Being tourists looking for lunch in the middle of nowhere while riding through the Badlands, we found the Wagon Wheel to be an oasis with surprisingly good pizza. Wasn't sure what to expect when we pulled up, but the ladies running things inside were nice and friendly, and the pizza was great. There was only one person in there when we arrived although other tourists showed up. They also looked a bit apprehensive as they walked in, but quickly realized it was a perfectly fine place to stop for lunch. Don't let the dive bar appearance throw you, it's a good place to stop for lunch.

Cute little place. Loved the old town vibe, like stepping back in time. Food was pretty good. Had a pizza which is homemade with a nice, chewy crust and good toppings. Saw a lot of burgers being served, although we didn't try them. A jukebox provided some great music and if you need some liquor to take home, there's a small liquor store inside as well. It was a fun evening and when we're in the Badlands again, we'll be back.

Literally the only place to eat at. We drove an hour from the airport and there is absolutely nothing on the way, so we were glad to find this place open as we pulled up. It's a local spot and nothing special about it. We grabbed a couple pizzas and despite some of the reviews on here, they tasted good. South Dakota in general is filled with flies on every corner, and this place had plenty as well. But you will just have to accept that when you come to visit. The locals in the bar were nice and it was good for a quick eat at 9pm.

You might be a little timid to try this place out, but I assure you it’s worth it. An authentic bar from back in the day, with all kinds of cool beer signs and good food. I had the Buffalo burger and it was great. The bartender Darren kept conversion with our group and we learned a lot about the little town of interior. Great place!

Its a bar and grill with casino. If you like drinking, i think it would a good place. But I was looking for some food in the middle of nowhere in the south dakota. Its serves my purpose. I ordered a buffello burger, it was ok but not very good. It came with no sausces or somthing that makes the burger the burger but with a buffelo petty. But i can’t complain, as it kind of in the middle of nowhere.

We are visiting The Badlands & came up on this spot. Hesitated at first to go inside but it was the best choice! Such nice people! Dean served us & gave us great recommendations for things to do!! If we take this same route on the way home or ever come back this way, we will definitely visit!!! Thanks y’all!

Pretty interesting place in Scenic. Burgers were very simple but not bad. Lots of beer choices. Service was good. The bar itself was nice. Expensive for what it is, but not bad considering the remote location.

Great buffalo burgers and pizza after a morning of hiking in the badlands. Highly recommend a stop when in the area. Based on the amount of beer brought in while we ate, this place must get a lot of business.

A little hole in the wall with the most delicious food! Onions petals were outstanding! It's not a tourist trap which we loved! Very unique atmosphere with dollar bills plastering the walks and ceiling! So glad we stopped in!Parking: Just park out front on the gravel!

Stopped here for lunch while driving through the Badlands and had a cheese burger, fries and a nice cold bottle of beer! Was delicious and thoroughly enjoyed it — only down thing was the water did not get hot in the bathroom but had hand sanitizer that I carry with me! Worth the stop!

Great dive! Bison Burger was great, but don't expect any toppings. Produce is hard to come by in this town. I would definitely eat here again. We did not try a mystery shot tho! 😂

Poor customer service, barely friendly, and not helpful at all. We asked about the pizza offerings when we went inside and we were directed to read the menu on the wall. We ordered a cheese and a pepperoni pizza. The cheese pizza only had 2 slices that were even edible due to being VERY overcooked. The pepperoni pizza was decent, but more like bowling alley quality. Both were 12 inches, which is small for the $27 we spent on it. Super disappointed because pizza is my jam and I love to try local spots everywhere we visit. I wish my husband would have looked at it before he left. With 2 kids, I still needed to do dinner for them back at the campground.

The Wagon Wheel is a local, quaint bar where locals eat. The menu is very limited, and primarily bar fare. Prices care very reasonable, and burgers are cooked to order. Service was excellent. It's a nice picturesque stop for a change of pace.

We were in Badlands National park and Google maps showed this place close by. Two miles down a dirt road was a tiny town with a this bar. All beers are bottled, food is good, it is an old school bar. Nice folks!

Very disappointing. Atmosphere was good, service was fair but the steak sandwiches both my wife & I had were very poor - fatty meat, lots of gristle - not pleasant to eat. Two drinks from the bar also seemed pretty weak, so overall it’s 3 stars for atmosphere and 1 star for food & drink. We hoped for much better based on other reviews we read.

loved the vibe of this bar and the food was very good and well priced! we enjoyed the ribeye sandwich, buffalo burger, meat pizza, cheese burger, & cheese balls. great selection of (canned/bottled) beers and also has a pool table! staff was friendly and good at their jobs, i would recommend if you’re in the area.Vegetarian options: not a lot

Seriously awesome food! And the best service I have ever experienced. Came in here for a meal after hiking in the badlands and the food came out fast and was delicious and a great price. The waitress was very fast, and friendly.

Perfect lunch while at Badlands National Park! Great music, awesome atmosphere.Basic no frills hamburgers that taste great. High quality patties, thick juicy real beef. Best patty I have had this entire week long trip. Also love that they brought us mustard, ranch, ketchup, AND Mayo, it seems a lot of places don’t provide Mayo. Also made sure to give us lots of ice water.Great prices, great no frills quality food, I would return for sure
