To be utterly honest, this school isn't even worth a one star rating. If the rating system were to be more complex, I would give it a fraction of a star. Over the years that I have gone to this school it continues to go downhill, the school isn't worth going to. Most of the teachers don't have their credentials for what they're assigned to teach. Most of the classes are based on Agriculture, which let's be honest in today's world it's not going to get you far. The majority of the teachers don't care whatsoever, for student’s educational well-being. It's quite intriguing that teachers choose to stay and work here even though this school has one of the lowest pays in all of South Dakota. The majority of the Students that go to this school are very narcissistic , and ignorant to their own beliefs as well. Rumors spread quickly, even though false. To be frank, if you're not of their religion or "country life style" you'll never actually fit in. The school is run by a very ignorant school board, in which they run with personal belief, instead of reason. This school is quite sexist as well, woman are favored over men by rules, and the teachers themselves. The dress code is also very sexist, woman are allowed to wear sleeveless shirts, whilst men are not. Along with quite a few other favored articles of clothing only exclusive to a certain gender. It's allowed for female teachers that are very obese, to wear skin tight yoga pants. I'm sure you can get the hint at what I'm saying, can you just imagine the imagery? The school is at the point, where they are laying off teachers because there is too many teachers compared to the student body ratio. The school has resorted to such desperate measures that they are accepting any special needs kid that come to them, just for the money. Overall, I suggest you don't go to this school, it's not worth it. At this point I think Black Hills Special Services will offer a better future in education than here at "Newell School District."

Newell is a good place, far better than where I came from. No one is perfect, but no one has no room to judge, the whole entire town of Newell is full of nice people who have their own beliefs. Anyone who hates Newell is retarded, everyone here is nice and will try to get along with you unless you give them a reason not to.P.s. don't get offended at the R-word I meant it as mentally slow, it's a regular word to describe something stupid or slow.

I like the town but not the school. I hate all the students there now that I graduated I don't have to think about coming back next year. #retard.Not giving a star but I have too so that it can post.

Newell school district is a very good school when my garnd daughters went there they always got help and with that help came good grades.
