Very great options of food and usually not too busy, also the baked goods are delicious and have a varied assortment to choose from. The toiletries were also very quality for the price and easy to find with my limited comprehension. Staff are always nice too. I very much recommend coming here, especially if you are anywhere nearby the store.

This Safeway has really gone downhill the last year or more. If you don't shop the deli or bakery at just the right time, everything is picked over and sold out with no re-stocking. The produce used to be super and now it's dismal. Went a couple of days ago to buy ground beef and left empty-handed. Only a few packages on shelf of varied quality and poorly packaged. The floor along the meat department was sticky with partially dried blood and who knows what else all over. Made me gag - disgusting! Short of the pharmacy when needed, that was my last time in this Safeway.

Very nice store. The cashier was super friendly. Even though I am away from home I felt like I was in my home town grocery store. Very clean and well stocked.

Nice place plenty of parking…deli states open till 9 on sundays which isnt the case was there at 8:30 deli closed some of the isles had stock that needed to be put up and to back out if isles for others to come thru but has good sales and nice store

Today I watched an old woman (Del maybe) that works the check out and a manager embarrassed a young mom that used wic to pay for her groceries. They called her out for a long receipt unnecessarily. No one should have to go through, shame on you spearfish Safeway!

Today was the first time I have been in your store in Spearfish. I am new to the area therefore new to your store. I was so humiliated at the checkout. The checker (Tami) seemed mad because I didn't know how things worked and said I have to tell her what is a "digital coupon. She can't be ecpected tk know them all.Very hateful person.

The restrooms are almost always dirty and smell of urine. Today they were absolutely disgusting. I really hope the staff isn't using them while working and handling food. The one I used had fecies on the toilet seat, smelled strongly of urine and the only toilet paper was sitting on the urine soaked floor. My wife and daughter used the other restroom which also had fecies on the seat, smelled strongly of urine and the only toilet paper was on the changing table and had blood on it.Products are commonly in the wrong place so you are not able to tell prices without checking PLU #s and finding where it should have been if there even is a labeled spot for it.On a positive note there is a young man named Brandon who is an exemplary employee. He hustled and has excellent customer service skills. If he's not a manager he should be.

I used to love the Spearfish Safeway. I must admit that I hadn't been there in about 6 months. The other day when my husband and I were there we were so disappointed at the produce section AND of the overall store. There was only 1 register open with quite a long line! The produce was horribly outdated, wilted and way over ripe. You could have put a free sign on the cantaloupe and the watermelons and we still wouldn't have grabbed one. I had to use the restroom and it was dirty and smelled terrible! Sadly it will be a very long time before I use that Safeway store in Spearfish.

Nice grocery store with a wide selection of produce, meats, baked goods and a decent selection of gluten free foods. Easy to find and to get in and out of when on vacation from out of town.

At one time this location was the best thing in town, sadly not any more.Under the current management the bakery & produce sections have deteriorated, they're a shadow of what they once were.Ask for a fruit plate, and the response is we have nobody to make them.The bakery once had the best Danish pastry, they're now these pre-packaged soggy mess. The only positive is the meat counter guys are great.days old.A

Always great service, fresh produce, wonderful meat department. Lots of free stuff and extra savings via their J4U app. Makes it cheaper than shopping at other stores. Also, if they are out of any item, either sale or free, they always allow me to subtitute a similar product! Only place in town I shop for my groceries.*Update...still short on cashiers...but worth the wait. Produce department still the most stocked and freshest in town. And their French/Italian/sour dough breads are made fresh daily....not pre frozen and baked...but made from scratch. Just FYI.*Update 2023...Eggs have gone up. But still cheaper than most states. And if you use the J4U app and buy regular...you get them even cheaper. I'm averaging 2.49 for a dozen white large. Sometimes as low as 1.79 a dozen. Yes...there's a limit. But worth it.No one ever available at customer service. Usually a 30 minute wait there.Wish they had more cashiers running checkout. I don't mind the self checkout, but.....now that is backed up as well. Of course..Wally World is no different.I still use Safeway as my store of choice. Meat department is excellent and very friendly. Will cut meat upon sale. Produce department is still the greatest. Fresh veggies and fruits ALWAYS! By far better than Walmart and Lueders produce. And you can buy in bulk for both regular and organic.I do wish they'd get more fresh beets in. Every time I go there, they don't have any. They have rainbow beets, but ot regular. I'm probably shopping on the wrong day....Otherwise, a great store.

We ordered fried chicken, sides and dessert for our wedding rehearsal dinner. Online ordering was a breeze. But when we tried to pay for in advance so someone else could pick up there was a small hiccup of confusion which turned out to be about an hour of employees trying to figure out how to take care of. Thankfully they redeemed themselves when the food was ready on time and everything tasted great!

Always been quite fond of this particular grocery store. One the veggies are fresh, I love apples and oranges. The variety of breads and the Deli outstanding. Soup, sandwich, salad and dessert absolutely fantastic. Try the fried chicken, great recepie. All in all a very happy and satisfied individual I am. Service outstanding and informative. The atmosphere busy but extremely calm.

I really appreciate the lengths to which the company is going to make the store as safe as possible for customers & employees. All employees are wearing masks & they are encouraging social distancing measures. A very friendly female employee greeted me at the self-checkout today. It was as pleasant an experience as one can have during this difficult time, I believe.

I was shopping for a handicap friend when I had to go to service desk for tobacco products, Misty the customer service employee was the rudest woman I have dealt with in long time. I had 3 cans of tea , donuts , multiple items and when I asked her for a bag to put items in she stated I don't have any and walked away. I had to go to a register myself to get a bag and bag items myself. With an attitude like hers customer service is definitely not for her!

I have to say I've always just loved Safeway I don't get there very often because I live too far away but when I go there I especially enjoy their bakery their breads.. very good jalapeno cheddar breads and so many others just an awesome bakery I Love You Safeway for your bakeryThey have the best checkers I had the friendliest lady today she was great hope she has an awesome dayAnother awesome visit at Safeway!!Loving the Italian BreadStill loving Safeway Bakery!!

Limited items usually priced higher than Walmart with less variety and checking out is a living nightmare compared to the walmart machines. They make it look like their loyalty card saves you so much but its clearly seen in the mark up of each item

Bakery is never stocked throughout the day or replenished in the evening. Sushi department is very rude at this location. Restrooms aren't usually stocked or cleaned at night, thats when most of us can go do our shopping. Store is pretty small and almost always out of stock every time. I still love Safeway and cashiers, and stockers are very nice.

Bakery eclairs need some serious work. Custard inside was all dry and gross. Never had this issue at other Safeways 😢

Bathroom is always dirty and has smell bad for months and there are alot of broken eggs in the packages. Regularly find items in the wrong spots, prices are different at the register than the shelf, and month pass expiration date bacon. Today I found 8 broken eggs in the 3 18 packs I grabbed and an employee yelled at me for inspecting them, like what am I supposed to do throw away $4 in eggs a week!

Better quality control should be enforced. I went in to buy sushi for lunch and when I got to work, opened it to eat, I noticed there was a dead fly on top of one of the rolls. Very disappointed and disgusted. I would add photos if this review aloud me to do so. Won’t get sushi from there ever again.
