They delivered my tumbler quickly and safely, along with a couple bags of rocks which were all great quality. The pricing was very fair and they had a product that has been hard to find. update***did my first batch with their polish, and wow do they shine.been having a lot of trouble tumbling using different grits, and a ton of people recommended me to try here. I made my first order and it arrived within a couple days. definitely the best prices for grit, and just put some in with the pre polish so hoping for good results 🤞

I love this place! Even if you aren’t looking to buy it’s a fun experience to show your children or yourself some rocks you’ll likely never see. The rocks are from all over the world and the fossils here are pretty unique.

This place is great. Prices look fair to me. I like the selection of polished and unpolished rock.The wall dedicated to south Dakota is awesome and very descriptive. Don't spend your money at other rock shops go here. I hope this place is still running the next time I make it back.

This is a great rock shop that is open all year, a fact that we greatly appreciated after our trip through the Black Hills in March. They have an extensive inventory of both rough and polished minerals and fossils.

I am very pleased with my experience online with the Rock Shed! I first was looking online for a cheap, but trustworthy price for a brand new rock tumbler barrel, and the Rock Shed had exactly what I wanted for $35.00, including shipping, which is much cheaper than any other online store! Then, for Valentine's day, I got surprised when I got 2 lbs. of Large Ceramic Media, Small Ceramic Media, and 2 lbs. of Medium Mix raw rocks. I was so excited when I opened up the Medium Mix sealed package and found that it had rose quartz in it, as well as other rocks I can't identify. So, the Rock Shed is a great place to get awesome rocks, replacement parts and nice gifts for a very reasonable price! You could even use ceramic media as a Christmas stocking filler! (bad rock tumbling joke) I really appreciate the effort of the staff from the Rock Shed, and will definitely be doing business with them again soon! Thank you Rock Shed for your service!

My wife's favorite rock shop in keystone. The rock shed has a large amount of local rocks and minerals as well as some more exotic types from around the world. You will find quartz,Baltic amber,mouldavite, and wulfanite to name a few.They also sell rock saws and tumblers. All the the staff here is very nice and most of the time are able to answer our questions. Highly recommended if you like rocks.

My 50th Birthday Present to myself. 2022 the 50th Anniversary of Keystone town. Five years ago I saw this beautiful Amethyst that was nearly my height. It was love at first sight. In 2017 I told myself I was going to buy it for myself on my 50th birthday. COVID happened and I did not make it anywhere for 2020 my 50th birthday. I am myofascial specialist for people in chronic pain located in Bismarck, North Dakota. I am so deeply grateful to have my small business survive while so many business had to close their doors. A friend sent me a Facebook market place link showing an orthopedic massage table in Rapid City for an unbelievable price. I looked at my husband and said I wonder if we can find me an amethyst like the one I saw. So we returned to the store and to my utter shock it was still there. It seems like a dream. My beautiful cathedral amethyst is coming to my pain relief clinic. To my utter shock Keystone is celebrating 50 years and nearly did not survive it's first year. Celebrating deeply my heart is so full of appreciation. (I lost mother in 2018. This event is truly breath taking)

The best little (not so little!) rock shop east of the Rockies! Knowledgeable staff and huge selection of fossils and locally sourced materials. Check out the outdoor yard for very cool petrified pieces. A must stop for every visit to the Black Hills.

First thing is don't approach the store from the right side and then notice the stuff outside on the left of the shop as you are driving away after you have made your purchases and are with someone else who needs to keep moving. it will haunt you. This place is incredible. The lady working there was so cool. Janell. she rocks!!!!!! and her father in law....rocks! they are totally nice and knowledgeable and it's good I don't live nearby because I would spend so much money there. They have so much cool stuff in the store including lots of South Dakota rocks and fossils. I highly recommend the Prairie Agate. And they have a black light room. And then whatever happens, don't leave without dealing with your rock needs then and there because if you are from Wisconsin and had been wanting big rocks like they had on the side of the shop and saw them as you drove away, make your husband stop the car and spend more more more time.

Their store is absolutely awesome. They have a little bit of everything from rough rock to cut stones, fossils to minerals, and everything in between. Their rough rock prices are pretty good for the keystone area. Whether it’s small bits and pieces or bulk wholesale (think thousands of pounds), this is the place.Sean is really a nice guy and knows a lot about rocks. If you need help finding something, even if it’s just a general idea, he’s your best source in the business.

The kids said the Rock Shed was the best part of our trip to South Dakota. It was very educational due to the vast variety of rocks and gems and knowledgeable staff. I wish we lived closer to buy lots of rocks for rock tumbling. I may still order some online. They even had gemstone gravel you walked on and could buy.

I ordered online and my experience was nearly perfect. Everything was well packaged and in good condition. I mostly ordered items that were one of a kind, and received exactly what was pictured online. I also ordered several megalodon tooth fragments but was sent the wrong amount. I contacted them and was immediately sent the missing items. The woman I spoke with was kind and pleasant to deal with. Additionally, their prices are very reasonable, as are their shipping costs, and shipping was fast. My only real complaint would be how many items are listed online that are out of stock.All in all, I recommend giving them a try. I will definitely be ordering from them again.

I have always loved collecting rocks and had a rock tumbler as a kid. My wife recently bought me a new tumbler and after looking for a reputable place to buy tumbling grit and accessories, I found Rock Shed. Super reasonable prices and fast shipping. Amazing! I'm unfortunately addicted to 2 day shipping. Many times I skip over independent businesses because I want something as soon as possible. I placed my order with Rock Shed 2 days ago, I got an "order received" email a minute later, in 7 minutes an "order completed" email. In 20 minutes after placing my order, I received my tracking number. And now 41 hours after I placed my order (less than 2 full days) USPS dropped my off package. The rocks looks good, and I'm excited to use the grit as well.. Their prices are about 25% of what I've seen on my usual 2 day free shipping site. Once you add the $15 I paid for a 10lb package, the rocks were still HALF of what I've seen elsewhere. I'm ordering from Rock Shed again.

If you are interested in cool rocks, I would recommend visiting multiple rock shops in the Black Hills. This shop had the best variety of rocks from other parts of the world, which is cool. Note, as is the case with the rest of the Black Hills merchants, the price is cash only.

Excellent company! Very fast shipping on every order and I’ve never had a single problem with orders over the last 3 years. I get all my tumbler grits from them and the grits are high quality. Had the privilege of visiting the shop last year on a work trip to SD and it’s an awesome shop! Picked up some beautiful Fairburn agates for my collection as well as some great rough for cutting and tumbling.
