MUST DO!!We just happened to come upon this place while in Keystone. Even though it was a short experience it was one of the best things we did in South Dakota. They helped us pick out different outfits and made sure we were dressed perfectly. So many different costumes, backgrounds and props.So when you get to Keystone go get your pictures taken. By the time.you are done walking around town your picture will be ready. You won't be disappointed!!!

I feel like the photographer could’ve slowed down a bit to take her time postioning us. We had our 7 month old baby with, so I understand that’s a bit challenging but I’d rather have had 5 good photos to pick from vs. 20 so, so photos. Overall it’s all about the experience and we had fun.

You may be aware that there are several Old Time Photo options in the area, but I'm so glad we went to this one! There were 3 big factors that made me very happy with our choice:1. Jason has such an upbeat positive attitude, he made it so much fun!2. The price was significantly cheaper than other options we considered.3. They offer a flash drive with the photos they took for an additional fee.The whole experience was perfect because I knew I was getting the options I wanted at a good price, and we got to have a good time doing so. Not only do I recommend going here, but we'll be going back as well!

Fantastic place to get your old time photos taken!!! We had a blast! Jason and Megan were super helpful and so much fun! We had a group of 12 and they were so accommodating. Highly recommend!

First and foremost, the pictures came out FANTASTIC. The photographer knew what she was doing. It was a short fun experience to do in Keystone, and I've always wanted to do something like this. If you're thinking about doing this, you most definitely should! Don't let what I say below dissuade you. The costumes and props were so much fun!The only negative was that it seemed crazy expensive. The minimum price was a little over $60 for 3 5x7s, and you could only buy the flash drive with digital copies if you bought a physical photo package (and add on another +$40 for it). Once we bought the flash drive, we looked at the photos and they don't have the sepia filter on them, which is easy enough to do myself, but they also aren't cropped, so it was a little underwhelming to see them on the drive knowing you would have to edit the ones you liked yourself.

So FUN!!! Our girls absolutely loved the dress up and trying on different hats etc! The man that helped us is actually one of the owners and he was very into it all! Very upbeat and happy to make the experience fun for all!Seeing my husband in the hot western outfit… also worth it! And he said the same about my flousey outfit :)We picked professor samuels photos over several that are right in that area because his where way more realistic. He cares about even the smallest of details . We got to change accessories several times switching between guns, whiskey bottles, fans, umbrellas and he worked with all of our/kids requests!

Great place with great staff. Went in with my boys to get a family shoot done. My kids love putting on the costumes and being able to pick their accessories. It was less than an hour from picture completion to photo pick up. Hubby and I snuck back the next evening and did a shoot just the two of us. Go in and check it out. You won't regret it.

This was my first time doing this and the owner made sure that every detail was explained while being very enthusiastic and outgoing! He made our experience great and the photos came out awesome! If you’ve never tried this style of photo taking, I would definitely recommend going here to take them!

We did a family portrait with our 7, 4, and 1 year old. I was so impressed with the service and how well the photo turned out. Seriously, I can NEVER get all three of my kids to look decent in a photograph, but everyone looks great! We had a blast picking out outfits and posing for the picture. Our photo will be a keepsake that we will enjoy for many years to come. I highly recommend this place!

Professor Samuel is quite the photographer! I have 3 daughter ranging in age from 16 to 5, and they all are quite unique. Despite this, professor samuel managed to find a way to make everyone smile their best smile! He prides himself in authenticity with his props, and most of the gun belts are real leather. Any firearm that would use a cartridge is a close, well made non-firing replica. Black powder style firearms are actual replicas and could be made to fire given powder, projectile, and percussion cap... plus replacing whatever was taken off of to make it inoperable. He’s super nice, personable and professional, and seems to truly enjoy what he’s doing! Plus it’s one of the best smiles I’ve ever seen from all of my daughters at the same time! You definitely want to go here!

We wanted do something fun as a family while visiting Mt. Rushmore. This was perfect! We had a lot of fun taking these pictures. Jason, our photographer, was amazing and made our experience that much better. There are a few other places in Keystone, but this place is the best one. Definitely recommend these guys!

Nothing but good things to say about this experience. The family loved it and I really loved the price$$$.... lol. The best part was getting the memory stick of the pics, now we can get a Christmas card with the pick. I mentioned to the guy taking our pics, maybe they should get some Santa hats just for that reason. Would be a nice touch.

If you’re in keystone or anywhere near there definitely visit Samuel’s old time photos. We had the best time. You get to dress up, the backgrounds and props are super fun! Jason is awesome and all the crew there are very friendly! If you have the opportunity visit this place, get the pictures, and enjoy them!

We have gotten numerous old time photos through the years starting when we were just married, then adding our two boys, occasionally grandparents when possible. Professor Samuel's photo is thus far the best we have encountered. Very professional, fun, patient, experienced. I also felt their prices comparable, and they also offered a CD to be purchased with any other package. We had a great experience. Thanks, Jason!

The ladies were friendly but very misleading regarding the cost of what we were requesting. Basically, we ended up paying $80 more than what we were led to believe would be the cost. When I tried to bring our concerns to one of the ladies, she simply said she misunderstood us without any attempt to “‘make things right” for the error on her end. Because of this, I would recommend checking out one of the other places in town. I won’t go back again.

We got our family photos and the employees were helpful and nice! One of the employees overheard us wanting to photoshop “keystone” in the photo after. When we open the picture up they had done it for us!!! So not only did we have an amazing family photo but they went out of the way to make it exceptional.

Our entire family had a great time! Staff was fantastic setting up our family of 17 and keeping the kids entertained (and "in line"). Photographer was energetic and seemed to genuinely enjoy the whole process. I would recommend Professor Samuels to any and everyone.

We are so happy with the photos that were done. It’s a tough job getting 4 kids to all look at the camera, let alone have them pose. They were so patient with the kids, even though I’m sure the photographer lost 10 pounds just from running back and forth to reposition them and then capture the photo. I highly recommend this place.

We have been to a couple old time photo location and these people know what they are doing. The guy photographer we had was absolutely phenomenal at his job. I do have to agree the price is outrageous but if we all keep paying it the price will stay the same.
