Pulled in bc the kids wanted to see the Prairie Dogs. Much nicer on inside than I expected which large assortment of souvenirs.Prairie Dogs are super friendly and will take a carrot right from your hand.

They open late compare to google working hours, the price is expensive compare to other place around. But the only way they have advertisement "the last gas station before badlands" so we got no choice. LolBut they have huge parking spot for rest for a while and also their porta potty

Nice place, stopped in for a Bison Hot Dog and some beers. Bought a great T-shirt. Staff is kind and love hanging out at the picnic tables with the Prairie Dogs. Well with the stop for fuel, restrooms, bite to eat and a trinket or two. Just a few minutes to the main gate @ Badlands.

This is a convenient place to stop for gas to or from the Badlands. However, the gas is more expensive and the choices are limited to 87 or 91 octane with both containing up to 10% ethanol.

Great place to stop for last minute goods and gas before you go into the Badlands. Lots of selections on gifts and provisions at reasonable prices. The atmosphere and decor are spot on. The staff were inviting and friendly. I would recommend to stop and take a look.

Not only this is the place to fill up your car's gas tank, I would say also the place to buy some souvenir, the items they sell are more diversity than the gift shop where locate in the national park~

Very clean! Manager Tim very friendly. Had a very informative discussion about the difficulties in hiring & retaining employees in order to stay open. Check out staff very friendly & helpful. Restrooms clean & well stocked. Love this truck stop!

This place was phenomenal! We stopped for gas, we ended up chilling here while we enjoyed our soft served ice cream. Great decor!

Stopped here June 2022. Stopped to use the restroom, but spent time at the souvenir shop and there’s great spots for photos ops outside. It’s was pretty busy and lots of people taking pictures. Got a few things from the souvenir store although it is a bit pricey. There are life size bison models that kids (and even some adults) were climbing for pictures. Also, there were lots of prairie dogs just outside. And of course gasoline. Overall and fun stop.

As we are walking up to the door, they closed. It was 4:45pm and folks just walked out of the store. Paid $4.89 for diesel! Thought you were open until 5:30?

2pm, 6-3-22. ...get gas and go inside for coffee. There's 2 cash registers and 4 kids* behind the counter. (*When I say kids, I mean kids. None of them looked older than 15 or 16.).BOTH registers were closed the one surly kid said. They were counting the cash. (Why, I have no idea). They had stacks of bills piled up on the counter as they counted it--pretty sloppy cash management..Anyway - for 15 minutes they had BOTH registers closed for this exercise..At one point an adult* (*Adult meaning he appeared to be mid-20's) came over to check on them. He very consciously avoided eye contact with us customers (by now there were 6 or 7 people lined up behind me.).This cluster went on for about 15 minute. When done I paid and left; never got a thank you or sorry or anything of the sort. What an incompetently run operation..PS....for the entire week we were in SD this was the only negative experience we had. Overall the folks we dealt with from Sioux Falls to the Black Hills were exceptionally nice, friendly and helpful to out of state tourists.

Very cool store with lots of neat merchandise. They had these really huge and delicious hot dogs, and the best part is they have a covered picnic areaand patio ,and all round are lots of prairie dogs! We fed the prairie dogs part of our hot dog buns during lunch, it was really fun and entertaining.

Cute little stop, clean restrooms. No long handled squeegee to clean RV windshields and half the squeegee things had no liquid, kind of important for traveling around here. Bought some cute shirts but beware they run small.

We stop here pretty much every trip to the Black Hills. It's convenient, has clean restrooms, and has a good variety of snack options -- packaged for the road, and hot dogs, too. They even had Buffalo hot dogs the last time we stopped. We like to look at the prairie dogs outside too. It's a nice place to stop and get out of the car for a bit. Very near the entrance to the Badlands scenic road, too, so it's not out of he way at all if you're visiting the Badlands.

The first pump we used did not work at all trying to put our credit card in. The second pump worked and then it didn’t auto shut off when the tank was full! Gas started spilling on the side of the car. Luckily we caught it right away and were able to stop it quickly. There were stray cats going through the trash cans which was kinda funny.

Very quaint little store, rustic theme, great finds. I spent more money than I had intended to but I found a pair of heart shaped turquoise drop earrings for my daughter that she absolutely loves!!

Stopped here on a road trip early in the morning. The place was closed but gas was still available and a port a potty was at the front of the building. My husband had to use the bathroom so decided to use the available port a potty. That was a huge mistake. His response when he quickly returned was "I cannot unsee what I just saw." I know it is a port a potty but if that is the only available bathroom they could at least make sure it is halfway decent. We were not the only ones that had stopped here and had to use the bathroom. There were other people using it as well with the same reaction.

It's okay. Kind of run down. Prices for shirts and last minute souvenirs was pretty good. The lady behind the counter wasn't wearing a mask but had a giant plastic shield between her and the customers I guess, I just hope she didn't touch the food. She was also going back and forth between eating and then going to the register to check people out without washing her hands in between. Normally I could care less but you know with a global pandemic and everything it's kind of strange.

Bison hot dogs were super dry and getting them from the roller grill was contact-full. Perhaps not the fault of the business, but not a lot of guests wearing masks or respecting social distancing. Bathrooms were fairly clean. It's a convenient stop right before going into the Badlands, but overall , it's just an ok gas station.

Very clean facilities, and a nice selection of souvenirs. Friendly cashier, and cute prairie dogs outside. Also they sold a good buffalo hot dog. Large selection of food and snacks! But here’s where it gets amazing. I have a friend named Wesley, and everywhere he goes is not able to find things with his name on it… Souvenir mugs, souvenir keychains, souvenir license plates… None of them ever have Wesley. It has left him crushed and bitter… But… Here we found it!!! Like a light shining in the darkness. No more shall he be crushed and dejected and ignored by society, because we were able to find a knife with his name on it. A souvenir knife, that with tears in his eyes, he bought, and is still holding to this day!It has, in someways, turned his life around and restored his faith in humanity. God bless you Badlands trading post for making my friend’s dreams come true.

This was our families 4th trip to the area from Wisconsin. We always stop here after our day in the Badlands and feeding the prairie dogs. Nice clean facility with plenty of souvenir shopping before the 9 hour drive home.

Nice gas station with lots of souvineers to choose from. It's only about 14miles from Cedar Pass Campground and the visitors center. Off the side of the parking lot was a spot where you could observe prairie dogs.

Really cool gift shop and gas station right before entering the Badlands Park. Great place to pick up a unique gift. They have a real prarie dog town right on site. It's a lot of fun to watch them whistle to each other and chase each other around. Make sure to grab some snacks and batteries for your camera. Worth the stop.

I waited about 15 minutes in line to pay for a pricey buffalo hot dog _$3.99 while both cashiers counted every dollar bill & every coin in their drawer then rebooted the register. I should have left! Hot dogs were cold by the time I left!

I agree with those that say there were no receipts issued at the gas pump. The customer service was horrible. I asked for a receipt and the girl at the counter replied, "I'll have you wait in line". So I had to wait in a line 8 deep, just to get a gas receipt. When I finally got my turn at the counter it took about 2 seconds to get the receipt. So I had to wait about 5 minutes for a 2 second task to happen - after I had already paid. Poor customer service after the sale. Won't stop there again.

Most expensive gas we got on our trip. They were very busy and not very efficient or friendly. They did have hot food and convenience items. There were also a few ground hogs running around.

Gas is $1 more than advertised, and 60 cents more than adjacent gas stations. Closed at 6 pm on a Friday. No toilet paper in portapoty. No receipt paper at pump. Pump unlocked, making it a likely place for your credit card information to be stolen.
