Rooms weren't cleaned.... gaps in walls and caulking. We disputed being charged for our service dog. The front desk said it is managent's policy to charge for ANY dog regarless if it is a service dog, therapy dog, or a pet.... According to South Dakota laws, it is ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL to charge for a service dog who wears their vest and is there to preform a job or several tasks to help their owner.... I will be contacting BBB of South Dakota regarding this.Sheets hanging all over the entire place. Not very friendly at all....

Room needs small things repaired. Numerous things had deck screws in haphazardly. Bathroom not at min ADA standard. When we arrived, the clerk was typical I don't care attitude. Was told a handicap room, first floor was $174 for 2 beds 2 people. Military discount dropped to $154. We just stayed in Deadwood for $210 2 nights! Clerk claimed he didn't know other hotel pricing and was vague if there wasany. South security door not working. The room was standard room and not as requested.

Arrived at 12:30am after driving for 8+ hours. Front desk greeted us with “can’t check anyone in right now, system is in maintenance.” I asked how long it would be and he had no idea. He had no solutions just kept saying he couldn’t check us in. With no alternative we left. There were no other rooms available in the small town and we were too tired to keep driving. We checked with a friend who said they should at least be able to give us our room key and check us in when the system was back up. We went back to the hotel and asked if he would do that and he seemed annoyed but did it. Why did he let us leave the first time? He knew exactly what to do and had us fill out a paper receipt. Room was at minimum acceptable. Expectations weren’t too high considering. I called the general manager the next day and he also seemed annoyed. Didn’t offer an apology until I mentioned it. He wanted to get the front desk persons version of the story and then go from there. The next day I received a text message starting with ‘just so you know…. and went on to say he doesn’t get many complaints about his staff so implying all was good. Both the front desk person and the general manager were unprofessional. I will also be reporting this to Super 8/Wyndham. Don’t stay unless you’re desperate and then have very low expectations.

Reeked of cigarette smoke as soon as we walked in, should have been the first sign not to stay. Bathroom didn’t look like it had been clean, toilet paper holder was falling apart and rusty, so be sure your tetanus shot is up to date. Not sure when the last time, if ever, the shower head was cleaner. Carpets were dirty with dead bugs lining the stairs and halls. Breakfast was literally bread and dry packaged muffins. Pancakes were cold and soggy and falling apart. 150? No thanks I’d rather slept in my car. I’ve stayed at way better hotels for this price.

Reply to my hello at checkin was, "Do you have a reservation?" No, hello back, or welcome. Yes we had a reservation, rest of checkin was fine. Just seemed sort of terse greeting and tone. Room was clean except housekeeping forgot to check fridge which had a leftover container in it. Also, do not recommend bottom floor. We could here people above us walking (stomping?) around. Luckily, they must have gone to sleep around midnight.

I've had an awesome time with this place so far. I'm on the road all the time due to my job and really needed to take a shower and do some laundry. The pilot across the street have been having serious issues with maintaining their showers and doesn't have any laundry facilities. So decided to chance it here and was not disappointed. The front desk help was awesome to talk to and pleasant about making sure my stay here has been good. Very helpful. They only had one laundry and dryer but I didn't have to fight anyone or wait on using it. It is only coin operated but the woman at the desk will sell you a roll of quarters or exchange for cash for quarters at your request.Room was exceptionally clean.Shower worked well.Heat and cool from AC unit worked well.Large TV for the single queen room I had and the bed was perfectly placed in front of it. Not off set like so many other places. Microwave and mini fridge in room.Towels, floor towel, and soaps provided.Pillows are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Two to each bed but I found extra pillows in my room above the hangers which is a great added bonus. The bed in this room is to die for. Very clean and maintained. Smells fresh. Looks good. No holes or spots or hairs anywhere. And so comfortable.Overall would highly recommend this place to stay at.

Stopped here on our way home (east) from Yellowstone. Decent hotel, clean rooms, friendly staff. Beds are OK (not the best I've slept in, but DEFINITELY not the worst) and the AC unit worked great (important for us!) The rooms were a decent price (less than others in the area) and the location was great, right off the highway - but the rooms were quiet and you couldn't hear the traffic so that was a big plus. They do offer a continental breakfast, but no hot items. I didn't have much time, so I snagged a few hard boiled eggs and coffee and was on my way. Overall great spot to rest your head for the night.

Okay, this place wasn’t all to bad for my one nights visit, but the thing that irritated me most was throughout the night there was very loud pounding and stomping upstairs, and it woke me up a few times. I find this really irritating, because I couldn’t fall asleep easily from all of the unnecessarily loud stomping throughout the whole entire night. Also bathroom walls were pretty cracked, the sink was pretty dirty. Other than that, I’d say that this place wasn’t too bad, but because of the loud stomping I’d go somewhere else.

A bit difficult to find from the interstate. Staff wasn't great, the guy at the desk was rather haughty. The amenities in the room were just kind of tossed in, it didn't seem like much care or pride was put in in any aspect. The old car out front was pretty cool. Expensive for what we got. Stay was just ok and we would probably go elsewhere if we stayed in this town again.

Front desk guy sure wasn't friendly at all . Kinda thought we were " putting him out " when we checked in . Room and beds were nice . Very clean . Only down side mention was the desk person . I'd stay here again , but hope it would be on a day when he was off work ..Rooms: Clean & niceNearby activities: It's a dinky town . The pizza place was closed but it worked out ok . We ate at the burger house in town . Good food & friendly staff . A lil pricy , but that's life eh ? Nice visit .

I agree with everything Billy O'Brien said. The carpet is so clean and new looking that I have my bare feet on it! I just finished doing my laundry. I'm a truck driver. It's right across from Pilot, which only has 60 parking spots, which is small for us. The service was exceptional. Even on a Sunday, the price is really good. Everything is clean and spotless and smells great! Def saving this as a favorite!

Wow! We are super impressed with Vinny at the front desk during our 2 night stay in the middle of a blizzard! Traveling to Washington state we were stopped by a blizzard and landed at this Super 8 right off the interstate.Vinny was more than accommodating upon check in and even saw him helping shovel out SEVERAL cars and box trucks that got stuck in their parking lot trying to check in. This man went out of his way to help these strangers get their vehicles out of the deep snow. It did take several hours for the plow truck to snow up but in the mean time Vinny suited up, grabbed a shovel and went to work outside in the blizzard! After seeing him at the desk two days in a row I asked if he got any sleep and learned he walks to work in these storms to prevent getting his own car stuck! This man leaves his wife and family home, walks thru a blizzard to get to work to only continue helping others! I sure hope the owner or upper management sees this and gives this man a raise that he surely deserves! While no one in town delivers food, we asked for recommendations & Vinny was kind enough to notify us the Tap Room Down the road was having specials! Our room was quiet, didn’t even hear the noise outside or from other rooms. Jacuzzi really helped relax our legs too after a long ride! Room was clean and comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave.

My review is really a 2-star review of Murdo SD. We were on a long road trip and had to stop in Murdo, which was not the best choice. The Super * looked like the only hotel/motel with inside corridors, so we selected it above the Best Western. Basic, basic, basic accomodations; small, old bathroom that was not very clean. We ended up in a king room with a hot tub in the room; the mirrored walls were a bit much. Bed was clean and comfortable. Could overhear conversations in adjoining rooms and the corridor was noisy when the work crews left at 6am.Now here's the knock on Murdo - on a Monday night in mid-November at 6pm there were no restaurants open. Even the Subway at the Pilot gas station was closed. So dinner was a prepared sandwich and chips from the Pilot store - luckily they had beer in the cooler.

While this isn't a 5 star hotel we have NOTHING to complain about! As transporters, the Pilot across the street was our next fuel stop and due to a blizzard rolling in we couldn't travel any further and went across the street to this Super 8. Vinny at the front desk was very friendly and polite upon check in and due to the blizzard we were stuck here a couple nights and noticed it took awhile to plow the parking lot. We found Vinny out in the snow helping shovel out 1/2 a dozen cars & trucks that got stuck in the parking lot! This man did NOT need to help and went well ABOVE & BEYOND his job to help dig these people out in high winds and treacherous conditions! He most certainly deserves a raise as we also learned he WALKS to and from work in these storms as it's too difficult to get his own car out and not worth the risk of getting stuck and having to pay a large bill to get help get his car out! I sure hope this reaches upper management and this man gets a raise ASAP as he most certainly deserves it! Thank you again Vinny for your kindness! The room itself was clean and well kept with again nothing to complain about!

No stars was not an option. Way over priced for a dirty discusting room. A room that smells of body odor and cigarette smoke. Entry doors that were not secured. Homeless wandering throughout. IT WAS VERY SCARY. KEEP DRIVING! Not worth the $175.Safety: Unsafe

Relatively cheap and totally acceptable hotel strategically located less than 1h from Badlands National Park. Free breakfast. Super fast wifi (>80 Mbps). Refrigerator in room. Check-in after midnight wasn't a problem.I saw prices of $56/night on the Wyndham app the week beforehand, but the app had problems. By the time I booked three days beforehand, I believe it was $67/night. Sometimes prices fluctuate, and you can rebook at a cheaper price nearer your res, but this was not the case in this instance. So booking earlier can definitely yield lower prices. The sign says there's a breakfast of at least granola bars and mini-pancakes from 6-9 AM, but I didn't investigate. This location isn't located anywhere too scenic by itself, but it's a little less than an hour's drive to Badlands National Park, which makes it a good jumping off point.

The room initially looked clean, but we found a puddle of what looked like vomit under one of the beds, my bed had no fitted sheet, and the bathroom had a urine stain dripping down one of the walls, the tub was disgusting with hair and dirt in it. When I went to the front, the clerk glanced at me but otherwise ignored me until I had to raise my voice. He “offered” to give my daughter and I another room, but when I questioned where it was, because I have heart and breathing issues and was struggling to breathe at that point and worried about moving everything farther from the entrance, he walked away. And that was that. We were stuck in a dirty room, and in the middle of the night found a bug crawling in the bathroom. If my daughter hadn’t been driving for 12 hours and already struggling at that point, we would have left. If you’re cool with dirt and bugs then save the $100+ bucks and go camping.

Great place to get sleep right beside I90. Good, clean, cheap and surprisingly quiet for being next to highway. Comfortable beds. Shampoo and lotion appreciated. Refrigerator and microwave in room. Room cost $74, nice. Parked in front of room so could watch car. Blackout curtains in rooms were appreciated. Hvac in room worked well. Breakfast not good but raisin bran kept me satisfied.

Stayed for about 7 hours to get a much needed shower and some solid sleep. The kids and I felt safe and got the rest we needed before we continued our 35 hour drive. I couldn't even tell you how the beds were because I was so tired I would have slept on a rock at that point. But they were clean and the room had decent air conditioning. We slept well. We appreciated that they allowed us to book it right then and didn't require an online booking previously. Thanks so much.

I was hopeful with all the good reviews, but extremely disappointed. The staff who checked us in was rude, the room was filthy with pee stains on the bathroom wall, and a suspicious stain that looked like vomit under one bed and no fitted sheet on that same bed. They refused to change our room. I slept only long enough for me to be safe on the road and then we left. Never again.
