This was a perfect spot to stay during our cross country journey. Like the other reviews mention, some may be put off by the exterior but what matters most to us is safety, cleanliness, and allowing dogs. Hutch's checked all our boxes and had friendly service to match. Definitely will stay again the next time we pass through!Food & drinks: Our breakfast was fantastic (highly recommend the cinnamon roll) and ready to go pretty quick so we could get back on the road.

Scott, the owner is the bomb!! Great guy, great character, funny, very nice and accommodating! He's the maintenance guy the desk guy, the bell hop, the dog walker, and the maid!!! He cleans just like his grandma taught him years ago!!He let us stay after we couldn't find anything in previous towns at 2:30am and with my Rottweiler puppy! He even took her out to potty for me ha ha! What motel owner does this, in this corrupt world!!His hospitality goes way beyond anyone could ever imagine!!His rooms are clean enough to eat off the floors, although vintage decor! His beds are so comfy!I pray I get to stay with him again in the future!! I hands down recommend this place!P.S. the little dinner next door was really great also!

Lovely mom and pop motel.Great price. Felt very safe and it was quiet. Staff was very nice and room was clean.The older decor is part of the charm.The only thing I would suggest is softer thicker sheets.

From the start, this place is just a little off of I-90 and it's an older place, not trying to sparkle your eyes with glitz and glamour. But so far it's QUIET and that's what you want if you want rest. The room is spacious and clean, bathroom recently remodeled and in working order. The air conditioner is working without being loud. At this time, the TV wasn't working, but that will be addressed in the morning. The price is very reasonable, especially if you've been traveling all day and haven't seen other lodges. I'll see if anything changes my mind between now and when the alarm goes off.

As a lady truck driver I have the privilege and opportunity to experience different foods in all kinds of atmosphere's from fine dining to old fashioned diner's. This place is in a little town and looking from the outside a person might not expect anything good on the inside. However, that was not the case here. People inside including the local customers were extremely friendly. Then there's the service which was great and the food; well I can say this...I'm an extremely picky person and the food was fantastic! Absolutely delicious, good sized portions and cooked well! The next time I am in the area I will definitely be stopping again! Thank you Norma for your service and great smile!

My friend and I are driving cross-country from Michigan to California. As we were passing through South Dakota, we found ourselves tired and wanting to stop for the evening. We were in the middle of nowhere and the nearest known hotel was over 30 miles off our route. We decided to stop at Hutch's. To be completely honest, we were a bit skeptical and almost didn't stop. Thank goodness we did though! The man at the front desk (presumably the owner) was super welcoming and friendly! He offered to help us with our bags and got us settled in nicely. Our hotel room was very clean and surprisingly large. The bathrooms were perfect and very clean as well. Everything was clean and tidy. We had a great nights sleep. As we were leaving the same gentleman that checked us in, came out to thank us for staying. It was the perfect end to our stay. I can't recommend this place enough!

Friendly staff, very CLEAN room, 65.00 a night and PET FRIENDLY. Cafe and lounge located right next door and there is also truck parking around back. Great place. I'll definitely stay here again. I was, like other reviewers, skeptical about staying here. But I was pleasantly surprised. Some of the decor and furniture is a little 'dated' but everything is still clean. Great little family owned place to stay.

Very nice gentleman running both the hotel and the restaurant. service was excellent food was excellent. the waitress was outstanding and very friendly. it was very clean and I felt very safe they do an excellent job. small towns need more business you should stop there on your way through.😁

We had lunch at Hutch's Cafe & Lounge on our road trip. My family of 4 really enjoyed the stop. The cafe is old, but very clean and the staff is super friendly. We had burgers and fries, soda in a can. We'd stop here again if we are ever in the area.

The roast beef was absolutely fantastic!! The size of the portion was more than adequate for the price. Randi our server checked with us often but was not over zealous. She was very nice and courteous. This is one place you can stop and have a home cooked meal. Potato soup was great.

The hotel is great. A little expensive for what you get ($65 for the night +$10 for my dog, no breakfast), but overall pretty good. The staff was friendly. They have self-check-in of you get there late. The room is big and the beds are comfy. The shower is decent, but the head is a little low. I'm 5'10", and it got me between the shoulders. There was probably another 8" of head Tom, so if you're talked than I am it might be a little cramped. Overall, a great start, especially since I wasn't planning to stop until Wyoming. Damn South Dakota weather...

Wonderful family-owned place: friendly, clean, comfortable, surprisingly big rooms, and good food. My partner and I stayed here for one night on our way from Badlands back to Wisconsin. We came to the motel around 10pm. The owners are very nice and helpful, and the place looks very well cared for. You can see it in the details too (in how the rooms are set-up, in the coffeepots in the hallway, in the info sheets in the rooms, in the outside decorations etc). This place can't be booked anywhere online (and that usually stops us), but it is totally worth it.

We were looking for a room late Saturday night, my fiancé said let’s just stay here. Not going to lie I was kind of skeptical due to the area. The man and young man were very nice and friendly. The room was clean, comfy bed and the best part. The shower head has some pressure I didn’t want to get out. Lol great staff, svc, I always say don’t judge a book by his cover and I sure misjudged this place. Cute doggy too

Typical family-run motel. Concrete block interior walls mean quiet rooms. Clean; with nice updates in bathroom. Comfortable bed. Ate breakfast at Cafe. Great farm-style offerings. Friendly, helpful waitress with recommendations of things to see and do. I would definitely stay here again.

It was a welcome place to sleep and rest during a storm. Would not have stayed there if anything else was available. That said, the place was clean-ish as could be given its usual purpose (place for hunters) and its age ... guessing built in the 50s. Shower was awesome and front desk was very friendly.

Just stayed at Hutches this past week for a night. This was such a great space! My friend and I were traveling across country and we had a late night of driving when we called Hutches. We arrived late in the night and they waited up for us! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We ate breakfast the next day which was also great. I read a earlier review about bed bugs and that is just NOT the case at all, our clean was completely clean in every way. I would totally stay again!!!

During our cross-country motorcycle trip from Washington to Ohio and back, we stopped here and stayed the night. The room is very spacious and extremely clean and comfortable. It is very well taken care of! I'm so please we stopped here. If you happen to be passing through, stay a night. Only $60 for 3 of us!

They have been so helpful to us, it’s a nice homey motel that is clean and quiet. There’s not much to do around here but Jet Lanes has some pretty good fried chicken.

We searched for a place to sleep for 3 hours, and every place was full. We finally found this place. It doesn't look like much, but we got the best nights sleep we've had the whole trip. It's quiet and comfortable and clean. I definitely recommend it for the road weary traveler.

Horrible experience. Waitress was un-attentive. Forgot to tell us we could help ourselves to salad bar that came with meal, and never checked on us until we were almost finished. She didn't notice that we never found salad bar. Food was greasy tasting and mediocre. very disappointing, not what I expected based on other reviews. The only positive was that the food came fairly quick.

Stopped by Hutch's cafe while on the road after reading some of the reviews. Well, It's a great place. It's simple and even has all the right smells. It smells like the truck stops of old (60's-90's) when food was really cooked well and meant for the enjoyment of patron and not just mass production to be shoved down your gullet. My wife is veeeeery fussy about soup and raaaaaaarely likes soup in restaurants. I can't even remember the last time she liked a bowl or cup of soup in a restaurant. Well, the waitress said 'and it's good' so my wife took the risk and was rewarded with a stellar bowl of beef and noodle soup. I don't think my wife would have risked ordering soup if it weren't for the fact that the workers there were so darn nice. I even thought that they were nice and I generally don't think anyone is nice :)Burger was great and people-sized. Roast Beef good to go to. We will stop there again...and again...and again...and you see the pattern.

The outside does not impress you when you pull up. However, the inside and rooms are really nice. Very clean and we'll maintained. The owners are on site and are really friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable. $60.00 including taxes the night we stayed.

People are really nice and service is good. Family owned and operated. From grandparents to great grandkids work here. Food is not to shabby. Pretty darn good! Would be a five star place if they served waffles!
