This little slice of paradise was a hidden gem if you would like some privacy but will all the bells & whistles. I loved the fire pit & the friendly pets.The TV was great for gamers, bathroom was well worth the bath- other rooms have a cook top stove to make food. Pet friendly.I would recommend bug & tick spray if you're going hiking.Over all friendly environment, the hostess was always there to help during hours. Thanks for a great stay.10/10 would it again for some time alone.

Our group stayed here for 3 nights on a hunting trip. We had 2 cabin rentals.All I can say is the folks that run this are family now!!! The hospitality has been great.I cannot express the appreciation enough in this review of our stay. The cabins were clean and appear to be very new.The floors, walls, bathrooms are clean. You will not find a leaky faucet on the property as it is very well maintained.I will stay here again if I am ever in the area. Thank you Puckett family!

When I visit the area, this is my preferred place to stay. The rooms are nice for being out in the middle of nowhere and I like how quiet it is. It's also a great place to unwind from driving and to stargaze. The restaurant is really good for both dinner and especially breakfast. I give the chicken fried steak and eggs 5 stars too...yum!

This covers both the restaurant and the motel. Both are wonderful. The restaurant serves very generous meals that are of excellent quality. Prices are reasonable. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Mine had a mini- frig and a microwave. The leather sofa was wonderful. Large vanity area separate from the bath area. I highly recommend this place.

I did not stay here but are at the restaurant! This place has everything - great food, reasonable prices, and amazing views! The staff is so friendly and was accommodating for our big volunteer group! The burger and fries I had was so tasty! The pie I had was so yummy with ice cream! It was clean and a nice environment to have dinner! Would highly recommend!

Had an enjoyable 1 night stay here in the cabins; very clean and tidy. Customer service was attentive and friendly. Also ate at the restaurant (no other options in the area) and found the food typical of American style diners, yet again very clean. I would stay again.

Great country fried steak. Huge portion, never hungry. The ranch animals are friendly, and the view at sunset is nice. Living in the city, I certainly appreciated all this had to offer. A 2 star ranch with 5 star service.

Terrible Customer Service! Heat went out in room, brought in heaters that cut the breaker. Stayed another night because we had no where else to go. Got back to our room to find they rented it out to another person. Bad Communication. So Got a key to another room n that key didn’t work. Asked the front desk what she could do to make our stay better she just said you got a room the key should work. Had littl children so that wasn’t good at all for them. We made the best of it though. The rooms were clean, I’ll give them that.

This quaint little hotel is off the beaten path, but if you're looking for peace and quiet, this is a great find! The restaurant has a good menu and their unofficial greeter is a gentle Rez dog who really doesn't mind a good petting. They don't have all the usual amenities, but the quiet more than makes up for it!

I really, really wanted to like this place. My wife is from Kyle, SD, so I've driven by it many times. Reviews online were good, so I went in with high hopes. Before I leave my criticisms, I should say that GIVEN OTHER OPTIONS in the immediate area, this place is probably the best there is. You're right in the middle of nowhere on the rez, which I love, but it's very slim pickings for places to stay.Ok, so now the bad part. We opened the door to our room. Large room. The floor carpet was totally stained up - big stains all over. The smoke detector in the ceiling was missing the cover and wires were hanging out of the ceiling. I doubt it worked. The "kitchenette" was a small stove/oven that I'd estimate (no joke) was probably from the 60's. Half the lightbulbs in the light fixtures were old-school regular bulbs, the other half bright white LED, giving the room a really weird look. 2 of the 5 bulbs in the bathroom vanity were burned out. The comforters on each bed seemed clean, but were old and scratchy.So yeah, it was not "good." Again, for the area, pretty nice. It wasn't like horrible that we couldn't stand sleeping there. But we only walked on the carpet with our shoes on. And we slept on top of the comforters on the beds and brought in our own blankets. We did eat at the cafe, which was very good and very inexpensive. Quarter pound burger and fries for $5.I did think maybe we just had a bad room. So I walked around to some of the others. The shades were open so I could peek in other rooms by ours. They all looked like ours. Stained up carpet, sort of generally shabby looking.So yeah, that's my review. I really enjoyed our time in Kyle. We spent 2 nights at this Lakota Prairie resort. Honestly, the next time we stay in Kyle overnight, we'll probably stay here again, just because there are no other options. But I thought people should read this recent review. When you see all these 5-star or "good" reviews, just know it might not be quite what you were expecting. Thank you.

We come back once a year or so and they are always friendly. We stayed in the bunkhouse on this visit. Not as spacious as our family room or the cabins in back, but everything we needed . Great a/c and good cooks in the main bldg.

Stayed here for a week in May. Very nice place. Rustic feel, but at the same time very clean- which is most important to me. Would stay here again. Only had breakfast at the restaurant but it was delicious!

The Lakota Prairie Ranch Resort is an oasis in Oglala Lakota County. Although it is the only motel in the area and has one of the few restaurants around, the quality is tremendous. When guests come to visit, they always stay here, at "The Ranch." The rooms are clean and comfortable and have good wireless internet. The dining room has a great menu with a wide variety of items, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Some of my favorite meals include the BLT sandwich and the quarter pounder with lettuce, tomato, and pickles. For sides, I really enjoy the sweet potato fries or cheese balls, which are deep-fried curds. The staff is always helpful and the owners are very responsive to the needs of guests, customers, and diners. I would highly recommend the Lakota Prairie Ranch for anyone in the area.

I love this place! It's been years since I've been down this way and I am very impressed by the development over the years. This motel is very nice and the rooms are very open!

This place is an oasis :) hotel, restaurant, camping, over night horse stalls. Worth making reservations!! We used the stalls which were still under construction but look like their going to be awesome
