This motel sucks. People are very rude at the front desk. My friends room was nasty. People slamming door and running in the halls all night long. Sent a email to the GM and got nothing back. They need to get rid of the front desk lady she is very rude. We will never ever stay here again. If we could of got a total refund we would of went to a differnt motel. When they say check in is at 3:00 p.m that's a lie. They didn't have our rooms ready when we wanted to check in.

After ten plus hours on the road we arrived around 4.30 p.m. to check in. The front desk clerk, who also claims to be the manager, somehow managed to lock herself out of the system. She asked us to come back in 45 minutes, or we could informally check in immediately if we let her take a copy of our credit card. In this day and age of rampant identity theft, you have to be a special kind of stupid to think I'm leaving a copy of my credit card with you. We had an event to attend at 6, and I would have enjoyed to chance to relax and change after being on the road, but that didn't happen. Now I read the reviews about this place overlooking rooms, so I'm concerned we may not have a room when we return around 10. Right now I would not recommend this place to anyone. Run away and spend your money somewhere else where you can check in upon arrival and not run the risk of having your card compromised by someone who wants to make a copy of it. Any manager in their right mind should not ask a guest to leave a copy of their credit card.

DO NOT BOOK A ROOM HERE. After booking our room, we called to let them know we’d be checking in late. Woman on the phone said she’d leave a note. After driving 17 hours and arriving around midnight, we were informed that the hotel had overbooked and could not give us a room. We asked how this could be, as we had called to verify late check in. The attendant said he couldn’t find our number to inform us of the cancellation. He then read our email address back to us, which he had on file. I do not know why he chose not to email us if he lost our number. My Place Rapid City is a completely incompetent hotel and will leave travelers without a roof over their head with no warning.

Update about 48 hours after stay: Manager called us directly and apologized for our room situation. He refunded our stay. He also stated it should have been that way. He investigates anytime an issue like this arises.Staff tried to be responsive, but still would not recommend.Walked in room to a hairball on the trash can lid. Then reached for a folded towel after showering only to find it wet.Took towel to front desk and asked for help in the form of two clean and dry towels.Expressed our concerns about if the room had been cleaned. There was no room to move us to- a solution staff checked not our request.Staff offered to have beds stripped and changed. Stated it would take 10-20 minutes. He immediately asked staff to start our room, kind women came to room within 15 minutes. She changed beds and more- took about 35 minutes.After about an hour and half at 10 p.m. after 12 hours of driving today we finally had a place to sleep.Safety: Side door propped open everything we walked by. Front desk told us it doesn't have a key badge entry for safety. Would be safer with badge entry than propped.

Worst hotel stay I have ever had! Room sink was clogged the entire weekend, when asked for maintenance was told they were not present on the weekend.staff was following my female guest around the property and seemed to be intoxicated. All staff members that I encountered was very willing to let me know that they live at the property. There was a Walmart sack over the smoke detector. The worst part is that I was contacted by the GM after calling customer relations and was told I would receive a partial refund from my stay even went as far as sending me a fabricated "Pholio" still after a month and a half I have yet to receive any refund from the property. One of the very bad hotels that I have stayed in recent times..... though the behavior and helpfulness of staff was very good. That's just why I gave one star. It is an extended stay hotel which does not give u utensils although they have a kitchenette. They did not even give us a dishwasher liquid and scrub.... just a crazy place with no management run by staff. Their reservation system is wacky and first day they gave us a key to our room and when we went there we saw someone else staying there!! First time I have seen that. The staff said that we can get a discount because of our inconvenience which the management did not give. Oh and no room service if u stay for more than one day. Would request everyone to avoid staying unless u do for a day just to crash.

We stayed only one night with our small dogs. The rooms were clean and everyone we had dealings with was very friendly and helpful. The first room didn't have a remote to the TV and the workers couldn't get the TV to connect to the wifi and the garbage disposal wasn't working in the kitchen sink, so they swiched us to the room across the hallway. Hope was very helpful and friendly!All in all we were very happy with the room and the service.We liked that there was a full sized refrigerator and freezer with an ice maker, a two burner stove and a microwave. The room was big, plenty of moving space, so was the bathroom (we were in a handicap room, I don't know if the other rooms are that big)

Our experience was horrible. First off the hotel is full of crack heads and sketchy people. The hallways reeked like pot smoke. The second morning my 3 year old son and I were heading outside and this lady and guy high out of their minds came in and went to the laundry room of the hotel to I assume clean up his arm that was dripping blood. We had to ask more than once for clean towels and our shower was broke and they knew about it before hand but didn’t offer to discount us. All in all lots of drug activity and shady people . Highly recommend not taking your family there.

We travel non stop since we are hotshot drivers. We are always in motels this is our first stay at My Place! We absolutely love it! The front desk lady was amazing, quick check in and assured us a main floor room. On arrival it took her less the five minutes to check us in and once we was in our room I was again very impressed!Super clean and a kitchenette! There rates was the best we’ve seen in a very long time as well!I wish all motels would be this amazing and welcoming. We plan to make My Place our first choice from here forward.

Didn't have a room ready at 1500, as I sat and waited another couple walked in and got a room (I had to remind the lady at the front desk that I had been sitting there for 30 minutes). Didn't bring clean towels so I called the front desk and was told they were doing laundry and I'd have towels in 30 minutes. Three hours later I called the front desk, no answer. Went to the front desk and got my own towels. Rather than apologizing for the delay I get told nobody comes to the rooms until the 4th day...apparently even when they say they're bringing towels in 30 minutes. Cleaning lady asked how I was doing, I said, "I've been better." She says, "well that's good." Staff here are impolite and not because they mean to be, they're just stupid.

Need to change the name of the hotel because guests took the name too seriously letting the side door slam till 4am. If you have to stay here don't let them put you on the first floor by any side doors. As much traffic was constantly going in and out throughout the night you would think this place had 600 rooms. Definitely didn't get any sleep, I'll pass on staying here again. Room 100

I received a call from the front desk saying they overbooked the hotel. Because I reserved two rooms under the same credit card, they wanted us to stay in one room. Begrudgingly I did, and we (my boyfriend and I) had to deal with my snoring father for our stay. The hotel parking lot never got full during the Labor Day weekend. I personally think they didn't want to clean an extra room. In this day and age, how does overbooking rooms still happen!?

One of the worst hotel stays we have ever experienced. Granted they were 'clean enough' but the first room they put us in had a thick layer of bleach over everything and smelled like a chemical plant, I had a migraine within 2 minutes. The second room was on the 2nd floor, which just oozed smell, I can't really tell you of what, the room didn't really smell but still. We stayed because desperate times desperate measures, the staff was never around if you needed something, there were trash bags with garbage laying all around the entry and hallways, even out front. People were wandering all night, random knocks and bangs on the wall, wafting weed through the hallways, no amenities, no service, no refunds. Just do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Zero stars. Nope.

This is a hard place to review.... The staff are very friendly and helpful, the location is good and the place is reasonably clean. I want to rate the staff at 5 because they really are great and accommodating. I just don't see the value in pricing with no continental breakfast, pool, or significant amenities. The beds lack the bed bug protective covers and the hand sanitizing stations were often empty. These are definitely things that should be tended to. On the positive side, there is also a large fridge with top freezer in the room and a cook top range that makes for a convenient amenity. Would I stay again? Not sure. Would probably give it a second try.

We had a lovely 4 night stay here. The room was sparkling clean and the beds were super comfy (with different firmness pillows to choose from!). The hotel is in a great location, slightly away from downtown but with easy access to the highway. Having the kitchen is great, it saves you so much money - just remember to bring cookware and utensils.

MILITARY MEMBERS I stayed in the My place hotel while my wife and I were waiting for on-base housing. Our experience here was pretty good, the hotel came with stove tops and a microwave. Though the fridge was smaller than most household refrigerators I think the size of the room helped compensate. I had to pleasure of meeting the owner and he agreed to lower my weekly rates to help match my BAH. I am not sure of he will do this for all member, but he said he wanted our business, even without lowering my rate I was really only 200 dollars out of pocket a month. The hotel cleaners kept the room clean, but we did notice that they wouldn't always change the bed sheets which is reasonable to wash at least once a month. The only bad thing that happened was near the of our stay, when the hotel accidentally changed our rate far beyond the extended stay rate. All in all they over charged us for some 400 dollars and when we brought the concern up they said they'd refund us for the the difference. They eventually did but it took almost a month and a half to get the refund back. Overall a real solid place to stay if you have a small family and are waiting for proper housing.

The absolute best Hotel I ever stayed at. The staff was so polite, warming, and so understanding. The room was AMAZING, very clean, and extremely comfortable. The location I was at had an awesome view. The manager gave me some chocolate for Mother's Day!!! I Thank her so very much because it really really meant a lot to me!!!Thank you My Place Hotel, you made myself and my son experience very worthy it. Please keep up the love that you all made us feel.

Nice place. Quiet location even though it’s right off the highway. Location is nice if you’re doing the tourist thing. The furniture was comfy, especially the recliner chair.The square folded pillows were kind of a nightmare though... took us a night to figure out they were folded up that way and weren’t actually that shape.My only real complaint is the doors and how much noise they let in. Every time a door slammed on your floor it sounded like your door. It also sounded that way when someone went in their door, so because of that we slept pretty restlessly.Overall though, our stay was good... and definitely worth the price.

We had to stay here for over a week while our place was being releveled. Broken dust pan, broken vacuum, had to use garbage disposal every time we ran the kitchen sink, key entry to the back door was broken, beds and pillows were ridiculously uncomfortable, they did not keep clean bedding/blankets readily available for guests. Would not stay again by choice to be honest.

Good newer Hotel. Clean and the lady at the desk was very nice and helpful. Price was very reasonable compared to others in the area. Had a full fridge, microwave and cook top stove. AC worked very well. One star off for the TV and remote not working and the walls are thin so you get noise from outside and others in the hotel. I would stay here again.
