Vets are always loving and gentle, even when your pet isn't happy to be there. Instead of just shoving medications into animals to solve symptoms, they look at making lifestyle changes (change of diet, etc) in order to treat the animal the best.

Unhelpful and dismissive. Rude and act as if you being there is an inconvenience to them. Kept disregarding my cat’s weight loss and did not want to run labs. Took cat to Twin Lakes and they ran labs in 20 min and let us know that cat had complete kidney failure and maybe had a week or so left and that the issue could have caught earlier with those simple tests.DO NOT GO HERE. Go to Twin Lakes.

Took my lab there with what another vet incorrectly diagnosed as a prolapse, expecting either a hefty bill or the possibility of putting my dog down due to her age. I did not have to experience either and my lab is as good as ever. Very grateful! Will definitely be taking both my dogs there for checkups from now on.

I took my dogs there for the first time today to get their shots done. First I went to Sioux Nation Pet Care to save some money, they have shots for a (sale) price the first Saturday of each month but the line was crazy long. I was heading through Madison that day and decided to call Lake Veterinary Clinic and see if they had an opening, and they were able to get me in right away. Price was great, and the service was also great. Would recommend to anyone.

I'm on a fixed income. And these amazing people are working with me. My little chihuahua has swelling in his face due to a dental infection already two visits and seeing them again tomorrow. Where I used to live the vets were all about money and not the animals. They are working with me on the money and prioritizing the animal. In my mind this makes them the most amazing and wonderful people. Sooo very grateful for them

Took my Bernadoodle there for his shots and an overall check up. Everyone was very friendly, the doctors gave me great info on ear plucking, and taught me how to do it so my puppy won’t have issues in the future. They also gave me a care package with samples for flea and tick options. Just moved here from Washington state and never had to worry about fleas or ticks before for that was incredibly helpful. Definitely appreciate them and all there help, will be bringing my animals back for all their health needs!

My sister took her dog here for a hurt leg. The people working at this clinic are some of the most unprofessional people I’ve ever heard of working with animals. The immediately insisted she muzzle her dog, asked her to help hold him down for an x ray, then screamed at her to get out of the room. The doctor yanked her dogs leg and he yelped in pain. She was so shocked that she just god yelled at and when she left the room she said to her husband “are you kidding me?” The doctor threw the door opened and screamed “you can go somewhere else!” Absolutely disgusting behavior from a so called animal care giver. 10/10 would NEVER recommend this place. Also PSA if you own a pitbull, do not go here. The woman working told my sister when she brought her other dog in previously (her pitbull) “you know someone just got their arm but off by a pitbull”.

We have been in Madison for a year and have had many wonderful experiences with this clinic. I have had a seriously sick dog and we have been in a few times for routine shots and ear infections. The staff is wonderful! We have also boarded our dog numerous times and they LOVE going every time. They have also groomed both of our dogs. So Thankful for their service & a safe place to take our beloved pets. Prices are great! Highly recommend!

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. I got asked to hold my dog during his X-ray for his leg and then got screamed at saying you can not be here- this is the law get out. As if I knew I couldn’t be in there when they just told me to hold him down. As I walked out, he slammed the door so I was yelling to my boyfriend saying I can’t believe that just happened and the lady out of the room said what happened, I said they are literally so rude. She looked at me and said DO NOT COME BACK HERE.

I live in Sioux Falls, SD and started bringing my dogs to the vet in Madison because my mom lived on the lake so I was up there regularly and could take them for their annual physical and shots. They're extremely flexible and fair on price, especially compared to Sioux Falls. They've also helped me with skin issues that required medication for one of my dogs and removing cracked/rotten teeth. They've been great to work with and would highly recommend them to anyone in the Madison area and beyond for non-emergent vet needs!

Took my 4 month old kitten in with a bad case of worms. After 5 minutes the vet decided to keep him over the weekend. We didnt hear anything from the vet till we called 24 hours later to see how he was over night. They said he took a turn and they should know more in 3 houra. Waited till midday and called again because we were super worried. The doctor was unavailable and they said hed call us back in 15 minutes later. Then at 4 hours after we had called he called and told us our baby had passed and we then drove 20 miles to pick him up and there the vet said it was free of charge which was super wonderful however he then made a comment about how we should get another thats not sickly. I will not be going back there.

Very rude secretary! First she was rude to my mother and now rude to my brother. Use to like this place, won’t be getting my business until she is gone! Just because someone doesn’t have the immediate cash, doesn’t mean they should be belittled for taking a puppy out of a bad place! Paycheck was three days away!!! Not like he won’t have the money! Puppies leg has been broke for weeks, all he wants to do is help this puppy! They don’t offer help without payment upfront, understandable, but being rude and making him feel bad for not having the cash is unacceptable! She should be fired!

The vet was very helpful in my efforts looking for a cat's owner after it followed me home. She was willing to stay late and check if it was chipped or spayed.Of note, the vet clinic is behind the BEHIND the building which its sign is next to, that building is a machine shop with a nice dog who is very friendly. Unfortunately the cat did not feel the same way about the dog and I spend a good 20 minutes trying to get it to come out from behind a CNC milling machine.

Best vet i've ever gone too.family owned business and they are awesome with all my dogs.they are verry friendly and knowledgable.they take time to explain things to you.my bf lives 2 hrs away and now brings his dogs here cause hes been taking his dogs to his vet for yrs in his town and 1 his lil older guys has a wheezing condition and his vet told him its just cause he has a flat face.his condition worsened and i got him to take him here and within couple min they heard he has a heart murmer and with xrays saw his heart enlarged and has a serious heart condition that would killed him.hes had this for yrs and his vet never caught it.now hes on heart med and doing alot better.they saved him and prolonged his life and hes like a puppy again at 12 yrs old.wont take my dogs anywhere else but them now.

I recommend no one going to this clinic they are very rude to their customers and don't care. This is one of the worst vets in Madison south Dakota the lady I talked to was very rude and mistreating. I give them the worst review ever that I can. Go to any other vet but them. They were claiming that I was someone that I'm not and wouldn't believe who I was even with my papwrwork.

These people don't care about your injured or sick pet unless you have large amounts of money at your disposal. Even if you or your family have taken your animals there for 40+years. I urge you seek help for your pets from a decent veterinary clinic if you need urgent care or even a check up for your pet. I assure you that you will be disappointed by this greedy, wannabe corporation and your pet will leave in more pain than when it he/she arrived.

stay away mediocre and money hungry. The lady vet also is well a racist who knows nothing about the world. You could not claim to be a Christian and act completely ignorant. Your town is a dump, your practice is sub-par you words are NOT CHRISTIAN. Good luck with the way you see life may be one day you will have some understanding of the Bible.

Took my dog in like 10 times trying to get rid of fleas did flea bath bought shampoo bombs chews everything only to find out she is getting the fleas in the lobby of there clinic I could feel them jump on me every time I walked past the front counter haven't had any problems with fleas ever since I stopped coming to the clinic
