Nice staff! You can hang out with all the cats in this one big room (not all separately caged). You can feed all the dogs as many treats as you want. Variety of animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, etc

The staff are very sweet and gentle with their animals and you can really tell that they care a lot about them. They answer any questions that you might have and the kennels were kept very tidy as well :) This is also a no kill shelter we adopted a very sweet cat from them and he is very healthy and happy! 10/10 recommend!

Great, no-kill shelter. Staff will answer all your questions and try to match you with the best animal. I also love that you can go cuddle with kitties in the cattery!

After our dog (my daughter's service dog) got away from a friend while she was out hiking the humane society tried to press charges against her and refused to give us him back and adopted him out to someone else.We believe it's in retaliation from last year when the director's dog bit my daughter and she couldn't provide proof of rabies shot so they ended up putting it down.

Oh my goodness, I forgot to leave a review! This place is wonderful, they truly care for the animals here. They do anything and everything to take care of them. I adopted a cat almost a year ago. I try to remember to bring food for them as often as I can. They are always grateful for anything you bring. Such a great place I could go on and on. Thanks for all you do! ❤️

Lady inside was completely rude and honestly judge mental that I RESCUED a pregnant cat before a big freeze. Ignorant as all hell. I never write reviews this bad. But the fact you were almost angry at me for taking in an animal in need says a lot about the humane society.

This is Diana...AKA Lily. She was abandoned at my apartment complex and I had to call Animal Control to come get her when she ran up to me with half her ear nearly off. Not only is this a no-kill shelter, they're going to remove the rest of her ear and fix her before putting her in for adoption. I've personally gotten two cats here, my moms dog, my MIL's two cats, and my boyfriend's uncle's two cats. They're a great organization who truly care about animals.

Very disappointed that a shelter that should be for ultimately finding a furever home for pets is SO uncooperative with public that is interested in possibly adopting a pet! We are stable empty nesters with time to spend with another dog in our spacious home on 4+ acres in the country. We have owned several dogs over the years. We have an 8 yo lab that we are considering get a companion for and tried to call. Message to fill out application; we don’t even know yet if this dog would be one we’d want to pursue adopting. So we drive there hoping to talk to a person/ see if we could just look at the dog. Told due to COVID we could not see the dog interested in. Asked if we could see it outside, wanted to see actual size & behavior. Nope! I can go to many other public places, most in SD without a mask, but they can’t give us 5 minutes to look at the dog outside. Also they said the dog interested in may not do well with our dog as it doesn’t seem to like other dogs, yet the website says “...does seem to like other dogs...”. When I pointed this out to lady identified as manager she said she doesn’t control the website!! Feel sorry for any animals that end up there, don’t seem very intent on finding good homes for them.😟

I absolutely love this shelter, the animals are very well taken care of, the place is clean, and the staff is super nice. The one star reviews are absolutely bogus, as long as you treat the staff like human beings, you will be treated the same. Not only are they not a no kill shelter, they are also the cheapest. Just remember that these are people who work for very little money and work twice as hard as other people, so please be kind.

I drove up from Rapid. As soon as the guy behind the desk heard I've got chickens, he told me he wouldn't allow me to adopt. He never let me explain the chickens are cooped in the yard, and that any animal I adopted would only have exposure via the coop fence.With so many dogs going homeless, its insane to refuse to adopt based on some one having farm animals. When you hold out to find the 100% ideal (in your opinion)home for each animal, you really aren't helping the animal at all. Some times less that perfect is actually the perfect match.

We've gotten two wonderful members of the family here. The animals here are well taken care of and there is a wonderful staff of caring volunteers. These people not only take care of the animals but those who adopt the animals as well.

These are truly awful people running this humane society... My friend's kitten escaped recently and it was returned to the shelter the day it went missing. These people waited an entire week to notify the owner that they would not be returning the kitten. When I called to see why she was not able to get her kitten back and why it took an entire week to notify the owner of the kitten return, the lady working the phone hung up on me. These people are on a power trip! They are a no-kill shelter, so I recommend rescuing your next pet from another shelter. Unless you're confident your pet will never get outside, do not use this shelter or your pet will not be returned!

Well run and clean...We bring blankets and old cushions for the animals to sleep on. We adopted Grandpa Jack...a very old Shepherd who soon died but had a nice home at the end of his life.

My dog had ALOT Of extra toys, so we took probably 50-75 toys to the shelter. So other puppies could have Christmas toys.
