I believe this might be my fourth visit over my lifetime to Mount Rushmore and it never gets old. This was our first time to eat at Carvers Cafe. My wife and I had the pot roast dinner for only $11. It was delicious and did not disappoint.

We stopped into the food court to get a snack to hold us till dinner. We wound up in the ice cream section. The ice cream was served up quickly by staff who seemed like they didn't mind being there doing their job. It was kind of refreshing. They did a good job and my hats off to them. It cost us $12 for two cups of ice cream. Definitely not cheap. But we've had worse. So it wasn't so bad considering where we were.We sat in the main food court where there were different options for food. They had some employees who obviously had issues that they work through and work productively and with such great attitudes. It made my day speaking with one of them and signing his list of where folks were from. I watched as some of these nice folks worked before I got the opportunity to meet them. I was impressed how well they performed their tasks. It made my day to meet such wonderful people. So that ice cream turned out to be much more enjoyable than it was suppose to be.Anyway, the cafe' had restrooms and such that folks may need. It really was a nice place to take a break and have a snack. It's very convenient for folks visiting Mount Rushmore.

On a trip of 10 days to several states, many towns, and a few cities, this was my favorite burger and fries. And ice cream. Take time to appreciate the setting from scenes in North by Northwest. It puts you right there. The food options here are plentiful and fresh. I had no problems needing gluten free. Don't pass up on dessert. The ice cream is so good. We got the vanilla (original recipe brought over from France by Thomas Jefferson). It's so buttery! Servings aren't stingy so you may want to consider sharing.Vegetarian options: Salad availableDietary restrictions: Gluten free options!Parking: Parking is the convenient lot nearby. Kid-friendliness: Open dining room with plenty of space and seating options. Plenty of room for strollers. Wheelchair accessibility: Plenty of ramps and plenty of space at tables that are a great height.

We loved our break here after walking around and taking photos. The place to eat has a lot of space, which is really nice good there are a lot of people. The place is nice and clean as well. I loved the ice cream and the food that we ordered. I'd probably order that very same ice cream when we go back here.

Soup and chili was good, Buffalo Burger/ Chicken sandwiches were ok, and the Thomas Jefferson Vanilla icecream was amazing, which gave it an extra star.Prices were highly inflated but not as bad as it could be literally in the Mount Rushmore Monument. Line was literally out the door.

The chicken strips and buffalo burger were more like jerky. So dry it was hard to swallow. You would think a place as busy and popular would have decent food. Our daughter and son had soup and pizza that were better tasting but not for the price.

Buffalo bacon cheeseburger did not disappoint. I was expecting a lower grade burger and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Came with lots of fries too. We couldn’t even finish the whole plate. There’s indoor and outdoor setting. We chose to take an indoor window seat with a view.

The food is pretty good here. My party can vouch for the buffalo chili, cheeseburger, chicken tenders, buffalo cheeseburger and the fries. The drinks are standard fountain drinks/coffee type drinks.The staff is friendly and quick and very helpful. The seating area is clean and doesn't look well worn.

We stopped in here to get sandwiches to tide us over until dinner. Both sandwiches were great and heavy on the meat. My ham and swiss was giant and only $10. My wife got the turkey and it was also very good. You have to be flexible when eating at a tourist destination, especially when the restaurants are contract providers. The food was inexpensive and fresh, but don't expect gourmet or you'll be disappointed.

The view towards Mount Rushmore is unrivaled. The food was great(especially the Buffalo burger), and my entire family ate a variety of food here, including my one picky eater who only wanted a bowl of cereal(which they had). My only issue was with Google maps who said they close at 5pm. They close at 930pm so plenty of time before the nightly light up of the mountain.

Usually we avoid restaurants at tourist attractions but the menu at this one sounded good. We had the pot roast and a burger. They were both surprisingly good and the roll with the pot roast was very good. I'm glad we didn't avoid this one. Being able to eat underneath Mt. Rushmore was cool too.

Do NOT count on gluten-free options. Very disappointing after reading comments that they had options. I was told fries were my only safe option.

The park was great. The cafe on the other hand for some reason everyone in there were new employees have only been working for two days The ones at the cash register the ones cooking and everyone else claimed they were only there for two days did not know their job. We ordered breakfast It was not very good at all we ordered five biscuits and gravy and three of them the biscuits were so hard You did not even cut through them or bite through them had to take them back. We spent over $65 on breakfast and hardly ate any of it there was a waste. Hopefully they get training for the employees that are there or get more experience to employees. We absolutely loved everything else about the park just the cafe was a waste of money.

Fast cafeteria style food. Wasn't bad though. Tastes better than some hotels I've eaten at.
