Great owner and wonderful experience dropping off my friends dogs for boarding. They have a ton of space and seem to be really good with dogs. Would reccomend to anyone looking for a loving and caring place to take care of their dogs while away!

Our dog had cuts on its face and we weren’t notified about any issues that he had gotten into a scuffle or had a mishap. We were also charged an entire extra day for picking up past 1 PM and weren’t notified of the policy until the card was already in the reader. Kennels were hot and humid and dogs were expected to poop on concrete. I sent an exact amount of dog food needed to feed them for the time they were there and we were given excess food. Instructions not followed.Will not be returning.

Do not take your dogs here. Dropped my dog off on Wednesday and picked her up on Monday and when she came out her tail was bandaged with duct tape!!!! They never called me to tell me my dogs tail had been broke or give her proper care! Stay far away from here if you love your dog.

Owner was super nice! My mom had surgery and needed a place for her dogs to stay while in the hospital. They took them right away within the hour I had called and they keep them there until they could be picked up! Super easy process and they were very understanding of my mom’s situation! We just pay after we pick them up!

The kennel is fine but don’t ever ask for grooming. Paid and left a 50% tip. Once I saw my dog I was mortified. My corgi was 100x dirtier than I took him there. I had asked for bath, brushing and de-shedding. None of that was done. I had to ask for a brush just to tame the craziness before I put my dirty dog in the car. I was disgusted. His nails weren’t even clipped and I had asked for that too. This is not right. I was in tears at the kind of service I was provided with.

Excellent care for our dog while we took a 10 day trip. He was bathed, trimmed nails and happy from all the play time with staff and other friendly dogs. Thank you Happy Dog for a great vacation for everyone!

We used Happy Dog Kennels this weekend. She was dropped off with about 6 cups of food and returned with more than half gone... she's 6 pounds and eats maybe a half of cup a day on a free-feed schedule. She was there for 17 hours. Cried the entire way home and had serious constipation followed by diarrhea. She is grass trained and was expected to just "go" on a concrete slab connected to her kennel outside.. which she didn't. We requested she be taken out on the grass to accommodate but that clearly didn't happen in the 17 hours she was there. I'll never use them again. Terrible place. She smelled horrible upon leaving and even a bath couldn't get the smell out yet. I will have to bathe her again tonight. ---- Update: Upon asking for further recommendations for a different boarding center on Facebook, 3 other people commented that their dog had a bad experience at Happy Dog Kennels: "would cower and pee in the corner when the owner tried to pet their dog", "our poor dogs were acting strange when we picked them up too", "had a bad experience with happy dog in the past".

Was happy to find a place to take my pups on a short notice. When I walked into the office it was dark, no one was there even though they were open. When someone finally came I was less than impressed, if I hadn't needed someone to care for my dogs I wouldn't have left them.When we picked them up all of their belongings had feces on it, including the food container . The dogs smelled so bad I had to bathe them at home.

I was reluctant about leaving my dog on my trips... but Happy Dog Kennels really works with you and your pet.The staff is amazing, you can tell that they really care for the animals. My dog has also learned to be more social with their help.

The worst kennel I have ever seen. Dropped our Chihuahua off there and it seemed like a nice place. She was there for 6 days and when we got her back she was completely petrified. Her blankets were soaked in her ore, the same blankets she was laying on all week. When we picked her up the guy brought her out in her cage (which is just big enough for her to lay down in) with her blankets toys and Tupperware of food all jammed in there with her. She was shaking because she was so cold and lost over 2 pounds while she was there. NEVER bring your dog here for any reason.

The owners and staff at Happy Dog Kennels go above and beyond to provide a safe, clean, and loving environment for your pets. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for pet boarding in the Sioux Falls area. I would give 10 stars if it was possible! Thank you guys for all you do!!

DO NOT BRING your family pet to this kennel! Unless you'd like to have to your dogs tail AMPUTATED due to animal cruelty, during your family pets visit, this establishment should NO LONGER be able to operate. Unacceptable!! Run far, far away.
