You'll either love it or hate it. The food is average. The service is average. But the location and ambience is second to none. It is a local dive. A bunch of good ole' boys. As long as you're okay with this, stop here. It will be worth it. If you order the prime rib (recommended) get ready for the best home made horseradish you may ever experience!

Late afternoon started out with a drive along Argyle road with my wife & myself, then made the turn on the Hwy to Pringle SD.When we arrived in Pringle was happy to see the hitchrail bar and restaurant was open as our hunger was kicking in.What a nice place to step in and a warm smile to greet us, when the food came we noticed the quality was far better than other places since covit cut backs, the chicken fried steak was so tender the fork was all you needed to cut and eat with. Oh my the ribs where a treat since my last ribs some where else was dead on arrival, the ribs here was soft and tender and I made a mess with the BBQ sauce all over my hands.Now the best part is the dessert and our wait staff Cypress V. New that the chocolate cake was the magic touch for the night, Wow thank you Cypress for being so attentive while the place was so busy.

Best food I’ve had since Covid cutbacks and poor quality food supplies around this end of the state. Fresh hand breaded chicken fried steak with pepper gravy, a fluffy baked potato and salad bar. Dessert was a wonderful chocolate fudge cake. Service was very friendly and happily accommodated my service dog. Food arrived quickly. Prices very reasonable for the amount of food. We will be back!

It was SUPER busy I think the whole town of Pringle was there (maybe even the whole county) but definitely worth the wait. My husband had the catfish and he said it was the best he ever had, (I had a bite and agreed it was good and I don't like fish). I had a burger and it was definitely not from a frozen patty.Oh and we didn't try any of the dinner danglers but if that's your thing I bet they're great!My husband was worried because We did leave the cash on the table. I tried to reassure him that we weren't in Chicago.

A year ago my wife and I ate here and it was fantastic. This year, the experience couldn't be more different.We arrived and were informed they were waiting on 2 reservations. After they arrived, we would be next.The reservations arrived as well as 2 other parties of four. The ten of us were waiting in the bar, when one of the foursome decided they were done waiting and sat at a table freshly vacated.Others were just walking in and sitting at tables that hadn't been bussed yet.After 40 minutes of this, we were through when I questioned a wait staff.Her replies were, "Oh, it's just the locals. Don't worry, we're getting your table ready."Sure enough, we were seated. However, it would be another 20 minutes before our order was taken and another 40 minutes before our food arrived.I ordered the all-you-can-eat catfish. My food would eventually arrive, but when I got up to use the restrooms, BEFORE I finished my food(first and only helping), the waitress decided I was done. I still had my dinner on my plate! I came back to find my place setting cleared and my wife with a to go box.I asked her what had happened to my plate. Her response was that the waitress asked her if she wanted a box. When she said, "Yes." The waitress removed my dinner.I quickly turned and made eye contact with a waitress, and she asked if I was ready for the check.At this point, I was so angry that I decided it would be in my best interest to leave.As much as I thoroughly enjoyed our visit last year, as of now, I can't imagine that I would ever come back now.Too bad. It was a neat little place.

Stopped in for dinner last week. The prime rib was bland, lacking of any seasoning. There were 2 waitresses and only 4 tables with customers, but the service was awful.Our waitresses name began with the letter "L" and L could use Training on how to be a waitress. Once we got our food, she was MIA. Never returned to see if we needed more drinks. We had to flag her down for our bill.Going to be a looooong minute before we return.

The best Americana food and classic Americana atmosphere around. Our family had one of everything on the menu and none of it was even just okay. Everything was fantastic. Incredible patrons and friendly, safe environment. If you’re out of town and in the area you MUST STOP HERE.

I'm not one for leaving online reviews but thinking about this place got my mouth watering again. I figure it can't hurt to show some support. I was here quite a few months back during winter with a big group of people. I had a burger ( Looking at the menu online I believe it was the "Our Famous 1/3# Pound Burger") and it was definitely good but what stole the show for me was the Nice Big Ol Piece of Chocolate Cake. My god that thing was the best damn cake i've ever eaten. I will definitely be getting another slice if I get the chance to go here again. All the other people with me got Steaks and damn did they look good. They actually had everyone silent while they were eating for once so they must of tasted just as good as they looked. I think next time I come I'll have to finally find out what the fuss is and try out a medium rare steak instead of getting a well done steak that i've always gotten else wear. While we were eating, there was a couple of folks who started playing on their guitars and singing which made the night even better. I'm not one for socializing but looking around while i was enjoying my meal everybody else in the place looked like they were having a good time. I'm definitely looking forward to coming again in the future. Looking at the online menu I might just have to try a Buffalo Burger too.

The food was really good. We had the prime rib and the all you can eat catfish . They were having a wedding reception so all our family couldn't eat there because of no tables which was disappointing but understandable . We ate in the bar area with another couple. The waitress ( I think her name was LeAnn) was so Awesome !! Great Service

Absolutely worth the drive. The food and service was amazing. Hand cut fries were perfect, buffalo burgers done just right. Also has a great kids menu. I cannot say enough great things about this place. Definitely will go back every time I am in South Dakota.

Overall, it was a good experience. My steak was a little under cooked for my liking, and they took it back and cooked it . But the taste was good and it was a reasonable price for all that you got.Kid-friendliness: A good family place.
