These cabins are super cute and in a really nice location right next to a creek.We have stayed here a couple of times, and everything has been super clean. The owners are wonderful people. I highly recommend staying here!

We loved this place! The cabins were the perfect size for our family of 4. We enjoyed having bonfires in the evenings and the kids especially loved playing basketball and on the playground too. The cabins are very close to downtown Keystone - and it’s a great central location overall for all the local area attractions! The staff was super friendly and very responsive to any questions we had. Would definitely recommend!

We decided to head to South Dakota about a week before and plan to bring a dog with us. Normally do hotels, but found American Pines listing on the internet and the cabins looked great so reached out to them. Becki answered all questions I had very shortly after I messaged. I called and booked - quick and easy. Great service throughout stay with text messages to check insl woth us. Had a wonderful stay. Cabins were convenient and out in a beautiful area. Dog loved being able to go out in a space without a ton of people. Cabin was stocked with a ton of kitchen items. Two separate queen rooms. Everything was clean in the rooms. Great prices. Only thing would have been helpful was places to grab food (delivery, grocery store, open restaurants nearby). Temperature control in every room was great and fans in bedrooms were great. Bathroom had plenty of towels and toliet paper.Would highly recommend and will come again next time in the area.

The cabins are perfectly sized for base camp, 2-4 people and used for sleeping and bathing, gathering to start and end your days. Fully furnished is 100% true, we didn't need to bring anything except the food we wanted. Our interactions with staff were wonderful, everyone took care of our questions, concerns and needs timely and with grace. The on-site UTV rental was great, they sent us on a beautiful 1/2 day adventure. Old Hill City Road is a beautiful location to stay, close to Keystone for any needs, easy to get back to at the end of adventurous days, great casual drive to enjoy the scenery. We love this area!!! Glad we found American Pines!

A perfect place to stay in the Black Hills with breathtaking scenery. Pine trees all over and nice clean air. Our cabin was nice, spacious, clean, and well furnished. Comes with a stove, microwave, TV, fair sized fridge and freezer, and utensils. Each room has adjustable heat and an AC in the main living room. Only not so great thing was the wifi connection (very slow). Altogether, a fantastic stay!

This was a fantastic place to stay. Buffalo Ridge #3 just felt incredibly homey. Other cabins were more like a hotel room but this one felt like a place we could just live for a bit. My only regret is that our stay wasn't longer.Also, it's got train tracks running through the area a ways behind the property. Some others complained about it, but it's just for a local tourist steam train that runs during the day. It wasn't loud at all, and I was actually wishing it would come by MORE often.

Great little cabins just right size for a family of four! Great location close to Mt. Rushmore and all the other sites in South Dakota! Comfortable and cozy. This cabin was such a wonderful surprise. They said the cabin was fully stocked but I didn't trust it and brought alot of misc things I thought they wouldn't have. Wow, was I wrong! Everything I brought was not needed. These guys thought of Everything. The cabin was very nice and really clean. We do not have one bad thing to say at all. It really made our week long trip so much better being able to have a place like this to stay. All the thoughtful things the cabin was stocked with were very much appreciated. It made a big difference too, having a clean comfortable place to be. Thank you so much.

This is a great place to stay. It is close to a lot of places we wanted to go, the facilities were well kept and clean. We rented ATV's from them and enjoyed that immensely. The owners were great! They answered questions in a timely manner and were more than willing to help if we needed anything. I recommend this place to everyone and we would stay again. Gale

Our family of four stayed here for about a week and it was a great experience. I'm glad I chose a cabin over a hotel room as it was out of the way and very peaceful and quiet when we weren't out and about. Keystone is a small tourist town, but has a lot to offer for activities, souvenirs, and food/drink. Although the cabins are stocked with just about everything you may need, I recommend you stop at the Rapid City Wal-Mart for food or other amenities as Keystone/Hill City don't have grocery stores/Wal-Mart. Hill City is the closest town with a market, but you'll be paying marked up prices. The entire area around Keystone is easily accessible for all of your outdoor adventures, including a short drive to Mt. Rushmore. You can also rent UTV's at American Pines and cabin guests get a discount (We didn't rent one). I had one small problem and that was our keypad to get in to the cabin had died and it was around 10pm when we tried to get back in to our cabin. The owners responded promptly to our text for help and came out to let us in and change the battery on the keypad within 10 minutes. We would definitely stay here again if we have the chance to explore this area in the future! We highly recommend.Nearby activities: The Black Hills area is easily accessible from this cabin location, plus they rent UTV's (I believe cabin guests get a rental discount).

Sarah and Katie are wonderful hosts. We enjoyed exploring the woods around the cabin, watching the train go by, and checking out the creek. Great place for young families, with a perfect location near Keystone, so close to lots of great attractions. The kids had a blast watching the chickens in their small coop. If you are looking to crazy party, this is not the place for you. If you want a family-friendly, serene and peaceful getaway, there’s none better than American Pines! This was our second stay and we will be back for sure!

We loved our stay at American Pines! The cabin was snug for 5 people, but it was clean, cozy, and the beds were comfortable. The family/friends that own the property were so friendly and welcoming, and we enjoyed our UTV rental from them, as well. Great location as far as access to Custer State Park, Mt. Rushmore, and Keystone/Hill City activities. I would definitely stay here again if we return to the area.

American Pines is the place to stay. All the cabins have a rustic look and are very clean. The scenery is absolutely beautiful. Perfect location to all what Black Hills have to offer. Mt. Rushmore,Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and the list goes on.They offer UTV’s to rent to ride some trails in the Black Hills. Lots of shops and restaurants in Keystone and Hill City. We’ve been to South Dakota 4 times and this was our 2nd time at American Pines. We will stay here again on our next visit. The hospitality is amazing. Nice family!!

I did considerable research to find a convenient location that was within my budget. American Pines was perfect! Becki and the crew were very accommodating and easy to work with. We received periodic emails checking on us and our stay indicating to me that they really appreciate your business and don't take it for granted which is quite refreshing these days. We absolutely loved the cabins and amenities. Their Keystone location was right in the middle of all the activities we planned on participating in. Their on-site Side by Side business is so incredibly convenient if you are so inclined to hit the trails. We will be repeat customers whenever we return to the Black Hills! Thank you American Pines!

Our cabin was very nice. Beds were clean and comfy. Becki was super nice and she was right there and quick to respond if we needed her. Location was perfect. There was a nice little playground for our 6 year old. Small basketball court for the bigger kids. We would definitely stay again!
