I would love to give this 5 stars but the food was mediocre. I ordered a steak done medium. It came out very well done and looking like a porkchop inside. Just very well done and very hard to chew. Based on previous reviews, this was an isolated experience. The bar and the restaurant are separate, someone comes around asking about adult beverages.Other than that, the service and atmosphere were amazing! Super cute place. Emersive into the past and worth checking out! Gluten free and kid friendly available.

Our waitress was extremely fast and helpful, best service I’ve received from a restaurant. As for the food I had a sirloin steak medium it’s was cooked to perfection, I ordered potato dumpling soup which came out immediately, and the most heavenly steamed broccoli. Best meal I’ve had in a while, my fiancé ordered a buffalo burger that came out looking delicious with a cute flag toothpick. Reasonable pricing at an adorable location that brings back into the past. Would recommend to anyone looking for a good quality meal!

Excellent experience here in Keystone. Two dinner at the Ruby House, two success.Fair prices, good food, waiting for the table was pleasant and well managed by the bar bartender and waiter with excellent cocktails options.Difficult to find places in USA where you order something and comes out without more sauce/topping/salt above ordered.Waiters above average, really nice guy from Turkey well trained to manage client and service, full compliments!

This is an awesome place to enjoy a great meal after visiting the sites around Keystone. We were seated immediately although the restaurant was full, We started off with cocktails, which are actually served from the bar next door, so you will have a separate tab, but no problem for us. My only issue is that they had Prime Rib on the menu, but it wasn't available. I went for the rib eye and it was cooked perfectly with just a touch on pink. My husband had a buffalo something and enjoyed it thoroughly. The service was friendly and helpful. We would definitely go back if ever in Keystone again. And the bar next door...live music which was really pretty good, so we stopped and had a nightcap since our hotel was right across the street!

This place is pretty cool! When you walk in, you get and instant transport back in time to the late 1800s. The food was pretty good. Service was okay, but once our food was delivered, we never really saw our server again to ask for the things she failed to bring us the first time.If you are around the Mt. Rushmore area, specifically Keystone, stop in here to look around. They have a really nice bar too.

Don’t let the beautiful photo of the salad fool you. The chicken was drier than the Sahara Desert if the Sahara Desert was taken off of Earth and placed in a realm of dryness. Spinach dip was yum, though! Sweet potato fries were epic! Atmosphere is cool. Nothing too special food-wise. The design of the kid’s menu absolutely blew me away, it was AWESOME. High class.

What a neat place! The restaurant has such neat decorations. The ambiance is so pretty and inviting. The staff are so kind and helpful. Our server did such an amazing job, she really took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was so tasty and fresh. I highly recommend this restaurant to others. Thank you so very much.

Our first time in Keystone. The menu and reviews made this a must try and I'm glad that we did! Anna M. Was awesome! I always appreciate someone who really listens to their customer. She offered a few insights on my final 2 choices. The burger was huge and the best I've had in ages! The sweet potato fries were crisp but melt in your mouth. The taco salad was huge and delicious. And they have Pepsi, so I'm sold!Atmosphere was neat. Interesting people watching. This will be our go to whenever we visit the area now!Parking: Crazy busy street, don't bother. There is parking off street right as you come into town by the hotel. Signs say for customers after 6pm. That's important since I didn't see the small print so we walked a lot further than we had to.

WOW! This place is a absolute best place I've ever been to. We were just coming back from Mount Rushmore and my blood sugar was extremely low. We left Kearney, NE around 6am and we had breakfast at the Motel. We were visiting on our Honeymoon. My wife has never been to South Dakota or Mount Rushmore. I've been there back when I was knee high to a grassshopper with my grandparents back in the late 80s. On our way to Mount Rushmore all we had to snack on was Beef Jerky we picked up at the Iowa/Missouri State Line on our way to Kearney, NE on the 15th of October. Anyway getting back on subject here, we stopped here at Ruby's House Restaurant and got the 10oz Buffalo Steak. It was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Mouth watering, tender and juicy. Seasoned to perfection. It was the best steak I've ever had! If I lived in Keystone, SD I would eat here everyday! The service was the absolute best too. The waitstaff didn't play around, they seated us to a table quicker than a Cheetah could spin on a dime and give you 9 cents back.I recommend anyone who is traveling to Mount Rushmore to stop in and get a Buffalo SteakIf we're ever back up that way from Missouri, we will definitely stop here.

Upon visiting keystone (7-5-23) my family of 6 decided to have lunch at Ruby House. We all ordered something different but I kept it simple and safe and just ordered chicken strips and fries. Our server (don’t remember his name) was on it. Quick to refill our drinks and was really good. As far as the strips go, with the meal I ordered, they only give you 3 some what normal on the small side strips and a medium size of fries to go with it. They had different kinds of dipping sauce but I chose ranch. The food was ok, not nasty and not the best tasting ever, just ok.The restaurant was clean when we went it and not busy but did become busy as we exited. If we were ever in town again, we may consider coming back. The price for the 6 of us was around $105. The was prices have increased lately, this may be normal anymore.

Beautiful woodwork, antiques, and old pics help create an ambiance of the old west. Wish that the entire menu was available. Wasn't what we'd seen on the website. Phenomenal job on the Sirloin! Perfect markings and correct doneness made it a visual and tasty delight. My Chicken Parmigiana had a delicious crispy interior which didn't get soggy with the addition of Marinara. The Steamed Broccoli we both had was stellar! Just barely cooked so as to retain it's texture and the butter made it the perfect side dish to a pair of hungy tourists! Well done!

This place has amazing food. I had buffalo ribs which were falling off the bone and I didn't need the knife. I only used it to hold it down to tear a piece off or slather on bbq sauce. My husband has the buffalo nachos. Now one of the interesting things was they didn't serve alcohol. The Red Garter Saloon attached though did, and came into Ruby House to take orders. The decorations were really unique. Kinda a burlesque feel to it with the red velvet mixed with the old west cowboy decor.

Atmosphere in this place is very unique. Google shows the Daisy chain next to Ruby house. But actually stopped next door to look inside the Daisy chain store, and there was was a really nice lady sitting on a stoule having her lunch. And when i entered her store she asked me( sir a are you a veteran and i really wasn't interested in what she was going to say (i know rude) so she asked me again. And said yes technically i am. Served in the early 80s reserves. She go over to that rack and find the branch that you Served and she goes now pick a label pin to go with your hat. And then thanked me for her freedom ! You talk about a humbling experience. So go see her please!Wheelchair accessibility: There is a wheel chair entrance.

Was told be our hotel staff said this was the place to go. Great staff from the hostess to the waiters. After a long day of exploring the Black Hills, this is so close to all the hotels that you can just walk downtown after your meal and enjoy the sites and sounds. I will definitely be back again with the rest of my family.Parking: Paid parking. I think I paid 5 dollars cash. If you stay in the hotels in Keystone. Just walk save money on your vacation.

I don't get here often as i live in Minnesota, but I've been to steak houses all over and every time i come back here they never cease to amaze me. Food, service, environment definitely top 3 for me all across the US and by far the absolute best steak house in all of South Dakota! I honestly have a hard time ordering here because everything on the menu is top notch. I will come here every time I'm in the area. It has become a mandatory stop when i come though or stay in the area.

Second time here in 14 years. It hasn't changed at all. Like time stood still. We even sat at the same table which we found amusing. It is a little pricey for what you get but the food is delicious. The elk burger has fantastic flavor and the mash potatoes tasty homemade.Parking: Parking might be a challenge since it is only on the street or surrounding businesses.

Went here for our first Anniversary Dinner. The food was amazing and matched by the decor and ambiance of the place. Our server, Devan was great and very helpful. He made our time even more enjoyable. And at the end we were presented with a beautiful desert as a gift. Can’t wait to go again.

Bartenders at Red Garter were very great. Unfortunately I can't say the same for the food and one of the servers here. The Buffalo steak I ordered was burnt and over cooked. The server told me I could buy another if I didn't want the one I have. At least the manager came and refunded my card. I was disappointed because I waited 2 hours to try a Buffalo steak and ended up ordering pizza from the place next door.

Nice historical place built on top of a trestle that used to carry water to the Harney Hydraulic Gold Mining Company. Right on top of Grizzly Bear Creek. Well kept interior. Good food and friendly service. Sit inside with good AC or on the boardwalk and watch the world go by. Five stars.
