Drove from Huron to Mitchell to visit Menards. We were looking for a complete toolbox set. We found one with an 11% Rebate sign. Cavin, store associate, said the rebate was no longer available, but "we pretty much have to give it to ya".Wrong. Todd, who might be a manager of some sort, looked at us and said, "nope". No apologies, nothing. We walked out of the store, easily keeping our $800. Menards card is paid off and will be cutting up the card.We will be visiting Lowes instead with the full intent to walk out with carpet AND a toolbox. All from another town entirely. We did their deck by design and spent over 2000 dollars. We had it delivered and they brought it 2 days early so we were not home when they came and we were 2 deck bords and a whole box of clips. When we called and tried to get the rest of what we paid for we were given every reason why it wasn't their fault. But we used their program and built it how they said to and we were short. I've talked to 3 different people now and still waiting to find out what their going to do.. terrible service all around and rude employees. I will never do business with them again.

Usually, find what you need at a comparable price. They used to have a guy named Leonard. Big man with tape measure suspenders. He was the biggest asset this store ever had on all their employees. This man would find what you needed anywhere or find something that would work. We let didn't attempt to keep his help they lost big..

Can't get help. The help you do gets is absolutely clueless. The place is going to hell. Locally owned hardware stores and lumber yards are super helpful and generally have what you need.

Some checkers are nice and some are are just plain rude. Today I got the rude one. This one has grey hair with a pony tail almost down to her attitude. She clearly hates her job.When its pointed out she can only shrug her shoulders and grunt. The 3 stars are is for other helpful employees. Had it not been for her I would go higher. Maybe just a bad day but her and the checker next to her looked at one another and grinned.

This place was rife with labor law violations when I worked there.Some of the things they did:Tried to negotiate my yearly State Active Duty in the Army National Guard... Like what?!?!??Tried to avoid paying overtime.Tried to deny sick leave due to a surgery which certainly had to happen.Used another employees private medical information as a pretext for "why I didn't need to miss work for said surgery and recovery after".Tried to use said information to give me a diagnosis that differs from actual medical professionals.

I have spent a lot time in here for many home projects. Most every time we have had great customer service. They even let us exchange a gallon of paint after we realized it didn’t look good on the wall. The staff is knowledgeable about their areas, and able to answer our questions about our DIY projects at home.

Service is not great at this store. Certainly employees are great, and I’d honestly say most are grumpy all the time. Front check outs are slow. Lumber never has a barcode on them, so you have to wait for them to find someone to confirm the price, which holds up the line.There is a lot of room for improvement. Hope this review helps out in some way.

The 2 elderly gentleman were very friendly and helpful. The 40 to 50 yr old guy on the machine that took down our hot water heater could learn a few customer service tips from the older associates.

I’ve always loved Menards and the one in Mitchell has been great.I had un unsatisfactory experience one evening with one of the managers. I emailed a complaint and heard back from 3 Menards representatives, including the manager I had the issue with.They responded quickly and made it right. That is huge to me. Menards still gets 5 stars!

This store has everything!!! It is always very clean and well stocked. I even found paint texture that I didn’t know existed. (You can add it to a gallon of paint to avoid the messy spray texture getting all over woodwork etc.) Thanks to a helpful lady in the paint department.

I would normally give you a better score, however my last visit made me question if I was in Menards or Wal Mart! After spending considerable time finding what i needed and a few things I just picked up because they were a great deal I found myself ready to check out...ONLY 2 LANES OPEN!!! one was 6 items or less the other a long line with 2 different people needing managers to help with price checks....the young man getting the items and doing the price check was walking so slow if he went any slower he would be in reverse! He acted as if not a care in the world and he would get to it in his own good time!! Both lines were all the way to the isle you walk towards garden center! I know you were not understaffed because there were associates in every other isle. My question is ...why in the world when we are this close to Christmas and stores are very busy....including yours, you would only have 2 lanes open!!??? I can usually get checked out fairly fast so I plan accordingly if I have another place to be. This was poor planning on your part and in my eyes really not concerned with us the consumer. I waited in line well over 15 mins. I was frustrated with how the lines were handled ( I was not alone) so I pushed my cart aside and left the store! This is the first time I have ever had a bad experience in your Menards and I do hope my venting will help your management consider US THE CONSUMER!-/

Looked everywhere for s 99 cent wooden handle wire brush and honestly I have bought them there before...It was pretty cool because everyone working there was looking right along with me...One of the guys was even punched out for the day...that's a great batch of Menards representatives in that store..Top Notch Costumer Service...thanks for the help

Terrible customer service, let alone had 6 items including a bathtub, 2 different cabinets, flooring pieces all broken. Had to drive back to the store 5 times to replace all these items. They refused to deliver anything or give at least free shipping on reordered products

Helpful and friendly employees, but very dusty. If you have allergies to dust and trees, then you should make sure that you took your allergy medicine before going. Other than that, they have a good selection of items you need or didn't know you needed.

Employee in the paint department basically told he didn't have time to help me in a unapologetic and rude nature. If there was a Home Depo here they would loose all of my business. Considering driving 100 miles to the closest Home Depot. It would be worth the trouble.

As a contractor, I appreciate the large product selection and extremely competitive pricing that Menards offers. However, there is nothing more frustrating than a trip to the store. Because I live a distance away, I try to make good use of each trip and when store employees can't find things and are unable to think for themselves, everything takes a long time. Assume that you will need at least 2 hours or more if you need to load from the outside yard.

I will never shop here again. We ordered tile, and we quite clear about which tile we wanted. The store associate ordered it for us, and when we went to pick it up, it was the wrong tile. They charged us a $30 restocking fee to send it back, and reordered the correct tile for us. An entire month passed since placing the new order, and we still hadn't gotten a call saying our tile was in, so I called the store to see where it was, and was told, "Just wait a little longer.". So I did. Next week, I still hadnt heard anything, so I called again, and was told, "We'll leave a note for the manager." .Again, no one calls me. So I call again the following week. This time, they transfery call to the flooring department, where I am again told "We'll leave a note for the manager." I wait another week and still no one contacts me. So I call again, and am again transferred to flooring, and am again told a note would be left for the manager. This time I say no, I want to talk to the manager in person. He says he'll send an email to the vendor. I say fine, but I have waited patiently for two months and when I call back on Monday I want an answer. He says, it might take longer than that to get a reply. I am pissed. So I the vendor (Mohawk) myself, and while they couldnt give me any information without the stores order code, they informed me that there was no reason the manager couldn't make a phone call rather than wait for email. I get off the phone and am about to call Menard's again, when FINALLY they call back all on their own, and the manager says, "Oh, yeah, I looked into your order, and the reason the vendor isnti shipping is because they dontd make that tile anymore." .I am PISSED. I demand to be transferred to the general manager, where I complain, partly that no one would return my phone calls or look into my order beyond "huh, that's weird." .But also to complain that I bought a product off the store's shelves, paid money for it, and it DOESN'T EXIST. (This happened to me on their website as well - I had found a cupboard I wanted, brought the webpage into the store, said I wanted to order it, and they said, "Oh, we don't contract with them anymore.". Then . . .why has the website not been updated?!?!?!) .But the general manager says, "We'll, there is no way the tiling department could have known that Mohawk quit manufacturing that particular type of tile." .I personally think that's a pretty serious problem that needs to be solved, but no apology was offered. He did agree to refund me cash for the tile, as well as refund the restocking fee for the previous order. However, when I went to the store in person with my receipt, I was treated quite rudely by the customer service department (Lauren - or was it Laurel? Was absolutely awesome and sweet, but her manager, Marla, was it? Was really snotty with me) who told me they could only give me store credit because the receipt Id brought in was a receipt paid with store credit since the first tile had been returned for store credit rather than cash, and if I had the first receipt they could refund me cash, but not like this, and no, they couldntc refund me for the restocking fee either. So I asked the the general manager again, since he had agreed to reimburse me. He came, and said, "Oh, no, we can't do that after all, I guess.". I said I didntd want their store credit because I planned on never shopping with them again after this fiasco, and couldn't he, as general manager, somehow override the system? And he said no, and they sent me on my way. I was SO angry I was crying. I have a seven month old baby at home, who is about ready to crawl, and our floor is all ripped up and nothing but plywood. We have been living in this house, getting slivers in our feet, for two MONTHS waiting for someone to do something, being brushed off again and again, and now we have to go some where else to order our tile because THEY sold us an imaginary product, and can't even give us our money back? You take a chance ordering tile from Chance.

Rudest staff. These people are are absolute zealots with masks. If you do not have the proper one they approve of they will rudely kick you out. I wouldn't support these zealots with a penny of my money.

I'm from wisconsin and came out here for a trip. Stopped here and the staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Everyone should be proud that works here. I would give it more stars because of the people that work here

Worst customer service there is; building materials area has the laziest workers-unless you're looking to talk all day and not help anyone. Store overall lacks product variety and availability. Cashiers are nice. If it wasn't the only true hardware store in town I wouldn't go. Horrible store, but then again that's how Menard's is because they don't pay worth a darn. I bet for every 20 employees there, you're lucky if you get one who knows their stuff about their department. Sad. I will take my business to another lumber yard and pay the extra $$, at least i'll get what I need and get some customer service while I'm there.

Menards requires the wearing of masks and if you don't have one they will supply you a mask for $ .50. Can you believe they are making money off the masks that they are requiring you to wear. The masks they are selling, you can purchase on the internet for 100 of them for $10 or $ .10 each. Time to shop elsewhere, where if you need a mask they give you one for free.

Menards was pretty good today, busy but still got a question answered- employee walked me over right to what I was looking for. I appreciate that very much, nothing more frustrating than knowing you're close but can't find it.

My contractor Son, who, like many local contractor's, spend a lot of money there. He was over charged $400.00 on some spindles for a job, he bought many items that day and in checking receipt that night, discovered the error. Management would only give store credit. With covid and work slow, plus big family, this has caused a bit of a headache for him! Shame on Menards! It was their mistake and should have refunded him his due, money!!
