 400 of my 700lb of beef. Roasts were all cut at only 2"! I ordered all steaks st 1" and got 1/2" mechanically (destroyed) tenderized 'steaks'. When asked why it was cut wrong, shop offered no explaination and no offer for compensation. Shop charges by foot of packaging material, meaning that the way it was cut caused a lot of extra cost for poor service.

Customer service is everything. I asked for a specific cut. What I got is, there's the freezer. We have wanted to try this place for a long time. Nothing was in the freezer I wanted.
