The people who work here are amazing! My girls always come out looking SO beautiful. Today in particular I went in and my golden doodle had mats (I knew about them and have been trying to get them out for over two weeks when I found them while brushing her.) For this reason I was dreading taking her in, but I let them know about it, and was relieved when I picked her up because they were able to get them out. They charged a very fair demat fee and I am VERY grateful that the groomer was able to remove them!

Have always loved the experience of taking my dog there! They do an amazing job, and he always comes home cute, clean and happy. I highly recommend. Great groomers and such a clean facility!

Never have I felt the need to post a review regarding a business, but Dirty Dog Spa is one I would not recommend.After giving extremely specific details regarding the length I wanted my dog to be cut, the groomer decided to proceed with an extremely “buzzed” style. Just in time for winter.I did not receive a call to notify me it would be much shorter than expected if they continued. The front desk employee stated, “It is much shorter than what you had asked for,” upon my arrival. This should have been a red flag. Of course, I paid prior to even seeing what had been done - apparently they stated this is their protocol. After expressing my frustration, they apologized. The front desk employee also said she should have called me before the groomer proceeded. I was told someone would contact me by the end of the day.I did receive a call. I was refunded $10 for a $130 service - $10 of the total was for a deshedding treatment that he most likely didn’t need.Dirty Dog Spa is unprofessional. On the bright side, my dog will be styling a new Christmas sweater.

Edited to add: my dog had his first groom today since this awful experience. We found someone to come to our home who had experience with elderly dogs and has gone through training. She made our dog feel so comfortable that he fell asleep while she was grooming him. Please use extreme caution when choosing your groomer. I am still sick thinking about what my dog went through and I only wish I would have found this new groomer sooner!!!I have been bringing my dog to the same person since he was a puppy and I thought there would be more compassion for him as he aged.I was informed AFTER his appointment that I was being charged a handling fee ($30?!?) and that he was muzzled. Absolutely SICK to my stomach all day since finding out this information. I can’t even fathom how this is okay and how I was not contacted during the appointment to let me know and ask how I would like to proceed.My 14 year old dog has not been himself since coming home today and is walking weird. I don’t know what happened today but I know it’s not good.Their staff needs to take training on caring for senior dogs or just not take them on if they can’t handle it.They also need to remember that they are in this business to care for animals, not to get as much money as possible in as little time as possible. Everything feels so transactional anymore. I have never felt so upset as I did after picking my sweet old man up today. Luckily he has a family who cares deeply for him and he got extra spoiled today but I can’t shake this pit I’ve had in my stomach all day. I can’t imagine what he went through today.I am finding someone who has deep care and understanding for dogs as they age.

Highly, highly, highly recommend Katie at Dirty Dog. My husband and I found her when searching for a groomer for a senior Pomeranian we had rescued, and she went on to also groom our current pom, Cookie, after our rescue Pomeranian passed away. I wouldn't trust anyone else in Sioux Falls. Cookie saw Katie every 4-5 weeks, and in between appointments she could get pretty trashy (she's a tomboy 😂). Katie would beautifully brush out her out and perfectly groom her each time, and she would come back to us looking just like she belonged in the show ring. More importantly, Cookie LOVED Katie. Unfortunately we moved to a new state and really miss taking her to Katie and Dirty Dog. ❤️

Took my eight-year-old German Shepherd there for a bath and deshedding, did a nice job. He looks and smells good. Definitely would use them again even though I'm from out of town.

9/6/23Our experience hasn't changed. The lady with whom I originally spoke, whose name I unfortunately can't remember, was patient as I had "switchover" learning & preferences. She hasn't been defensive when I've brought concerns to her attention. I like I tell her what's going on when I drop him off, and she tells me how he did when I pick him up.*****This was our first visit. We were losing our groomer after nearly five years, and our old fellow has had good and bad experiences in the past. His last groomer loved him and talked to him when he was vocal. I warned the young lady that answered the phone and made the appointment and she laughed.I waited around a little while, but the lady said he was settling in. While I was shopping their items, I remembered I had given him a pain pill and needed to tell the groomers. I heard what I thought was my dog screaming his head off. The lady checked on my fellow, and after being told it was another vocal dog they are used to, I left and waited for the text telling me he was done.Our little fellow has one ear higher than the other, and only one groomer has ever been able to trim them on the ends to make the ears appear even. One of the ladies said they recommend "teddy bear" ears so people see the ears as uneven on the head. My husband prefers it; I think he now looks like ET or a Gremlin. She said they also recommend rounded paws for the older dogs. We were delighted with this experience, and our sweet little guy is handsome.

These people have absolutely no patience or take any time to get to know your pet. Our dog is usually quite cooperative with people. Not a good use of time or money!!!

We have a great groomer in Amanda! Was nervous at first, probably close to 2 years ago, because she was new to the salon but that was why she had openings when no one else so we took a chance. Couldn't be happier that we did! She is so great with our furbaby & goes above & beyond in that she treats him like he is one of her family & I never worry if he will be taken care of with dirty dog spa. & we love the selection of different & challenging toys, seems to rotate a lot more then the big corporate stores do.

I have 6 pups that have been going to this location for 5 years. I missed my appointment this morning. I usually get a reminder message and I didn't, and I woke up at 4am to a litter of unexpected puppies being born. Amanda called and I apologized and rescheduled and she was very nice. I get a call late this afternoon from the owner saying their policy was you pay full price for missed appointments or never come back. I tried explaining that emergencies come up, they have a wait list and that I have come with 10 minutes notice when I have been on it so I'm sure my spot could have been filled. I tip well, I didn't argue when I was charged 25.00 extra for a flea bath without my permission and never ever had seen a flea here in Sioux Falls. I was told I'm not going to argue, this is how it is, have a good night and hung up on, along with being accused of missing appointments before, actually the word habitually was used. I have never missed a Vet appointment, a Dr.'s appointment or my own hair appointment. So having a business of my own I know the importance of treating your clients well. I was treated not only disrespectfully but I was talked down to with a condescending tone and attitude I wouldn't use with anyone. So beware if you schedule an appointment and get unexpectedly sick, have car trouble, have a car accident, bad weather, an act of God or any other emergency, you will be charged full price for not giving the appropriate 24 hour cancellation notice or banned forever.

So this came recommended from a friend. We set up an appointment with Amanda she was amazing for our new puppy. The staff we dealt with from on the phone to checking in and out were also very friendly and super helpful and kind. My puppy came home happy and looked amazing. You can’t go wrong with this great place.

Left my big bear lbd and came back to a beautiful well trimmed, glossy haired majestic beast. Needed him to be groomed for photos for Christmas and I am sure everyone will be looking at him. Can't say enough how everything was so perfect. He wasn't even nervous when I brought him in the salon and walked around comfortably like he had been there before. Usually he is a nervous wreck when he goes to new places. That was not the case here. I will be back.

Katie is wonderful. Gracie & Lucy love her and I always have a great experience when we visit. They listen to you and find out your pet's needs and are very accommodating. Wouldn't take my dogs anywhere else in Sioux Falls!

DDS has provided a consistent and quality service for our Cockapoo Max the last 5 years. The team helped us determine a good schedule and grooming package for our pup. The care we’ve seen from DDS is unmatched. Highly suggest this place to anyone needing grooming in the area.

This place is spectacular! My Lhasa Apso has always been terrified of going to the groomers. But DDS is so kind and patient with her. They do a great job to make the pups and owners feel as comfortable as possible. Plus, they do such good work! My dog looks perfect every time. Highly highly recommend!

I would not take my pup anywhere else! The staff truly love and care for each and every pup like they were their own! I personally go to Katie and she has been my groomer for a little over 5 years. I have a very sliding pup and when she takes her from me and holds her I know she is safe. I love this place and I know you all will too!

We LOVE dirty dog spa! We’ve been getting our mini golden doodle groomed here for 2 years now. They always groom him just how we like. And the first couple of grooms they had no problem making changes if there was something we wanted different when we picked him up! And now they have it down and know exactly how we want it! Would recommend to everyone!

We take our dog here every 6 weeks for a haircut and a nail. They're always very attentive to what we ask for and do a great job every time he goes in. The workers there are very skilled and know what they're doing with many different breeds of dogs. They also have a lot of food and other toys available for sale as well. I would definitely recommend bringing your dog here to get pampered every once in awhile.

Update: I decided to give Dirty Dig spa another try because it does have some really good reviews. This time they did an excellent job of addressing my past complaint and my dog came back looking fabulous. The hair cut was nice and even and his nails were trimmed up quite nicely. I appreciate the attention to detail and willingness to make things right.

Expensive but they are good at what they do! $81 w/tip for my 8lbs dog to get groomed, nail trim and teeth brush I believe, sure hope so for the $
