Always dirty. Produce is horrible. Selection is always low. Most employess are rude (not Mary, she is amazing). Coinstar is always out of order. Never anyone at customer service desk. Likely the worst of this chain I have ever seen in my entire life.

I went in to buy some drinks and I had cash and card to pay with but I recently had gotten a new card so I forgot the passcode. I paid for most of it with cash and after trying my pin and a worker offered to pay and let me know to pay it forward. She was a nice and helpful lady, she had Mickey Mouse ears on and a mask. She is an amazing worker and made my visit pleasant, I am so grateful for this women especially it being on thanksgiving.

Really gross. Most of the produce was rotten or rotting. Tons of freezer burn covering every item in the freezer, some of which were expired. Trash on shelves that nobody had the time/care to clean. I shouldn’t have to check the expiration dates of everything I’m buying because I’m worried it could be a month out of date.Edit: We purchased sliced Turkey and it was coated in some yellow slime in the middle. Seriously? Check your inventory.

Traveling through and wanted to grab some food to cook at the hotel. The fresh veggies didn’t look very fresh. Not much of a selection on steaks. Would not be my everyday grocery store if lived locally.

Aside from the prices, I really like Safeway...it's just ridiculous that they charge $6 for a sandwich and $5 for a breakfast burrito. I do the bulk of my shopping at Walmart because it's cheaper to do it there. If Safeway were cheaper to shop at, then you'd not only get people to buy there more, but you'd be the only place I shop at. Other than that, the only thing I don't like is how much you have in stocks. I KNOW you sell old-fashioned glazed doughnuts, but it took a LONG time before you had aby in Pollock for me to buy. And that's a problem, since they're the only kind of doughnuts I like. Then there's the ramen quantity. There were times I went to stock up on it, and you were either completely out or didn't have as many as I wanted to get...and it was the same with your sandwiches. Fix those 2 things, and I'd be HAPPY to shop solely at your store instead of doing the bulk of my shopping elsewhere.

Store has flowers in containers marked at one price and they ring up more expensive and when mentioning this to employees they are not willing to match the price they are listed at.

Given that Rapid City is growing by leaps and bounds, it's amazing that the grocery stores in this town (Safeway foremost) are stuck in the 1990s. Safeway suffers from narrow aisles, poor selection, always understaffed. Stopped in today to pick up a few things - took about 10 minutes. However, when it was clear that it would take 30 minutes to check out, I booked. If there are any grocery entrepreneurs out there, please get RC the world-class grocery store it deserves - it's 2021 for God's sake.

I came here to get shredded chicken as stated on the reict. I would of expected meat and a little bit of fat but the bones caught me by surprise. I could of bought a hot chicken for $5 and peeled it myself. The price was fair for the work put in stripping the chicken but the bones were a unsuspecting factor in buying the product.

Never any fried chicken ready. 3 times in the past week and a half I’ve been in to buy chicken. None the man always says . When I get time to bread and drop some I will in a couple of hours. He’s just standing back there so what’s the problem?

Stopped into this store before my dads doctors appointment to grab some donuts for my brother and I, all I can say is I spent 35 years with Albertsons/Safeway before retiring and this store has the best donuts I have ever had. Being from another state I have never had this good of donuts, hats off to your bakery, I'm sure your store is like all other stores as far as pre made donuts that are just put in the oven and baked, but these donuts remind me of the past where each style was made by hand.

Very displeased with the service as of late. Everything I come in, I am overbearingly being overshadowed by a lady named Brenda and I've tried to let it go but she's gotten more abrasive about the behavior. I've tried to excuse her kindly and reassure her I can use self check and that's why I have chosen it. Tonight I stood in line and she wasn't in self check but her own lane and still she took over the survey filled all the info herself and didn't let me use my phone number. I'm highly debating on changing locations which is ridiculous since this is 2 minutes from my house.

This Safeway is extremely disorganized and had an extremely unprofessional worker today. I was at self check out today and accidentally scanned an item that wouldn’t work for the coupon I had and the older lady working came over and had to deleted the item and I asked her to delete the milk and she deleted the whole transaction and then said I told her to delete everything, not just the milk. Why would I say that? Since she deleted everything, we had to rescan it all and the coupons we had for the items didn’t work so she had to come back over and was very frustrated and was working on the screen and discussing to another customer to our left how if her son didn’t die she wouldn’t have to be working and that she didn’t sign up to deal with customers like us. Sadly, we ended up walking out of there and tried to call the store to get a hold of the manager but couldn’t. Really thought this was extremely unprofessional and a horrible experience.

I live and work closeby so I like to stop at this store on my home from work. Always a great experience, friendly workers, good atmosphere. the only thing I can really give a complaint about is sometimes when I come in, there’s like no product on the shelves and all the pallets are layed out everywhere. But other than that I really like your store and have every intention to keep shopping!

This store is dark lit, 1980's kind of smell, is under staffed in which is reflected by all the employees who're so crabby all the time, the bakery is expensive but delicious, the hot deli has the normal premade banquet quick meal type of menu-we only get the gizzards-and that is ONLY if we call first, the cashier's don't give back coin change & act like every customer is a hassle with the exception of one lady, Mary. Throughout all the years I shop at Mt Rushmore Road Safeway, MARY - a very polite, kind, friendly, knowledgeable, hard working woman is always helpful and has a warm smile. Mary is always the only and good smile I am gifted when I arrive and leave. I go to this store out of habit and they have some items that are not available any where else in town. This store is well known locally for not being very welcoming to Native Americans. Regardless, I shop at this store because it is where I grew up shopping at.

Road construction hurt mount Rushmore Rd but it's coming back fast. Lot of sale tax$$$ on mount Rushmore Rd isn't coming back fast . THEM and everyone else. IT'S COMING BACK FAST EXT 56 OPENED UP WE WOULD ALL BE BACK TO NORMAL THANK FOR EVER ONE THAT HELPED.

I used this pharmacy a few times before and really liked the pharmacy techs working at this location. My last visit the line was insanely long, the pharmacy tech I had was rude. Upon leaving I found a man trying to break into my car!My daughter & I both feared for our safety as he wouldn't get away from us. Had to call the police. I will definitely be moving my prescription to another location and never returning to this location.

Absolutely horrible experience the general manager I reached after calling 4 times is the only reason it has two stars. When someone orders a zero sugar soda don’t substitute regular soda and be annoyed when they complain after driving 20 minutes out of their way to fix your mistake

Went shopping tonight at the southside safeway while shopping I realized I had seen mice run across the store I’m not too sure why the west side safe way is better then the southside location but something needs to be done10/19/23Decided to give Safeway another try since the last time I was there I was unpleased with that being said, I bought a beef fajita mix while eating it. I noticed a bone and a long hair in the fajita when calling the store, they refused to do anything about it.

Very average, ho-hum Safeway store. It's been a long time since this store has been renovated, and it shows a lot of wear. Selection isn't very wide, and items tend to be out of stock far more often here than at the Safeway on the west (and more affluent) side of town. But staff are friendly and professional, and it's a quick walk away from my neighborhood.

I have been living in rapid city for 6 months for work. I’ve shopped at Safeway a handful of times for groceries because it’s the closest store to my apartment. I hate this chain grocery store. The items are always overpriced or out of stock. They make everything so complicated; from ads to app. The items you saw on sale will ring up full price 99% of the times; always a nice surprise! Purchased cherries advertised $3.99/lb with card; then got home realized paid $5.99/lb. Purchased deli meat on sale $9.99/lb but actually got charged for $11.99/lb. Pay attention or you will get overcharged every time. It’s ridiculous; oh yeah trying to claim the shopping reward (free items) using their stupid app will only get you to pay for all those items full price at checkout. This company should get sued for misleading buyers with their confusing price tactics! I can’t wait to leave this place next week!

Produce is always nice. Sale item prices are reasonable. The flowers by the front door are always beautiful. Great item to grab on the way by for someone special. They sell sushi that is pretty good.

The male cashier with the red hair and a beard needs a serious lesson in customer service. Didn't acknowledge or say anything to me as he was busy talking to the bagger. When the transaction was done he shoved the receipt at me without even looking at me or saying thank you. If he was my employee he wouldn't be for long.
