Some of the workers here really need to be talked to about their customer service skills. Went during the work week around mid day and every employee I had an interaction with just seemed like they didn't want to be there. The woman at the bakery literally made me feel I was inconveniencing her by asking for some pastries, then gave me more attitude when asked if I could get a sticker to close the box. Then, at checkout, they needed someone over 21 to clear a wine purchase and even getting a supervisor or anyone else took forever since people were more interested in private convos. The service at this location (26th and Sycamore) is getting worse every week..

Very clean and very family friendly. Never have to worry about finding things here they will take care of you right away and show you where your items are and order more if they're out. The gentleman even told me how long it would be before it would be In stock. 10 👍 HyVee great job!

I ordered a gender reveal cake yesterday and the instructions were as easy as they can be. All white cake outside, inside is blue or pink based on the gender, and when the employee asked me what i want on top to say i told her and she wrote it down, i saw it written down when she gave me the paper to wrote down my name and phone number. Called earlier this morning to see if i can change the time for pick up and the lady was super nice and said it wont be a problem! Then two hours later i got a call from the bakery askng for more info since it wasnt really clear on the paper so i explained it again and the person was super nice and said they got it. Went to pick it up today and it was completely different cake on the outside. They have added colorful sprinkles and it was saying something completely different than what i asked for (more specifically it was a cut out picture saying boy or girl) not even close to what i asked for. When i asked the employee who gave me the cake, why the top is different than what i ordered she couldnt really tell me anything and from the way she was responding it seemed like i was out of line to bother her, let me add that i was very nice when i was asking her, then i just okay thank you and went to pay. At the register i saw a manager and decided to tell him what happened and he offered a discount.I never write reviews but this time was absolutely horrible experience. I mean I explained to two people how i want a plain cake outside , and just a small saying like baby 2024? How and why did they think it was ok to do something completely different than what I ordered?! Very disappointing, was really looking forward to a nice looking cake. Of course, it was important what was inside.

Always great to go to my local hyvee. I get what I want and need. I recently went to get some strawberry, chocolate covered with a swirl, and a Charcuterie Board made by the famous Tony at 26th and sycamore, it was worth penny to talk things over with the professionals. Thank you Tony and hyvee for making a great party. Here's some pics to confirm.

Had the best grocery experience I’ve ever had at Hyvee. The kindest sales associate, Carolyn, helped me extensively and practically toured me around the store. She was extremely helpful, patient, and knowledgeable. Apparently she has been at this location for 15 years! Thanks for quality products and service, Hyvee!

The prices are high. It's a great store with great staff. I'll shop here in a pinch, but I usually shop for groceries elsewhere and save money.

So Peter is an amazing manager. Takes care of customers. If it weren’t for him this store would be getting a 1 star for the poor manager skills of Ella. The merchandisers left a coupon up from a previous week and she didn’t even see either the dates were from last week and told me that I needed a coupon for these paper towels went onto the Hy-Vee app, There’s no coupon I even showed her that and she said well you can have these at 9:49 or these ones at 17.99 or nothing so I went out to my car And I called and I asked for a different manager Peter got on the phone and he took care of me. I went back inside and I got my paper towels. It is not our fault if the merchandisers keep something up that was supposed to be removed and the fact that she didn’t even look at the dates and was all snooty is wrong. She should of said I’ll fix the price and fix the issue. Peter thank you for taking the time to help. I’m glad we got this handled and saw the issue to correct it before it happened to more ppl. Yes in some cases the customer can be wrong but in this case I was not and she should if handled it way differently. I worked in customer service for over ten years and would never treat a customer how she did. Again Peter awesome caring manager. We’ll trained and definitely will go back bc of him. Thank you.

This grocery store is nice and neat and stocked with products. The fruit and vegetables are very fresh. Loved the worker Mrs. Shirley qshe was very nice and can tell she loved her job. So thank you for making me feel welcomed!!!!

The staff at this store is just so sweet and helpful! This gentleman swept over and helped this woman who had dropped her cane, then helped her load groceries into her car. He’s always helpful and gracious when I stop at this location.The selection is great and if you can’t find something there’s always a couple of associated nearby to help direct you.

Very clean store. I was visiting in the neighborhood for a weekend and I was thoroughly impressed. Friendly staff, checkout was a breeze and all the meat, produce, bakery and fresh fish offerings were extremely fresh.

I was just into the Hy-Vee gas station on 26th and Sycamore bought a few things also crispy chicken sandwich I got to my truck and it was still frozen when I brought it back in the person that sold it to me asked me if I had the receipt this is poor judgment by the workers

So I just went there to pick up a couple things to bring to my friend's to eat with some grilled food they were making and the Hy-Vee Spring Pasta Salad was expired after I got it home I noticed it. But unfortunately that was after I brought it over to my friends place to eat with some grilled food. Not at all happy about that especially since it was expired by over a week! Thankfully none of us got sick from it but I had to throw the rest of it away and with that stuff being so expensive I really wasn't happy about that at all! I had planned to eat that throughout the rest of the week!

Won’t sell liquor to me and my wife (who are 27 and 25) because she has an Iowa license that’s vertical instead of horizontal. That’s fine if they refuse but they also lied claiming it was “state law” that they can’t sell to people with vertical licenses which is just false. I have gone alone and not been ID’d multiple times but when I’m with my wife they always refuse us… I’ve watched them sell to women who look like they could be under 21 and not ID them just because they have kids… I think they are prejudice liars who misrepresent the law and you should take your business elsewhere

The employees are always great. Rushing around and super helpful. One of the best employee/customer experiences in town. Prices are ridiculous though. The produce is hands down the worst in town, often a topic of conversation amongst friends. We’ll buy most things at Hyvee but never the produce. Except now with the prices being what they are, we often look for alternate options first. Finally, the absolute worst thing about Hy-Vee is their self checkout. Never have a problem at other locations, but Hyvee’s self checkout freeze constantly and throw errors over every little thing. It’s so frustrating when locations are understaffed. What is the point of having 10 self checkouts and only having 1 open?!!

I have used Hy-Vee on Sycamore's catering 3 different times for a 300 plus company and every time they have been fabulous. Paula, the department manager, is amazing, she made scheduling and even rescheduling (because of weather) extremely easy. The food was delightful and tasty. I highly recommend Paula and her crew for all of your catering needs.

The store on Sycamore is my go-to grocery. I've upped this review to 5 stars. The customer service in the last year was just ok. Lately, I've noticed an improvement. I just had a lovely conversation with a helpful young woman named Jasmine and before her, a great experience with two young men as I checked out. When you've had a long day at work, have to stop at the store when all you want to do is go home and put your feet up, it makes a huge difference when people go out of your way to make you feel good about a trip to the store. Keep up the great customer service. It really does make a difference.
