Great store for supplies, and has a nice selection of small critters and fish. Last time I was there, they had some beautiful puppies running around the store to pet. Many times these are available to be adopted.

Walked in to grab some dog treats. Wandered past this horrific little scene of dead fish in tiny cups left to rot on the shelf.In the meantime, some construction was being done in the back next to the live pets. Beating holes in the wall and hammering away while puppies cowered in their cages; some literally crawling over top of each other in fear. Bunnies, which are creatures that can actually be scared to death due to the way their heart functions were a few feet from the wall they were slamming on. Pet rats leapt around the cage trying to get away from the sound.

Angie has been our favorite groomer for over a decade. We are so thankful for her abilities and simply request their regular cut when we go in, and she does her magic! We added a poodle to our dog crew, and she just gave him his first poodle cut. He turned out adorable! The dogs enjoy her and we do as well!

Have a full functioning freshwater fish tank. All levels good. With plenty of other freshwater fish. Bought three on Monday. It's Wednesday and two are dead. One we did want, the guy said oh, he has yuck. I've been off for the last few days. I should treat them before you buy them. He didn't say that about the others. But now two of three are dead. And they weren't $2 goldfish either.....

If I could give this place negative stars I would. To start off with the guy who was working on 5/19/23 around 2pm needs to have a serious conversation with the owner about attentiveness and customer service. My wife and I walked in and he was sitting behind the counter with his ear buds in just staring down at his phone. He Never greeted us, he never even looked up. In fact he was In the same exact spot when we left. He never moved a single inch. Secondly the aquarium section is a wreck! I swear there were more dead fish in those tanks than there were live. I understand that there will be losses when running a shop like that, but my god remove the dead. There are also no lids on any of the tanks. I watched a koi jump out of the tank on the top rack right onto the floor, and since the man behind the counter couldn't be bothered to even look up from his phone guess who had to pick the fish up and put it back in the tank, ME! The puppies, don't even get me started on the puppies. I mainly went there to check out the aquarium section and it is the absolute worst place i have ever been to for fish and supplies. This was at the Minnesota ave location. I dont ever remember the 49th st location being this bad. This place is an absolute joke of a pet store. How it has such a good rating is beyond me. This was my first and last experience with this store. You honestly should not have any kind of live stock in this building its depressing and they sure don't seem to be taken care of very well. I really hope it was a fluke and that your other employees do better.

Not much customer service. Asked about a price on a puppy and the employee wasn't sure and thru a price out..which was way over priced. I was heart broken to leave the poor pup but ya prob won't go back. Bad vibes from there!!

Tonight was ridiculous.we came in for dewormer, catfood, dry dog food(which you were out of, and there wasn't anyone to ask if you had more) and mice for our snake. I waited at the counter for 10 minutes and no one was around to help us. As soon as my wife and I walked in the employees walked away and disappeared. There was no one watching the counter. Anyone could have grab whatever they wanted and walked out. Wont be coming here ever again. I will gladly pay more somewhere else to avoid this kind of experience.

Was greeted right away by a very friendly gentleman. Out of curiosity I tested his knowledge and asked him about a rabbit and what breed it was. He was very knowledgeable and knew right away that it was a mix breed :). I really appreciate that the small animals are in more secure habitats and not open glass tanks I think this just prevents them picking up any sicknesses from being handled. Great selection on oxbow products! Wide range of dog products as well love the selection of dog food and toys!

Had friendly staff in there when I went in today and was able go help me with the questions I had for what I am specifically doing in regards to having mice and was able to provide me with the best of supplies that met the need in the picture!

I went to the new store on S. Minnesota Ave. Great looking place and very clean. All the fish tanks and animal cages were also well cared for. The tanks are still cycling so they are limited in the types of aquatic creatures they can carry. I'm sure that'll change in time. One of the owners waited on me and was very helpful in catching fish for me and answering my questions. I think with time and the support of the local community it will grow just as successful as it's parent store on 49th street.
