We loved our stay! The rooms could use some upgrades and maintenance improvements, however overall it was a great place to spend the weekend. The restaurant was delicious, and every staff member we encountered was so kind. The view is spectacular and I bet in the summer it's a blast!

The rooms were of good size with fairly clean sleep quarters. The bathroom, however, showed signs of inadequate repairs from items that had been previously mounted to the walls, the shower heads were showing signs of water damage, and the trim on the pipes were separated from the wall. The area was located in a very picturesque location, the staff was friendly, and the facility overall was better than most, including a recent stay I had at Tru by Hilton. This location would benefit from more attention to detail by the maintenance staff with room inspections to correct unsightly nuisances. Also, it's the 21st century. Either the property or the supplier of their vending machines should significantly update the machines to accept credit/debit payments.Overall a 7/10 rating this is a fine property that could do for minor updates and minor changes to bring it closer to a 10/10.

Good location. Clean and relaxed staff. The only issue I ran into was that breakfast took entirely to long. Maybe they were understaffed that day?

This resort has a beautiful and peaceful location. We got the river view room and it was well worth it. The sweet lady that checked us in was super fun to talk with while we were filling out the info for the room. She was very warm and inviting with her attitude and sweet smile when we walked in. The room was super clean and the bed was very comfortable. So glad we chose this place for our stay in South Dakota!!!Food & drinks: They have an on site restaurant and bar and also a Tiki Bar as well out on the patio out back.

We did a corporate outing at Arrowwood and I ran into several issues. The check-in process felt unorganized but our biggest issues was the catering/food situation....1. They charged 21.56 per person for the "pizza buffet" for 31 ADULTS.....they provided 5 total pizzas and a basket of breadsticks cut in half. Our group ran out of food almost immediately, I had asked staff about getting more pizza out and they said no, the only planned on 5 pizzas for 31 ADULTS and had no more crust to make them. After asking several people at our table if I was crazy in thinking 5 pizzas was not nearly enough and confirmed, I was not. Went to find a manager, only one there was the bar manager who was helpful in trying to find solutions but overall just fell short, not by his fault. This was the catering managers very poor planning. The next solution was to bring out wings an hour after food ran out and they were sending someone to the store to buy frozen pizzas for $21.56/pp which came out 1.5-2 hours after initially running out of food. Our group was doing a bean bag tournament and had moved on to this once food ran out so this was too little too late. Overall, we ended up having 7 people who never ate because of there being no food available at the planned time.2. They had several groups on one patio, when they did bring out the wings people from other groups were coming and eating the food put out for our group. Very unorganized, we didn't mind too much though as most of group had moved on from food and/or did not care for the wings, but still odd.3. We had ordered catered lunches for the next day, those were good except sandwiches were supposed to have provolone cheese and had swiss instead, not a huge deal but again...not what was ordered. Lunches were also not delivered on time either.Location was nice, food was ok....imagine paying $650+ dollars for 5 pizzas and a half of a basket of "half breadsticks". The most frustrating part of this whole experience was that after booking 20 rooms, spending $1000 on bar tap and over $1200 on food the GENERAL MANAGER and CATERING MANAGER, were well aware that evening of what happened as it was happening, did not bother to call and personally apologize or say a word. These guys are lucky there is no competition in the area for larger groups otherwise we would not be returning at any point. If you are planning a corporate/business event...TRIPLE CHECK AND CONFIRM EVERYTHING and good luck!

I was at a work conference, from out if town. I spent the night here in room 203. The bed was great. The room was nice. The staff were friendly. Like everywhere else, they were short staffed in the restaurant. The service was slow but the waitress was great. The food was fine. The hotel is huge and the banquet room our conference was in was perfect.

Wedding venue, dinner & dance were all great. River views were beautiful! Great boat launch. Every staff member I met in the entire hotel was very friendly & helpful. But I was expecting much more from this resort for the room price. The pool was small & had no adult only hours. The sauna did not work even after maintenance turned it on. The bed was super high & HARD! Not even a microwave in the room. Not sure why the towels were different shades of white to tan. Walls were very dirty! Needs a little updating.

Great staff clean rooms - Bar & restaurant on premises. Some rooms look out over river and tiki bar. Safe place to stop with the family for the night. Only minutes off 90. Great place to run in the morning too.

The biggest thing this place has going for it is location. The water is so close and the views are beautiful. The upkeep of the place is not terrible, but it is lacking. Both of the vending machines were jammed and no one seemed to care. The entire place was dirty - not filthy or disgusting, but just not clean. Cobwebs and bugs in the corners of the rooms, dirty carpet throughout, and stained bedding (laundered, but stained). The outer door of our room had gaps between the seal where you could see daylight and bugs, odors, and sound were free to come and go. The deck where you could sit and see the gorgeous view was splinters and covered with peeling paint. These aren’t huge problems or dealbreakers, but a few things stand between this place just being okay and being amazing. In such a prime location, I do not understand for the life of me why a little more effort isn’t put in to take this place from mediocre to incredible. My biggest issue was actually with the staff. No one was interested in being helpful. The girl at the front desk our first night was actually confrontational with me, as we had not selected a room type at booking and got assigned a hillside room. Despite her admitting that they had many open water view rooms, she argued with me for ten minutes about why I couldn’t simply be switched to an open room on the other side of the hall that no one would be staying in. Then, a few days after checkout, I noticed an unexpected charge on my credit card and called to find they’d charged me the difference in room rate (without telling me they were going to do so). The response I got was a simple and curt “I’ll remind my staff,” but no explanation or apology for charging my credit card without telling me why or that they were doing so.

Amazing place to stay! This is like a hidden gem along I90. The hotel was so clean and my room was very nice with a comfortable bed. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The restaurant has big portions of food and reasonably priced. I had drinks in the bar the first night and Joe the bartender was hilarious. Perfect spot for a family reunion with a camp ground right next to the hotel. The pictures do not do it justice. I will definitely be back next time.

My family and I had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Arrowwood Resort last night. I can honestly say I have never written a negative review on a business, but I feel it is necessary to inform potential guests of what to expect. The resort is a bit dated, which is completely fine. However what was not acceptable was the absolute filth of the resort, inside and out. Upon entering our room, we smelled mildew and smoke immediately. The bathroom had what appeared to be a large mold stain on the ceiling. When we opened the refrigerator to place our food in it, we found old food from previous guests. The lock on the door fell off when we left the room. The grounds outside were even worse. The grounds could be beautiful, however the lack of cleanliness and upkeep was apparent. Throughout the courtyard, there were several beer cans, discarded food, a torn flip flop, multiple pies of dog feces, and firework casings. The only positive attribute the hotel had was the noon check out time, however we wanted to leave asap anyway. The lack of cleanliness is something one would expect to find in a low budget motel, not a "resort" 4 times the cost. I am disappointed we cannot request a refund, as this stay was unacceptable. I hope this lengthy review helps at least one family the disappointment we experienced yesterday.

I would really say give this place like 4.5 stars. The location is great because it's right on the river and there's a path you can walk along, so it's quite pretty. I also though the room was nice, especially compared to others we syoped at while traveling. The soft blanket on the bed was a huge plus for me! The restaurant was handy, but the food was just alright and there's no complimentary breakfast.

Somewhat out of date. Especially out of the way. I sat there on my balcony thinking of SO MANY things that would improve this resort. Needs an influx of new ideas, design, employees...just needs help! It could be so great....if only...Nearby activities: Chamberlin has great antique shops and BETTER restaurants than the resort!

Beautiful place! Stayed one night on the way to Yellowstone. The price is not much more than others in the same town, but totally worthy. We've enjoyed walking along the river under the moon light, playing horse shoes, relaxing in the hot tub and steam sauna...The 2 queen bedroom is big enough for 3 adults, with a wet bar, balcony with nice view.

I had booked a cabin for 2 nights. When I arrived at night my cabin which was a row of rooms across the road from the lodge, not seperated cabins like one would picture. I opened the door and turned on the light switch, nothing, fumble around in the room to find a light to turn on. The outlet that the switch went to, normally for a floor lamp, had 4 items next to it, light unplugged, mini refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot. So you have to move refrigerator to swap the plugs to which one you want to use. One plug in between beds with a light and one open plug. No alarm clock but that is okay as we use our phones. But if you have a CPAP machine you will have to charge your phone in the bathroom as there are no other available plugs in the room. TV and cable box use other plug in the room. Room itself was clean and view looking over the river was beautiful. Next morning went to breakfast in the restaurant, 3 organiztions setting up meetings and they had 1 waitress. I had brought my coffee in with me and had water with my biscuits and gravy, but was still charged for coffee. The cashier said that coffee was brought to the table for the other gentleman. It was a dollar and the waitress gave me a refill so I let it slide. My friends biscuits were hard as a rock, mine were soft but gravy was cold. When I checked out, the gentleman couldnt find me as he said i was booked for one night. I told it I was there for two, then laugh and said well maybe 2nd night was comped for the minor issues which he asked about and told him. He said he would leave it. Now we had a group rate but when I saw the charge on my CC it was $30 higher. Than the recipt i had. I will be calling and requesting a new reciept to file my travel voucher. I was okay with paying for two night and so it is still cheaper with the extra $30, but a phone call to let me know would have been the right thing to do.
