Overall, it was a great three night stay. Check-in was quick and friendly. Rooms are easily accessible via the elevators in the lobby. Both rooms were very clean, and the bathroom was clean, minus one somewhat large complaint - there was a pair of underwear from the previous occupant underneath the vanity 🤢. We disposed of them. Other than that, honestly, nothing else negative of note. The pool and hot tub area were also clean. The little snack and drink station in the lobby was also quite convenient. Also, very accessible location right off I-90.Rooms: Rooms were overall very clean.Food & drinks: As of May 2024, the kitchen was closed temporarily. So there was no on-site breakfast.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever stayed at. I feel like royalty every time I walk in the door. Maybe that seems silly, but this place makes it feel right. They have a shuttle service, text messaging service (where they basically bring you whatever you need if you just text), and the restaurant here is great! The people here are all friendly and seem to genuinely love their job. The swimming pool and hot tub are very clean looking, spacious, and the perfect temperature. I’d say the pool alone is worth the visit here. Thanks Cambria for making such a great experience!

The rooms were nice and clean. Besides that, I was disappointed in my stay, because of the way we were treated. We decided to go on a trip to SD from out of state after it was suggested to us because it was our last spring break before graduating college. We wanted to take advantage of not having to take time off from work. After reserving the room online, I called to make sure that I was able to stay there at 20 and 19 since I know some places have a rule that you must 21. When I called I spoke with Brenda the assistant general manager, and right after I told her my age and that it was spring break for us, she immediately started to make unnecessary comments to me. A few were "If you plan on bringing alcohol and inviting a lot of people to have a party in our hotel, then don't even bother coming here", (thank you Brenda for assuming such things, I am glad that we were able to prove you wrong.) and then she said "Our hotels are not meant for parties, and also you are only 20 you are underage, and drinking is illegal." (thank you for the information, I know how old I am Brenda, and I know what is legal and what is not.). After the remarks, Brenda ultimately told me that yes, I was allowed to book a room with them at my age, so I continued to plan our trip. When arriving at the hotel, my boyfriend and I walked into the hotel to check into our room. When standing at the counter Brenda was the first to greet us and she asked my name and age, I told her those things. And who I believe was the General Manager (not sure of her name, think it may have been Kim, as no one wore name tags or had the sign up for manager on duty.) of the hotel snapped at us and said, "no you are not allowed to stay here unless you are 21 years old." And I told her that I called 5 days before we were set to check in and I was told by Brenda, who was checking us in, that we were allowed to stay at our ages. She then proceeded to tell us that the rule had just changed a couple of days ago because they had, had some issues with minors drinking at the bar. (Yes, I am a minor, I am sorry, but I don't know how that pertains to me as you should be able to have someone capable of checking IDs to see if the person is of age or not. That doesn't fall on me.). She then said, "If you plan on coming back to SD, don't you plan on staying with us again because you are not allowed". and then said, "If there is any sign of alcohol in your room, you will be asked to pack up and leave the hotel." At this point, I was ready to walk out the door and find another hotel to stay at.I understood that yes, it was spring break, and we are underage, but even as a 20-year-old, I felt as though the managers of this hotel could have handled this situation with much more respect for their customers.Eventually, we got our keys to our room and were able to get settled in. The next day, our keys were disabled for some reason, we went to the front desk after attempting to get into our room after a day of adventuring, and we spent 15 minutes trying to get someone to reset our keys. I called the hotel 4 times trying to get someone to come out to answer the phones, but that didn't work, so, I eventually started walking around knocking on the hotel staff doors, when I believe Kim finally came out from the back room and blamed it on that they haven't set up a way for them to know when people are at the front desk. I noticed that there were 2 bells they had hidden behind the counter, that could have been set out for customers. On checkout day after loading the car up, the lady working the front desk, (not sure of her name) was standing outside and had seen us loading the car. We walked to the front desk, where we waited for someone to help us, as the lady stood outside watching us wait, through the window, as she had to finish her cigarette. (Yes, people get breaks, but customers should come first.)You will not have to worry about my business ever again, even when I am 21 and am "allowed" back!Hope you know now that not every college student goes on spring break to party.

We just discovered their breakfast! I wish I had taken a picture of my most amazing BLT with egg. It had to be the biggest croissant I have ever seen. It was filled with lettuce egg, crispy bacon, tomato and a wonderful sauce. And it came with a side fruit salad that I counted nine different fruits! I definitely want to come back for breakfast. They serve breakfast until 10:00 (I asked) on top of this delicious breakfast the service was amazing!

We were scheduled to participate in a volleyball tournament this past weekend but it was cancelled. We had booked our room through the stay and play mechanism for Cambria hotel. I assumed the reservation would be cancelled since the tournament was cancelled but apparently that didn't happen. I tried getting a refund through the hotel and the company that handles the stay and play reservation but neither would refund. They said they didn't they the ability to refund but clearly they could do anything they wanted to...they just didn't want to. I even said I'd take a voucher to stay another time and they said no. Clearly they have no interest in doing the right thing. Pretty patheticNoteworthy details: didnt stay there...see above

The lady at the front desk when we checked in yesterday afternoon was very kind and helpful! Our room was just what we expected clean and comfortable. We ate supper and couldn't have had a better meal. The chef Cercie Usher did an amazing job with the chicken Alfredo for my husband. Our appetizer was great. I had a club sandwich and it was way more than I could eat. Cercie was our waitress, server and chef. You can tell she enjoys her job. We have stayed here before but have never had the opportunity to eat supper. Glad we were able to enjoy an excellent meal without having to drive anywhere.

Overall, we had a pleasant week-long experience at the Cambria Hotel. We were visiting Rapid City for a vacation and had a positive experience. The hotel staff was quick to resolve any issues and respond to our questions or requests. The rooms were spacious and clean, with several amenities available. The pool was large enough to accommodate several other guests, and although we didn't use it, the Fitness Room had plenty of options for working out.

Our family trip just happened to be the opening weekend of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Did not realize this, even though the hotel was full, and assume chaotic for staff, it was a wonderful stay. The staff were genuinely nice, helpful, and appeared to really enjoy being there. The pool is open late, the sauna actually hot, but its separated from the rooms so no noise from the pool. Rooms were spotless, great layout, everything was perfect. Used to work in Hotels so usually spot something wrong, but not here. Highly recommend this hotel if your in the area.

I stay in hotels and motels all over the country for work as a musician. I stayed at this Cambria on Friday the 29th of July 2022. The room itself was ok...over priced but ok. The restuarant was closed (even though it was only 8:15 on a Friday night the weekend before the Sturgis Ralley starts) The pool was "out of service until further notice for yearly maintenance" even though the reason we put up with the over priced room was FOR the pool and hot tub. I guess the week before one of the largest people drawing events in the Nation (The Sturgis Rally) is reason to shut down your pool so unsuspecting guests can help pay for a pool with the higher room charges, that they don't get to use...GREAT marketing strategy!! We did our show in Deadwood Saturday and then after getting home on Sunday...I check my credit card and they had charged me an extra $30 for "incidentals" that I never charged. I called on Monday to ask what the extra charge was for and got a really rude Lady at the front desk that proceeded to tell me that "We do it to every customer and that the charge should drop off in 4 to 5 days...it's for incidentals" I said,"Oh...OK but something like that would be nice to know ahead of time" and asked why they did that without telling their customers, she then kicked her attitude up a notch and asked me VERY rudely if I would like to speak to the General Manager, to which I replied "Absolutely, thank you very much!" She then hung up on me. I then called her right back and asked her why she hung up on me and that is really unprofessional, she tried to tell me that she didn't hang up on me and that she had told me that the manager wouldn't be in until after 10 a.m. that day...Funny...all I heard was a CLICK and then a dial tone...I must've mistaken a dial tone for "Our manager won't be in until after 10 a.m....Goodbye" Hmmm... I guess phonetically it is close. Room not bad but over priced...Pool and hot tub...Don't count on it...Customer Service...a big fat ZERO!! Reccommendation after over all experience...DO NOT STAY HERE!! You deserve better for your hard earned travel dollar...2024 UPDATE: Stayed there now several times (NOT during Sturgis) now and the place has been wonderful. Sometimes you just have to give a place another try...

Front desk lady named Kathryn B with Karen hair cut, goofy glasses was very aggressive and degrading towards my group of people. We had a month stay there before and had no problems, they personally requested us back and was BEYOND RUDE. Made degrading comments towards my team. We were very respectful and our company gladly payed. This hotel missed out on a lot of money with us staying. We had zero accommodation from her, don’t stay here.

For someone who stays at hotels often since 2012, unfortunately, this was honestly one of the worst stay I’ve had in my entire life (all 3 hours of it). This hotel was always my go to but they went down hill in a hurry!1) Bathroom was not fully cleaned. Used towel and an opened soap bar next to the sink when I walked in.2) Hot day/night so AC was required. Wall unit was so loud when it turned on that it was impossible to fall asleep…even operating on 3.5 hours of sleep. I tried taking the plastic cover off but that wasn’t the issue. Even after turning on, it would not bring the room to its setting that I set so it just kept turning on and off continuously.3) After the hassle with the AC unit, I tried calling the front desk for a half hour to no avail. I packed my stuff up at 1:30 in the morning and got my money back. Never choosing this hotel again!I’m sure they have rooms that are just fine and will hopefully fix the phoning front desk issue, but can’t afford to have another experience like this!

Overall a decent hotel the pool if very nice and the hot tube is very hot and relaxing. Although the room had a few minor issues the pull out bed did not have enough blankets and we had to order more and the wallpaper looked folded up in the corners of the rooms. By the way they say the monuments are near by but in reality they are 30 minutes away.Food & drinks: The food was really good for hotel food and a great place to eat the food comes decently fast the waitress that I had was very nice and carrying.

Only complaint is that when I booked I specifically asked if they had a continental breakfast, I was assured they did... they do NOT.... rooms are nice and clean, even have actual bed bug covers (very impressive, definitely a plus). I would stay again for sure.Rooms: Slightly run down but clean.

We stay there three nights. The two ladies that worked in the mornings we're helpful and fun. They need longer shower curtains in the tubs. Tuesday our hotel key would not work. Went from the fourth floor to the first floor three times to get my key to work. Was not happy about that especially after we were riding on motorcycle all day and it was 100° then had to come back to not be able to get into my room three times. They need to get a liquor license because it was sort of a bummer not being able to get a drink. We did have dinner there one night. The chicken alfredo it was okay. They're special was a steak fajita and that was really good.

The front desk check in staff was very nice and accommodating. The hallways had huge stains on the carpeting. The room was not overly clean, like I had to wipe the toilet and there was a penny in the bowl. The sofa sleeper bedding was dirty so I went to get new at the front desk. She was so nice to suggest and give us an extra comforter to go under the fitted sheet for extra padding as the mattress is really bad. The regular beds were fairly comfortable. Lots of pillows available. The air is very cold, the shower was pretty good although the tub didn’t drain too well. The pool was drained completely, but we were offered to use the pool at the hotel next door. We walked over there, but it was crowded, so we didn’t go in. The breakfast is not included here which is surprising considering how much we paid for the room. I failed to notice this when booking online so that’s on me. I might stay here again, but would probably choose a place with breakfast included. Do the next guest a favor and remove your used bedding from the sofa sleeper if you use it so the next person gets new. The room was very quiet on the backside of the hotel which was a big plus. There is a really good burger restaurant behind the hotel that we ate at. Very friendly staff.

Rooms were very comfortable but...Way overpriced for the Rally.I moved to another hotel for almost half the price the following morning that was equally as comfortable.Had the pricing been a bit more reasonable I would have stayed the entire week.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Cambria Hotel in Rapid City, and I must say it was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I've ever had. From the moment I checked in, the staff's lack of professionalism and disregard for guests' privacy was apparent.During my stay, I was interrupted not once, but twice, by a server while I was on an important work call. This alone was incredibly frustrating, as I had explicitly requested a quiet and uninterrupted environment to conduct my business. Despite my attempts to signal that I was busy and needed privacy, the server showed no consideration and thoughtlessly disrupted my call, causing unnecessary distractions and disruptions. As if that wasn't enough, the situation escalated when the manager himself barged into the room unannounced and proceeded to berate me in front of other guests. His actions were completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Not only did he cause me to abruptly end my call with a customer, but he also subjected me to a humiliating ordeal as he yelled at me, with his voice echoing throughout the entire downstairs of the hotel. It was not only deeply embarrassing but also highly unbecoming of someone in a managerial position. The fact that the manager felt it appropriate to raise his voice and create such a scene demonstrates a complete lack of respect and customer service skills. Instead of addressing the situation calmly and discreetly, he chose to publicly shame me, causing unnecessary distress and discomfort. It was abundantly clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority for the staff at the Cambria Hotel in Rapid City.In addition to the shocking behavior of the staff, I also found the overall ambiance of the hotel to be subpar. The rooms were poorly maintained, with worn-out furniture and outdated decor. The cleanliness left much to be desired, as I noticed stains on the carpets and bedding, further adding to my dissatisfaction with the establishment.Considering the highly unprofessional conduct of the staff, particularly the manager, and the overall lackluster state of the hotel, I cannot recommend the Cambria Hotel in Rapid City to anyone. It is clear that they prioritize their own convenience over the needs and comfort of their guests. Save yourself the trouble and find an alternative accommodation that respects your privacy and provides a level of professionalism that Cambria Hotel severely lacks.Noteworthy details: Incredibly unprofessional staff.

This hotel is very unprofessional, try and rule with an iron fist. The maintenance named Jeff thinks of us Native People as savages. From his own mouth, the G.M. Cat should not be in that position of power. Embezzled at her last hotel and brings her own crew with her , forces everybody out that's been there for years. I thought if you had embezzlement you couldn't have that position. And her little cronies named Brenda is just as bad. Jeff is allowed to bully women and make them cry with no consequences, I don't recall the sales lady name, but she is in the same boat. I think she helps with the books to embezzle with cat. She won't even talk to people of color. But work racism really exists. And your value as a human being is not valued or respected. To my Native people out there, don't go there. For your own good. Oh before I forget, who takes their J1s out to shoot automatic rifles and hand guns. Legal or not? And Brenda is a felon as A.G.M, is that legal?

THEFT and lack of Management. Items were stolen from our room. Not once, but TWICE. Management has lied and avoided my calls. After the item was stolen the first time, it was located and verified by Brenda (general manager) that the item had been returned to the hotel. Then after paying for a shipping label to and from the hotel for the return of my item, the item was stolen a second time. I had to keep calling them after my tracking number was shown to be received from the hotel, but was never sent back. I kept calling and when I finally did speak with the Manager, my item had been stolen AGAIN. I tried to remedy this situation before having to leave negative reviews of the hotel and staff, but as of now, nothing has been done to remedy this situation!

Me and my husband booked here for a 4 night stay for vacation. I booked over the phone and then check in online. Upon using the app to check in it asks if you want to use the card you made the reservation with or another one. I chose another and it says to present the card to the front desk when you arrive, so I did. When I get there they let me know it already charged to the card I booked with but they can issues a refund which will take numerous days to get back to the card. It wasn't a super big deal since it will be refunded but I can see for some people how having over $1000 tied up could be a big deal. Especially on vacation. We got into the room and right away noticed a few issues. The fridge was completely frozen up and didn't cool anything, batteries dead in the remote, hair on the walls in the shower, very noticeable stains on the couch and the AC was not great. We normally keep temp at 69 in our own home but had to turn the room temp down to 62 just to be comfortable and it wasn't very hot outside! The night maintenance man was very friendly and accommodating to the situation with the fridge and remote and took care of the issue in a very timely manner. Breakfast is not free but didn't mind the cost. We ate at the restaurant 2 of the mornings and everything was tasty. One of the mornings was a Saturday and very busy and still only had one waitress to do everything. I would highly suggest having a second person on the weekends. She was very nice but very overwhelmed. Then since the housekeepers only come every three days I had to request more toilet paper be left in our room which was not done so I still had to go to the front desk and ask for more. Plus I had to purchase garbage bags being that the only garbage can provided is bagless and the size of a cereal box. Being that the housekeepers only come every three days I couldn't imagine what else to do with all the garbage that had accumulated.I specifically chose this hotel since it was little more spendy thinking we would get a nicer higher end experience then usual but I was mistaken. I have had better experience at a $90 a night La quinta. The staff overall was nice but definitely had things to work on given the price of a stay.

We stayed 5 nights when we unexpectedly were stuck in Rapid City. The staff was amazing and went above and beyond to take care of any special requests we had during our stay. Beds were comfortable, breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic and the woman who cooked for us really was the best at meeting our special dietary needs. I cannot recommend this hotel enough!
