I can not say enough good things about this vet and the kindness the staff has shown me. I just transferred to this vet clinic after hearing great things and had my puppy seen for his shots and to schedule a hernia repair/neuter. I also had brought my cat in to be seen for what I thought was an ear infection. Upon examining her, Dr. Serbousek thought it would be best to sedate and intubate to get a closer look. Mind you my appointment was at 4:20 and by the time we got done with my puppies shots and exam was almost 4:40 and Dr. Serbousek was the only vet there at this time with at least a handful of other patients to see. Well come to find out my cat had a nasopharyngeal polyp and it needed to be removed as she was beginning to go into respiratory distress. Even though he was the only Dr there he took the time out of his busy schedule to ensure the best possible outcome for my cat. I couldn’t be more grateful to Dr. Serbousek and his team. He is an amazing Vet!

Mack is my Pit Bull Mastiff. He truly enjoys every visit to the Vet . Since I never know how interactions with other animals might go, Northern Hills has made it comfortable for us to make all his appointments stress free by way of using secondary entrance directly into exam room.Mack has never shown aggression towards people but since rescuing him a couple years ago from shelter he doesn’t care for some noisy dogs in small waiting rooms.I originally tried a different vet his first time in Rapid and we were both not comfortable.Then I returned to Northern Hills where I had gone originally over the years with previous dogs of mine and I am happy I did.They truly care about what’s in my best friends best interests and go out of their way to accommodate our needs and requests.From the Veterinarians to technicians employed at Northern Hills, they are always true professionals , compassionate and polite.I’m with them now and would never think of going anywhere else.

Today we had to put our beloved cat to sleep. The Drs and staff were very comforting and supportive in this time of sorrow. I would highly recommend them for your fur babies needs. Thank you for everything you do .

Took my pups in for nail trims. Since the business is still practicing social distancing, I called when we arrived and waited in my car. A tech came out and got my kiddos 1 at a time. We were finished pretty quickly. I'm new to the area and since my mom uses this clinic I thought I'd try them. Very happy with our visit. My kelpie mix is very fearful and they treated her very lovingly. This was her first nail trim and the tech said she was really good.

My boy Oakleys kidneys were failing and everyone else said 3 or 4 days to Euthanize him. Under the Circumstance ,he was already bad, and Northern Hills Veterinary Clinic said they’d fit me in on a Saturday. God Bless this establishment and everyone associated.Thank you very, very much. We purchased a puppy 5 days ago and she started showing signs of Parvo yesterday evening, We called Northern Hills Veteran clinic, and they worked her this morning. The staff and doctor were very helpful and pleasant. They give us results for the parvo test right away, positive. They gave us options and hope!

You guys are the only clinic in town and you dont even open until the afternoon. That makes it almost impossible to ever get in to have our animals seen. You dont even have emergency options. A person would have to try to safely drive 40+ minutes to another town, in an emergency situation, to hopefully make it in time to have their animal seen or saved by another vet, because yall have horrible business hours and dont offer emergency veterinary services. You also arent able to offer help for other animals, like snakes, lizards, and those alike. I think whoever works there, should expand their studies on more types of animals, emergency training for emergency situations so you can take in pets who need immediate help, and yall definitely need to be more available for appointments. Only being open after 1:30pm, is crazy.

We love Northern Hills! Dr. Lance Serbousek is extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and caring to our two dogs. He is always willing to talk over and go through expectations. We are so happy to have found him! Our dog had surgery with him today and we felt at peace knowing he was in amazing hands!

I would give a zero if I could. Not only did I bring my dog straight there because the other vet was closed and my pup was bleeding and fatigued. The Vet didn’t even come out to see him or suggest anything besides to check out the place I stated was closed. You’re all in the wrong profession.

I will be forever grateful for Northern Hills Veterinary clinic for diagnosing my cat with hyperthyroidism after she suffered for a year under the care of other vets in Rapid City. I grew frustrated with her recurring urinary tract infections that her former regular vet would only treat, she was getting them about once a month and declining in health, but that vet would do a blood panel and tell me let her recover for a little while then they would do a tooth extraction and that would stop the UTIs. I sought a second opinion at a different vet because I felt that something else had to be wrong. The next practice insisted that she was stressed and I just needed to move her litter box, and at this point they were also doing monthly blood panel testing and another round of antibiotics monthly. After a year of frustration from the other vets dismissing my concerns and requests that we see if something else could be causing her issues, and being heartbroken watching my sweet senior kitty suffer, I decided to seek a third opinion. I'm so glad that the research I did trying to find the best vets brought me to Northern Hills Veterinary Clinic, because they diagnosed her within minutes after her first visit and she improved dramatically with thyroid medication. I credit them with giving me another happy year with her and when she was ultimately diagnosed with lung cancer a year later they were compassionate and caring through the end of her life. I highly recommend Northern Hills Veterinary Clinic.

I have 5 year old dachshund who started having issues being able to walk with her hind legs. Concerned that she might have injured her back, my wife called them and they were closed because everyone was at lunch. She drove to the clinic and there was someone there, my wife told them we had an emergency with our dog. She was told by this individual that "we don't do emergencies" and all the doctors were out. She asked if she could call one of the vets and was told "I don't have their number". I have previously taken my other dogs here with emergencies and not had any issues. I'll never be back. The girl told my wife we could always go to Rapid. Thanks a whole lot for nothing

Another exceptional, professional experience. Our dog Randy was not eating or drinking for a few days so we called and they waited for us to come in on a Saturday. After a caring and extensive exam making the diagnosis and proper treatment plan, Randy returned to normal within three days. Just moved to the area and our cat got sick. They got our cat in pretty quickly. They preformed an ultrasound, urine test and gave her 2 different meds. Our bill was less than 200, which is very reasonable. We have had less done at other vets for twice the price. The vet and staff were friendly and great with our cat. The rooms were clean and welcoming. Will definitely use them as our vet from now on. **Edit-9 months later**our dog was diagnosed with lymphoma and they were always quick to get her in and even to just let us vent or bounce off ideas to keep her comfortable. Since lymphoma is hard to treat, and if you do is costly with a high recurrence rate, we chose palative care at home. The vet office is top notch even after we took our pup in to be put to sleep (cancer spread to whole body and was in pain) even after she was gone they were very caring and even sent a card about how sorry they were that she went downhill so fast (only a 3 week battle). These vets care for the whole family, not just the pets.

Our kitten, Jack injested 3 hair ties and got very sick and needed emergency care. Doctor Lance and his team were able to see him immediately, even during a completely booked day. They then were able to perform emergency surgery and keep him overnight on that same day and worked with me on a limited budget and were able to save Christmas. This facility is absolutely incredible and I will always return to them. Thank you team for saving our baby’s life!!!

Took a well known neighbor's pet here to be cremated. They were kind and caring. I called on a Thursday and took him in on a Saturday. They called by the next Monday to let me know he was ready to come home one last time. I believe the gal at the desk said they just opened up a crematorium for themselves. Maybe the city's had closed but I can't be sure. Regardless, they were less money than anyone in Rapid City. You get a beautiful wooden box to put the ashes in however you choose. I just appreciate all they did on such short notice. This furbaby deserved the respect he was given. I thank them for being so attentive and caring.
