I can’t say enough good things about this place! My family did a long trip, 3500 miles, 9 states in 8 days. This place was the best stay we had! I’m super picky, and quite honestly, hard to please when it comes to a hotel bed. However, I slept the best night sleep during our entire vacation here and I was exceptionally comfortable. To make the trip even more memorable, we bought gifts from the from the gift shop area. When we got to Nebraska, my daughter’s snow globe fell out of the car and broke. I called Range Country and explained what happened. I was able to purchase another one over the phone and they were kind enough to ship it to our home!!! When my 5 year old got home and opened her box it was the absolute best! Thank you Range Country for providing my family with a clean, safe stay! Also, they have a great laundry area and the girls enjoyed the pool.

I do not recommend this hotel, but there are limited hotel choices in town. This appeared to be the best one. It was likely the most expensive, too. If the male receptionist (possibly the owner) does your check-in, you might feel slighted, but the room was spacious and clean. I was told the hot tub was broken, so I did not try that. The walls didn't block out noises from other guests, but there weren't a ton of people there. Breakfast was limited, but okay. There's a chance that if you do not book online through the hotel's site, you might actually pay less by just showing up and requesting a room.

This was THE BEST hotel I've ever stayed at. Hear me out, this is why: it has everything you need on a road trip, and nothing you don't need.- The room was clean, spacious, and bed/furniture was high quality and comfortable. Nice sheets and blankets.- Pool is clean, small but 3-6 feet deep with nice steps and side seating- Hot tub is clean and seems well-maintained- Pet friendly, but they do want pets kept on crates and/or off of the furniture.- 2 restaurants within walking distance, coffee next door- Outdoor playground for kiddos- Breakfast was basic but good. Free, and included eggs and sausage + all the usual toast & etc.- Decor in the whole place was regional and really fun. Even the mounted deer, elk, etc. were impressive as opposed to feeling "overdone" if you know what I mean. (l'm not a hunter)- No apps on the TV but plenty of cable channels- All staff were really kind and so helpful.

Grabbed a room here at the last minute and it was quite a nice surprise. The front desk clerk was very pleasant and helpful, offering fresh baked cookies and coffee when I arrived. The entire property was clean and tidy, my room comfortable and spotless, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Complimentary breakfast in the lobby really hit the spot. Highly recommend.

Booked here because of being pet friendly, but still had to sign a one page contract about having a dog in the room. Was scolded by the front desk attendant because I didn't read it word for word. At 8 pm in the evening and after just driving > 600 miles I am going to accept what ever is required to get a restful place for the night. Room was on the first floor, so convenient with the dog. The hotel has a cute western decor. The room was clean and spacious. However, had a really funky smell, kind of like wet hay on a barn floor. Not sure if this was the carpet or AC unit. Toiletries were the cheapest variety going. Breakfast was just OK, but not my idea of a chuckwagon breakfast as advertised. My bill for this hotel was over $200 for one night. Definitely overpriced. On a side note, Prairie Pizza next door had excellent pizza which we enjoyed in the room.Rooms: Two sinks. One outside the bathroom, which was convenient. Room smelled.

We stayed here for one night of our vacation. We arrived around 10pm after a 14 hour day of traveling, so it was nice to have a quick check-in. The front desk associate was friendly and welcoming. Our room was on the first floor, and there were many entrances to use close to the room which was nice because that gave us more parking options. The room itself was spacious and cute. It had a cowboy theme complete with cute cow quilts on the beds, chairs with steer on the fabric, and cowboys on the lamps. What we especially liked about the room was that there was a second sink/mirror right OUTSIDE the bathroom. This was wonderful for our family. One person showered privately while another was able to still get ready for bed. The only reason I gave the hotel 4 stars and not 5 is because the air conditioner had a musty smell coming from it. We turned it off after a few hours because of the odor. It was a bit warm, though, and we would have preferred to have it on. The beds were super comfortable, though, and I loved the pillows--personal preference. The free breakfast offered was fine. Not quite as many choices as larger hotel chains. They had eggs, sausage, toast, cereal, OJ, and yummy little cinnamon rolls. The mini-cinnamon rolls were a real treat. The attendant kept everything well-stocked, so no one had to wait for anything. All went well, and we would stay again.

STAY ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!!2.0The best part about our stay was: the fly swatter they will loan you for the killing of the unbelievable amount of flies everywhere!!!!Disliked · Were do I begin?! We were shown two rooms and they both looked just the same, and NOTHING like the ones shown online. Don't be deceived by the front office, which is pleasant looking because the rest of the place is two clicks about being a dump!!! The old, dated carpet (when we killed fly's - couldn't find them to put in the trash on the 1960's style carpet), no hand towel racks at sinks, curtains that barely worked (hubby had to almost pull them from the wall to get them to close, and when finally closed they blow out over the AC unit blocking it), no safety bar in tub, dirty (hairs and specks of toilet paper on bathroom floor), wall AC unit that constantly changed speeds all night, and the general run-down condition! BUT the "best" part is they they charged $217.00 to stay in this place, which at best should be $69.00 a night! We stayed at nice Holiday Inns the night before and the night after, at $179.00 per night for new, clean, well-maintained rooms! I'm no snob, and stayed at several other "mom & pop" places on our trip that were like a Ritz Hilton compared to the Range Country Lodge, because they had all been updated, were very clean, and in great condition, and get this, paid under $100.00 per night! I don't know who is writing the reviews for them that state 'exceptional" and other glowing comments, but it must be their drunken relatives who is on the dole!

We stop here every time we take our annual trip from Michigan to Montana to visit our son and family. It is clean, quiet, dog-friendly and very reasonably priced. Good beds, very good breakfast and friendly staff! They have a nice indoor pool but we are usually too tired from travel to take advantage of it. (I guess we are getting old! 😔) We highly recommend staying at Range Country! 👍🏼Rooms: Clean and spacious! We like the Western decor!Safety: Very quiet and in a nice neighborhood with spacious grounds to walk our small dog. We feel very safe during our stays!

Had an ok stay until me and my daughter went to grab breakfast to bring back to our room when the man who checked us in, Brett Anderson, stopped me as we went up the steps and told me that next time I get in late I need to be mindful of other people and not be treating the room like a jungle gym. First of all, we got in about 10:45, we all needed showers me and my two kids, my son is 18 months old, daughter 8. I explained we all had to take a shower and were not being too loud. He said we woke him up at 11 even though he had just checked us in?? And he said the sound finally stopped about 12:00 well yes we were all taking showers until then. Unsure if he thought we were someone else because we weren’t yelling or loud in any way. The conversation was very quick as he was getting in his car to leave. Also he said kids go to sleep…yes they do but not on command…..also made my daughter very upset. Super unprofessional on his part. Won’t be back again.

Enjoyed the overnight with two kids. Pool and hot tub with extra chlorine was clean and an enjoyable size for two families. Excellent living and dining area with taxidermied Animals for viewing entry and dining. The "chuck wagon" breakfasts was encouraging family dynamic amongst strangers of diverse nationality. A demonstration ones humanity keenly felt-- or even a lack of it could be felt. The size and intimate space of the breakfast chuck wagon could be a little too intimate for some - grumpy, grouchy morning people. Smile and use your manners and all will be fine.

I stayed here last night, last minute really. The staff on the phone and in person were great. (thanks Brett and Brandon). Good price. The rooms were bigger than expected. They were clean and comfortable.. had a few annoying flies buzzing around, but made short work of them. You do tend to find flies in the middle of nowhere, which is precisely where Murdo, South Dakota is.. the hotel in general was very nice, i liked the lodge feel.. breakfast is served from a chuckwagon set up in the lobby and i pretty good.. would happily stay here again..

Our family had a great stay here! Friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms with lovely decor. Lobby was nice to work in. Hot tub fabulous and kids had a great time in the pool - good size, bit cold at first. Loved all the photos and curios lining the hallways - really interesting.

Dawn was amazing! She gave us an excellent tip on having to see the Badlands. It wasn't on our schedule but she told us that everyone needed to see the Badlands before they die. Great Tip! amazing drive for only an hour detour. The room was huge, fit the locale and we felt a very authentic South Dakota experience. I would recommend this hotel to anyone in the area. Get out of the cookie cutter motels and experience South Dakota!

This place is nice and conveniently located. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub. The warm cinnamon rolls at breakfast were a nice touch.
